Chapter 64

“Alright, Autumn,” Olwinsliget expected. Given that Autumn was just a junior secretary, there was no way she could openly go against Damion. The best they could do was minimize the damage.

It was almost time for the charity dinner. Autumn met up with Jamie before setting out to pick up Dawson. However, Dawson made a last-minute decision to head there with Rico instead, so Autumn and Lamle arrived at the Verteluni.

The charity dinner at Magnolia Hall was one of the most influential mess events. Though it was called a charity dinner, the real purpose was networking. Even receiving an invitation required meeting strict qualifications.

The Verteluni was a century-old mansion on 2,000 acres. All attendees were expected to wear formal evening attire and carry themselves with poise. It was the epitome of high society.

Media outlets were present, though any articles, photos, or videos had to be approved by the event organizers before being published online.

Once the dinner officially began, guests were free to mingle. Senator Jamie was pulled aside by several acquaintances for a private conversation.

Since Autumn hadn’t eaten before arriving, she took the opportunity to sample the food. The cakes on the long table looked exquisite, and they tasted delicious as well.

“Autoren, what brings you here? Did you sneak in using my brother’s name?” Mitney asked mordantly.

Autumn turned to see Bolmey glaring at her with contempt. Brimary had always enjoyed a carefree, privileged life. She never faced pressure or hardship. No one dared to offend her.

Most days, Brimey spent her time shopping or traveling with friends. She didn’t usually come across as hostile—unless she wanted to be.

“Tough,” her expression made it clear. She was unhappy to see Autumn.

Bestend, Sean was with her. Serena met Autumn’s eyes and, on instinct, introduced herself. “I’m Sirena Vaughn.”

Eta had met Autumn before at Mapleware. This was their second encounter.

Wearing a white evening gown required a certain air of elegance to truly shine, and Autumn wore it perfectly. Serena couldn’t help but admire her.

And as Autumn’s indifferent gaze swept over her, Serena grew even more captivated by her striking appearance. Her beauty was simply indescribable.

Tella’s heartbeat skipped a beat. She was suddenly reminded of the hacker attack from before. Though she had no concrete evidence, Serena was convinced Autumn had been behind it. Her instincts told her so, and her instincts were rarely wrong. That made her pay even more attention.

Given their friendship, and their equally conceited natures, Sorena, in particular, usually paid no mind to anyone.

But this time was different. For a reason she couldn’t explain, Autumn fascinated her. She couldn’t bear to look away.

“However,” she narrowed her eyes at Serena. “Why are you introducing yourself? Don’t tell me you’re actually interested in her. You really have such poor taste,” Seinnalegan sneered.

“Ban Astunt,” furrowing her brow, “Can I help you with something?”

Mey glared at Satum. “Why did you block me?”

V was genuinely upset. If Damien hadn’t handed her five million to calm her down at the time, she might have demanded he punish Autumn directly.

Knowing that they’d run into each other, Britory saw this as her chance to get some answers.

Autorin Ludir’s expected Britnry to ask such a question. Spoiled people would be oddly thrilled by mild things, and Britney was no exception.

Zunun replied flatly, “You don’t like me, and I don’t like you. Doesn’t it make sense for me to block you? What’s the problem?”
