Chapter 353: Only the Dead Tell No Tales
โShut up! Just shut up! Iโll kill you on the spot if you dare bring up my past again!โ Waverly completely lost her patience and, with a swift motion, pushed Mindy, causing her to tumble down.
As Mindy was forcefully pushed, her entire body hit the wall, causing a deep wound to form on her head. Blood seeped through the gauze, and a wave of intense dizziness washed over her. Clutching her painful wound, she finally managed to steady herself before she said viciously, โHow dare you lay a hand on me! It seems you canโt even tell the difference between who has the upper hand! Do you think you can just walk all over me without any consequences?โ
As soon as she finished speaking, Mindy rushed over and got into a scuffle with Waverly. Amidst the chaos, a fruit knife appeared in Waverlyโs hand. The blade went in clean, but came out stained with blood, leaving a bloody hole in Mindyโs arm.
โDrop dead!โ
Overwhelmed with fury, Waverly lunged again, her knife aimed at Mindyโs throat. Mindy was dumbfounded. She could never have anticipated that Waverly would actually bring a knife. Sheโs clearly intent on killing me!
Just at the moment the knife was thrust down, Mindy swiftly turned her head, dodging the knife, and with all her strength, she pushed Waverly away. Waverly, being thinner than her, was shoved several meters away. Seizing the opportunity, she sprung to her feet and dashed toward the stairs with all her might. As she ran, she cried out loudly, โHelp! Murder! Someone come save me!โ
At this point, it was the middle of the night, so her cries for help were particularly piercing. As Waverly grew increasingly anxious about her secret being exposed, her determination to kill Mindy intensified. Tonight, either this woman perishes, or I flee!
With a fiery determination in her eyes, Waverly disregarded her own safety and hoisted herself up, chasing after Mindy. Mindy mustered every ounce of strength she had as she dashed downstairs. Unbeknownst to her, the floor below was secured with a locked iron door, so she was soon cornered into a dead end.
โCalm down, Waverly! Murder is a crime; you mustnโt act rashly! As long as you spare my life, I promise you, I will never ask you for money again, nor will I ever reveal your past deeds. Waverly, you have to believe me!โ Mindy implored anxiously.
โHeh. A crime, you say? You, a greedy and hypocritical villain, are lecturing me about the law? People like you only shut up when youโre dead! Have you ever heard this saying? Only the dead tell no tales! So, why would I keep a liability like you around?โ Waverly scoffed disdainfully.
She raised the knife, advancing steadily, her eyes shimmering with a lethal glint. Mindy pleaded desperately, โWaverly, weโve grown up together as besties! I beg you, please donโt kill me! Iโm sorry. I truly am! I beg you to spare my life! Please let me live!โ
โOf course. Iโll give you a chance!โ Waverly let out a cunning, almost eerie laugh as she continued. โHowever, it wonโt beโฆโ
Blood gushed out, much like a waterfall. One stab, then another, and another. Waverly had no idea how many times she had stabbed Mindy. It was only when Mindy had ceased to struggle entirely, unable to utter even the slightest sound, that she finally stopped.
โIt was you who provoked me first; Iโve tolerated you long enough, so I have shown the utmost kindness and righteousness. In life, itโs every man for himself. If thereโs anyone to blame, itโs yourself for courting disaster, insisting on pushing my limits.โ
She cast a cold gaze at Mindy, who was lying in a pool of blood, and gave her another kick, making sure she was completely dead before she hastily left.
After leaving the crime scene, Waverly made a phone call and said, โIโve killed someone, can you guys clean it up? Handle it just like how you did with my past. Make sure the police and any third party canโt uncover the truth. If you can take care of it neatly, Iโll reward you with ten million!โ
Ten minutes after Waverly left, a slender man silently appeared beside Mindy. He saw Mindyโs eyelids still trembling, but he remained silent, making no moves, simply watching her quietly. After a long pause, he finally said nonchalantly, โDo you want to live? If you say you do, Iโll save you!โ
Noticing the presence of someone nearby, Mindy suddenly opened her eyes, only to find that it wasnโt Waverly standing before her. She let out a feeble plea. โSave meโฆ I want to liveโฆโ
โDo you really want to live? Tsk, tsk. Look at you now. Even if you survive, youโll be nothing more than a cripple,โ the man said disdainfully.
