Chapter 176: Hats Off to Hideouts
Would Kazon believe me? Sierra pondered. Before she could formulate a plan, Kason had already stopped walking.
โWe need to go through security; Iโll go first!โ Kason said, tossing both his and Sierraโs phones aside, then walking through without any reaction.
Sierra called, โCome on, itโs your turn!โ Then, he came back to help her. Sierra didnโt even know how she managed to walk through; she just let Kason support her, her heart nearly leaping out of her chest.
As she stepped forward, she had already figured out how to handle the situation. Yet, the expected shrill alarm didnโt sound. She waited a moment, heard the sound of a door opening, and then was led inside.
Soon after, Kasonโs voice rang out, โAlright, you can take off your hat now.โ As he said this, Kason reached out to remove Sierraโs hat, but Sierra was quicker and took it off herself.
The room was brightly lit. Sierra glanced around; it was stark white but had a hint of disinfectant, similar to a laboratory. She observed her surroundings without showing any emotion, wondering why her earrings hadnโt been detected. She resisted the urge to touch her earrings and looked around, asking, โWhat is this place?โ
Kason smiled and replied, โMy secret base! Youโre the first outsider to come here. Come on, Iโll show you around!โ As he spoke, he reached for Sierraโs hand, but she dodged it and casually slipped her hands into her coat pockets, lifting her chin, โLead the way.โ Kasonโs expression showed a hint of regret, but he still led her forward.
Just as Sierra had guessed, it was indeed a laboratory; more precisely, an illegal laboratory. Inside, she saw many small animals, all looking miserable, clearly having suffered a lot. Sierra quickly understood, โYouโre researching banned substances.โ
Indeed, her guess was correct. She had suspected Kason was involved in illegal drug research. Since Kason had brought her here, he obviously didnโt intend to keep it a secret. He said, โLetโs go to my room to talk!โ Now that she was here, Sierra wouldnโt refuse. However, once inside the room, she regretted it. She was all too familiar with this room. She had never been here, but she had seen it countless times in videos.
Kason had no intention of hiding anything. Various instruments of torture and other equipment were displayed openly, as if afraid others wouldnโt know his preferences. There was also a large, exaggerated bed covered with shackles and various devices. Sierraโs gaze fell on the bed where Daphne had died; she still remembered her reaching out toward it.
Seeing her staring intently at the bed, Kason couldnโt help but lean in and say, โInterested? If you like, I can get a different bed, any kind you want to play with. Letโs not use this one; itโs too dirty for you.โ
Sierra suppressed the anger in her heart and then looked at Kason. โNo need to change it. Iโm not interested. Of course, if youโre willing to let those be used on you, I might be interested.โ
Kason was taken aback at first, then burst into laughter, โGuess not!โ He enjoyed tormenting others, but he didnโt like being tormented himself. Sierra didnโt sit down; every corner of the place was filled with blood, filth, and unspeakable things.
