Chapter 114: The Flash Drive
Raylee glanced at him dismissively, scoffing. โNo one knows me better than you, Mr. Goodridge. Since you know very well that I have to get married, you had better just shut up.โ
Suddenly, Samuel became worked up. โRaylee, are you trying to provoke me? Iโm giving you one last chance. You are no longer allowed to contact Jeremiah. Go abroad and stay out of trouble. If youโre willing to behave and follow my instructions, I promise you a lifetime of wealth and luxury. If notโฆโ
โIf not, Iโll have to face the consequences?โ Raylee asked, her brows furrowed.
โMr. Goodridge, Iโve heard these lines a million times before. Do you have anything new to say?โ
She shot Samuel a frosty glance before attempting to walk away. However, she was stopped abruptly. Samuel had seized her wrist, his dark eyes radiating a heavy aura of hostility.
โEven when you hit a brick wall, you refuse to turn back. Are you really trying to get yourself killed? Since youโre refusing to see reason, Iโll have Grandma knock some sense into you. I know you care a lot about Grandma. Since you refuse to listen to us, letโs see if you dare to disobey Grandma!โ
โSamuel, you jerk, let me go!โ Raylee struggled fiercely but was forcibly dragged away by Samuel.
In a fit of anger, she bit down hard on his hand, only releasing her bite when she tasted the metallic tang of blood.
โHow dare you bite me?โ
Samuel stared at the back of his hand, marked by a deep bite that had drawn blood. The pain was so intense that he abruptly let her go. Due to momentum, Raylee stumbled backward clumsily, ultimately falling to the ground. A black flash drive had fallen out of her pocket, yet she remained oblivious to it.
โSamuel, if you dare to bother Grandma, Iโll kill you?โ Raylee stood up, issuing a stern warning.
โYou saw what happened last time when Waverly upset Grandma. She ended up falling ill. If you want to make the same mistake again, feel free to tell Grandma!โ
Samuel could only feel his being consumed by anger. Kayleeโs eyes glowed with intense resentment. After shooting him a furious glance, she turned and walked away.
โI canโt believe how unreasonable you are! Fine, if youโre so tough, Iโll leave you be. You might as well go get yourself killed now!โ Samuel muttered under his breath as he watched her retreating figure.
After Raylee left, Casimir picked up the flash drive she had dropped.
โWhat is this?โ Samuel asked, furrowing his brows as he wiped the blood off his hands with a tissue.
โA flash drive, it fell off RayโRay,โ Casimir said, his expression serious. โShe always carried a flash drive with her. It must be really important. Bring me a computer; I want to see whatโs inside.โ
Since it was Rayleeโs flash drive, Samuel knew it was of great significance. He was extremely curious about its contents and immediately took Casimir to the study.
Looking at Casimirโs tense and serious expression, Samuel snarled, โHand me the flash drive, and you may leave. The matter concerning Raylee is none of your business.โ
Slightly lowering his gaze, Casimir said pensively, โI found it. Of course, it concerns me. Cut the chatter and hurry up with the computer.โ
Samuel glared at him, issuing a fierce warning.
Chapter 114: The Flash Drive
โIf you dare to abandon Wavy, Iโll kill you even if we are friends!โ
Slightly annoyed, Casimir rolled his eyes, not bothering to argue further. He turned his attention back to his computer and began to work on it.
Samuel continued to chatter incessantly, โIโm serious about this. Wavy is my only sister by blood, and our entire family cherishes her deeply. If you dare do anything funny, youโll have to contend with my family.โ
Upon loading up the flash drive, Casimir clicked on a few folders. As he viewed the images and documents within, his face suddenly paled.
โEnough with your chatter. Just look.โ
A dark cloud descended upon his face, as if he had stumbled upon a shocking secret.
โWhat on earth has got you so flustered?โ Samuelโs gaze fell onto the computer screen.
Upon seeing it, he was greatly startled. He moved the mouse around, and as he took in more of what he saw, his face grew increasingly pale. He simply couldnโt believe his own eyes, as if he just had his mind blown.
The atmosphere around them grew heavy due to the seriousness of the two individuals. Samuel stared at the screen, his face devoid of any emotion.
Suddenly, he angrily threw the mouse onto the ground, exclaiming in vexation. โI have now only gotten to know the true Jeremiah! I used to think his methods were ruthless, but now he seems as vicious and savage as a wolf. The extent of his perversion is downright chilling.โ
Indeed, the flash drive was the very one that Raylee had stolen from East Aploth. Stored within were all the records and evidence of Jeremiahโs crimes. Raylee placed great importance on it, always carrying it with her in the hopes that if she ran into Jeremiah one day, it would be enough to intimidate him. Little did she know that the information she had been cautiously guarding was picked up by these two men.
