Chapter 301
At his words, everyoneโs eyes turned to the man in the suit. He had sharp features, deep amber eyes, and was unbelievably handsome, his smile looking especially sincere.
โWhoโs this?โ someone asked.
Siennaโs brows knitted when she saw it was Thorn. โUgh, my hands are itching to punch him,โ she thought.
Thorn immediately stepped forward. โHello, Mr. and Mrs. Bayer. Iโm Siennaโs brother from overseas. She used to live with my family.โ
He kept his voice low, so only Sienna and a few others could hear.
โSienna, whoโโ Albert murmured.
Seeing their puzzled faces, Sienna stepped up to explain, โGrandpa, Grandma, his name is Thorn Noir. His family saved me after the plane crash.โ
โOh, I see,โ they replied.
After hearing Siennaโs explanation, they finally felt sure Thorn was telling the truth. โGood boy, if it werenโt for you, our granddaughter wouldnโt have made it back home.โ
โMr. and Mrs. Bayer, you really donโt have to thank me. Sienna is my little sister, and itโs only right that I look after her. Thatโs just what I should do,โ Thorn said.
โGood,โ they replied.
Thorn was a real chatterbox and started sharing all sorts of interesting stories about Siennaโs life overseas, quickly drawing the old couple in. They just loved hearing anything about Sienna.
Siennaโs eyes turned icy. Just standing there, she radiated an overwhelming pressure, her bone-chilling presence making it hard for anyone to approach. She fixed her gaze on Thorn.
If Thorn dared to say a single wrong word, sheโd make him regret it. Luckily, Thorn only talked about some harmless little things.
โOh Wayne, youโre here too,โ Marie called out as soon as she spotted Wayne.
Wayne strolled in and nodded. โYes, Mrs. Bayer. Long time no see."
โYes. I heard your grandmother was in the hospital not long ago. Is she doing better now?โ Marie said.
โSheโs all better now; it was just a minor cold,โ Wayne replied.
Wayne looked at Sienna, his eyes gentle yet clearly amazed. She was absolutely gorgeous tonight, and the necklace around her neck made her look even more noble and breathtakingโฆ
โHi, Sienna,โ he said.
โWayne, didnโt Nora come?โ she asked.
Wayne walked over to her. โI was just about to tell you. Ethan took Nora with him. She told me to let you know not to worry. Sheโs helping out with the kids.โ
Sienna asked, curiosity in her eyes. Are they getting back together or something? she wondered. No way, thereโs no chance Nora would change her mind that quickly.
"Theyโre not getting back together. Nora might seem indecisive sometimes, but when she sets her mind to something, sheโs as stubborn as a mule. Plus, Iโve got my people with her, so donโt worry.โ
โWayne, I heard youโre planning to bid on the Ford familyโs building soon?โ
A flicker of disappointment crossed his eyes. โYeah, the Ford familyโs putting their building up for sale. Iโm not sure why.โ
Sienna paused a few seconds. โWhatโs your inside price? Iโll pay double?!โ
Wayne had already braced himself for this when she asked, but hearing her say it out loud still made his heart ache.
โForget about paying double. Itโs 130 million dollars. If you want it, just take it at the original price,โ he said.
Sienna shook her head. โNo, youโre letting me have it before the auction just because of our relationship, and thatโs not fair to you. 150 million dollarsโif thatโs okay, itโs mine. If not, Iโll just bid for it myself.โ
โAlright,โ Wayne replied with a bitter smile. โShe really doesnโt let our relationship get in the way of business,โ he thought.
Julian had absolutely zero intention of taking over the Ford family. The familyโs been going downhill for years, and with Levi running things, it had just been a total disaster.
โSeriously, what the hell has that guy even been up to?โ Wayne thought.
If Julian still had the nerve to go after Sienna like this, there was no way Wayne would ever agree to itโnot for any other reason, because Julian was way too weak and completely useless.
โWhat on earth has he even been doing all these years he was gone?โ Wayne thought. โItโs not like he was out there building anything up.
If he was, there wouldโve been at least some news. If he hadnโt shown up again, I wouldโve honestly thought he died somewhere out there.โ
Sienna knew Julian had zero interest in dealing with the Ford familyโs mess. He had his own thing going on. Practically half the worldโs artifacts were in his collection.
As for money and power, he had more than enough. And with the whole country backing him up, he was untouchable.
His only flaw was that he kept such a low profile that people totally forgot he was once the Ford familyโs prodigy, the kid who got into an overseas university at just six years old.
Julian had just gotten out of his car and barely taken a few steps when a woman suddenly stepped in front of him.
โMr. Ford, hi. Do you remember me? Iโm Nina Clare. I waited for you for three hours at our last meeting, you know. I canโt believe a man like you would stand me up.
โBut itโs fine. Iโm three years older than you, so as your big sister, Iโll let it slide. Now, how about we talk about our marriage?โ she said with a grin.
