Chapter 335: Your Turn Will Come Soon

From the side, Waverly glared at Raylee resentfully and said accusingly, “Even though it was you who threw the sulfuric acid, you not only bribed her boyfriend but also refused to admit your guilt. Do you have no regard for the law anymore? Do you really think you’re able to just throw your weight around everywhere you go?”

Raylee innocently spread her hands and said, “What a misunderstanding! I really didn’t see Mindy last night! Could it be that you all are hallucinating? Do you guys need an urgent referral to the psychiatric department? Hallucinating is a serious condition, you know?”

“What are you still putting up an act for? The police officers have all left! Don’t think denying everything will work! Nowadays, there are surveillance cameras everywhere. A quick investigation will reveal whether or not you’ve been to Mindy’s house!” Waverly huffed.

Raylee remained silent as she moved to Waverly’s side. Swiftly, she seized the mobile phone from her hands, promptly turning off the recording function.

“Just speak to me if you have something to say. Why are you recording our conversation? We should refrain from such unethical behavior.”

“Give me back my phone!” Waverly demanded.

Raylee let out a sarcastic laugh. “Oh, I will. Relax! Why are you so anxious about it? Well, I suppose it’s only natural for you to panic. After all, if I don’t plead guilty, your bestie’s face would have been disfigured for nothing! But then again, wasn’t it the same way you all wrongfully accused me of stealing the necklace four years ago? You guys beat a confession out of me, making it impossible for me to explain myself. What’s the matter, can’t handle having a taste of your own medicine? Isn’t this a case of double standards, Waverly?”

Waverly said through gritted teeth, “I knew it! You did it on purpose! You disfigured Mindy’s face as a deliberate act of revenge!”

“Indeed, I was seeking revenge on her. This time, it’s her face I disfigured. Next time it’ll be…” Raylee’s words trailed off ominously as she cast a meaningful glance at Waverly. “Don’t worry, Waverly. Your turn will come soon.”

Startled by Raylee’s icy gaze, Waverly took a step back. Oddly enough, Waverly, who was initially filled with anger, suddenly changed her stance. With a dramatic change in demeanor, she burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably as she exclaimed, “Raylee, you’ve already ruined Mindy’s beauty and shattered her life. I beg you, please don’t splash sulfuric acid on me too! Please don’t ruin my life! I know I’ve made a mistake! I’ll get on my knees before you…”

Raylee almost thought that Waverly had developed schizophrenia. However, the moment she saw Samuel appear in the hospital ward, she instantly understood.

“Wavy, why should you kneel before her? I won’t allow you to demean yourself like this!”

Just as Waverly was about to kneel, Samuel swiftly rushed forward, pulling his tear-streaked sister into his arms. He glared daggers at Raylee as he rebuked her, “What now, are you planning to splash sulfuric acid on my sister too? Ruining Mindy wasn’t enough, now you want to destroy my sister as well? I can’t believe you’d use such a vile method to ruin a woman! You are truly terrifying!”

Raylee had no desire to converse with that imbecile, especially when he was a dimwit who couldn’t distinguish right from wrong. So, she let out a yawn and said, “I’m tired, so I won’t keep you all any longer. I need to go home and get some beauty sleep.”

Raylee then turned and walked away.

“You should stop provoking her, Samuel. It would be quite troublesome if she accidentally hurts you and ends up disfiguring you as well.”

Samuel tenderly wiped away Waverly’s tears. “You don’t need to worry about me, Wavy. Even if she had a hundred times the courage, she wouldn’t dare lay a finger on me! All right; stop crying. You won’t look pretty if you keep on weeping like this.”

He held her by the shoulders, looking left and right. “Let me check if you’re hurt. Hmm… It seems you aren’t hurt, so that puts my mind at ease. It’s late at night, and I was just returning from outside when I heard from the housekeepers that you had rushed off to the hospital. I was worried something had happened to you,”

“It wasn’t me, but Mindy who had acid thrown at her by Raylee. Her entire face is completely disfigured! What are we to do? Mindy is still so young! What about her future?” Waverly exclaimed with profound sorrow.

However, Samuel didn’t care about that at all. He had always found Mindy repugnant. In fact, his whole family did. They simply couldn’t stand her one bit. They had even pleaded with Waverly countless times, urging her to stay away from such questionable company, so as to avoid inviting disaster upon herself. Yet, this naive girl simply wouldn’t listen. As such, he thought it was actually a good thing that this troublesome friend of Waverly’s had lost her good looks. At the very least, she wouldn’t be able to stir up any more trouble in the future.

“Let’s leave this to the doctor, and head back home to get some rest,” Samuel said.

“No way! Raylee refused to admit her wrongdoings! She even deleted the recording I had! I need to seek justice for Mindy!” Waverly stated, shaking her head.
