Chapter 51

As soon as Diiria sent the email, she walked over to datum and took a sip of the coffee Autumn had brought her. With a smile, Olivia said, "I do want your help, but I know you’re dying to finish your thesis. I won’t bother you for now."

“Once you’re done, though, I’ll definitely need your help. This job alone is worth ten million dollars. I’d be ashamed if you passed..."

Autumn paused. At that, Olivia had remembered everything she wanted to do. Clearly, Olivia respected her and took her seriously. Damien had never treated her that way. At the beginning, Autumn filed for divorce because she had no other choice. But now, she was more certain than ever that it had been the right decision.

“I’m almost done,” Autumn said with a grin.

Olivia didn’t catch on right away. Two seconds later, realization hit – Autumn was talking about her thesis. Dia gave a sheepish smile. “I can’t compare to you.”

Autumn looked puzzled. Olha added, “You’re just far too brilliant.”

Divia had worried that Autumn might be out of touch after a three-year break, that she might struggle to keep up with the industry’s changes. But those fears were unfounded. Three years ago, Autumn had already been considered a genius ahead of her time. Some people are just born to stand out.

“I’ve been studying harder than ever lately,” Autumn said. “I’ve already finished part of my thesis.”

Olivia chuckled. “Geniuses do learn faster than the rest of us!”

“Exactly.” Autumn didn’t bother with false modesty. After all, she did learn faster than most people.

Just then, Magnus Thatcher knocked on Olivia’s door and entered. “Ms. Clements, your senior from Averpark University has arrived. Would you like to meet her now?”

Earlier, Magnus had received a sudden message from Emilia saying she would be arriving early, since she couldn’t get through security on her own. Magnus had to go downstairs and escort her. He had gone downstairs when Autumn arrived at the office, and consequently, he had no idea what had taken place for the past ten minutes.

Olivia frowned. “Ask Pamela to come in.”

Parela, Olivia’s secretary, entered the room with Magnus. Magnus greeted Olivia, who was seated on the leather couch in the meeting area. Autumn was sitting across from her on the opposite couch, dressed in a smart suit. Because Autumn’s back was facing him, Magnus didn’t recognize her; he had no idea she was there.

As he walked past the open office area, he noticed several colleagues looking unusually excited. He wondered if their reaction had anything to do with Autumn. But there was no time to find out; Emilia was a priority.

After Pamela reviewed the schedule, she frowned. “Her appointment isn’t until next week. Why is she here early? There’s no updated record for her either.”

Magnus explained, “She said something came up; she only told me when she was almost at the building. I got nervous, so I brought her in.”

By the end of his explanation, Magnus sounded a little guilty. He knew he wasn’t supposed to bring someone in without proper clearance.

Olivia chuckled. She had always thought her senior was a fake, and this only deepened that impression. Since her senior from her university had shown up unannounced, Olivia was determined to find out what she really wanted. Remembering Olivia’s earlier request to observe how things worked, she asked, “Do you want me to come with you?”

She disliked her senior’s methods. Even if she was as talented as Autumn, Olivia had no intention of working with her. Decatur rushing in without warning clearly meant she was hoping to pull something. Det. Clivia was that using the short version of "Ducal," and "done, I’ll treat you to lunch."

Mapius Intolivu... (The sentence is incomplete and unintelligible.)

...verting joom. As Harry walked past the cubicles, Olivia noticed several employees huddled together, clearly gossiping.
