Chapter 115: Do It Your Way
โAll right, turn it off and pretend we never saw it. If Jeremiah finds out, we wouldnโt even know how heโd silence us.โ
Casimir pulled out the flash drive. Beneath Samuelโs dark brown, tousled bangs, a pair of black eyes seethed with anger.
โHand the flash drive over to the police. Letโs get this scumbag locked up to prevent him from harming innocent people any further.โ
Casimir analyzed. โYou make it sound so easy. If you manage to get him in thereโฆ I, Casimir Sutherland, will eat my shoes. Heโs an international criminal involved with numerous countries, including Musmeynia, and even international terrorist organizations. If anything were to happen to him, there would be plenty of people ready to protect him! Besides, how can you be so sure that the Lorimer family wasnโt involved behind the scenes? It could just be the tip of the iceberg!โ
โWhat do we do then! We have proof of his crimes, yet we canโt touch him!โ Samuel, unable to accept the situation, slammed his fist on the table. โRaylee must have seen the information in here about him. She knows full well that heโs a ruthless, cold-blooded killer, a complete psychopath, yet she still chose to marry him! Sheโs gone mad. She truly has!โ
Casimir stated meaningfully, โShe isnโt mad; sheโs just different from you. You grew up in a sheltered environment, a rich kid who never experienced hardships. Meanwhile, she spent four years in prison. Sheโs experienced the harsh realities of society. Isnโt there a saying? The most dangerous place is often the safest. Iโm beginning to understand what she meant by taking a gamble. Sheโs staking her future on the most dangerous person!โ
โWhy on earth would she gamble like this? Betting her future on such a lowlife, isnโt that just setting herself up for failure?โ With a huff, Samuel declared. โNo way, I canโt possibly let her marry that scumbag! Iโm going to whisk her away abroad!โ
Casimir frowned and said, โArenโt you being childish? Sheโs a full-grown woman; how do you plan on whisking her away?โ
โThen Iโll go tell Grandma! Right now, only Grandma has the ability to keep her in check.โ
Samuel was about to leave when Casimir grabbed him. โHold on. I have a plan.โ
โWhat plan?โ
The two of them had a thorough discussion. When he left the study, he happened to run into Raylee hurriedly returning.
โDid any of you happen to find a black flash drive that I lost?โ With a stern expression, she demanded. โGive it back to me!โ
โNo, I havenโt even seen the flash drive youโre talking about,โ Samuel denied. Even if it was pointless to hand the information inside to the police, he wanted to keep it. Though it wasnโt needed at the moment, it might come in handy in the future.
Without wasting time on small talk, Raylee barged into the study. Upon seeing the computer still on, she instantly understood that they had accessed the information in the flash drive.
Furious, she snapped, โDonโt you guys have any decency? Snooping around other peopleโs stuff without their consent!โ
Casimir spoke with a solemn expression. โYou swiped the flash drive from East Aploth, didnโt you? Does Jeremiah know about this?โ
โIs there even a need to ask that? Of course, he doesnโt know. If he did, she wouldโve been silenced long ago!โ Samuel then added with concern, โRaylee, could you please keep your distance from him! Jeremiah is an extremely dangerous individual. If you fall into his hands, even death would be a luxury. He is nothing short of a complete demon!โ
Kaylee pulled out the flash drive, her face expressionless as she looked at the two men.
โFrom this point forward, I am the Terminator of Demons.โ
After she finished speaking, she didnโt waste any more words. She simply picked up the flash drive and left.
Gazing at her resolute departing figure, Samuel clenched his fists in frustration.
โWhat a crazy woman! Caz, letโs do it your way. I refuse to believe we canโt deal with her?โ
The following day, Kaylee took the initiative and paid a visit to the Lorimer family. Layla personally attended to her, expressing a deep sense of remorse.
โRay-Ray, Iโve come to know about Jeremiah kidnapping you to East Aploth. I had wanted to visit you in the hospital much earlier, but I was too ashamed to show up. Both my brother and I owe you an apology.โ
Faced with Laylaโs apology, there was no discernible emotion on Rayleeโs face. She used to think Layla was a decent person, but now, it seemed she and her brother were just cut from the same cloth. This included Tiffany, who personally sent her to prison four years ago. Not a single person from the Lorimer family was good!
โWhere is Jeremiah?โ Raylee asked indifferently.
โHeโs still resting in his room. My father was really angry with him for bringing you to East Aploth and for imprisoning Samuel. He gave him a good thrashing to teach him a lesson.โ
โCall him out here.โ
No sooner had Rayleeโs words fallen than the wickedly arrogant voice of Jeremiah rang out.
โRay-Ray, were you looking for me? Did you miss me? My dear fiancรฉeโฆโ
Just hearing the voice without seeing the person, Raylee was reminded of her experience in East Aploth. A deep-rooted fear began to emanate from her. Fear swept through her like a bone-chilling wind, piercing her to the marrow and almost bringing her to her knees.
