Chapter 175: A Dangerous Game
Jonathan heard Kason say, โIโm taking you somewhere special today. Youโll need to wear a blindfold.โ Jonathanโs eyes narrowed. He turned to Mateo, who quickly reassured him, โDonโt worry, we can track her.โ
Back in Kasonโs car, Sierra gave him an indifferent look before pulling her hat lower over her face. โI hope you wonโt let me down this time, Kason. Otherwise, we really wonโt have anything left to talk about.โ She had been entangled with Kason for a long time, yet she still hadnโt gathered any evidence against him. She was done waiting. โDonโt worry. You wonโt be disappointed.โ
Kason licked his lips, then started the car. As he drove, Sierra adjusted her hair, her fingers brushing against her earring. Feeling it still there, she relaxed slightly. She had already informed Jonathan about her movements, and with the tracker in place, she should be safe. Her movements were natural enough that Kason didnโt suspect anything. As he drove, he casually brought up a topic.
โThe police are moving fast. Three days from now, Denise and Bradley will be officially indicted.โ Sierra hadnโt expected that. โHeard Denise isnโt doing too well,โ Kason added.
โIs that so?โ Sierra responded. โKason, are you feeling sorry for her? Of course not.โ
Kason snorted. โSheโs not my type. And with that fragile body, what could she possibly do for me?โ Kasonโs tastes had changed. He used to prefer delicate women, but now he liked them feisty, women who fought back, like Sierra. But no matter how many he found, none gave him the same thrill. Other women, even if they pretended to be strong, always showed fear, disgust, and regret in their eyes. Sierra was different. Her gaze held only excitement or detachment. Thinking about it, Kason shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
Even with Sierra blindfolded, she could feel his disgusting gaze on herโsticky, slimy, like a snake in the dark. She had no patience for him. โKeep your eyes on the road, Kason.โ
โAnd donโt look at me like that. It makes me want to gouge your eyes out.โ Kason chuckled, but he obediently refocused on driving. Meanwhile, in another car, Mateo was in awe. โDamn, our girl is fierce!โ He sighed dramatically. โProfessor Yeager, youโve really lucked out.โ
Jonathan ignored him. If Mateo wasnโt useful, he would have thrown him out of the car by now. Sierra tried to keep track of the route, but after a while, she gave up. Kason was cautious. He was deliberately taking detours, making the journey longer.
After nearly two hours, the car finally stopped. Just as Sierra reached to remove her hat, Kason stopped her. โWait until weโre inside. Also, hand over your communication devices. Security here is strict.โ Sierra hesitated, then handed over her phone.
Kason extended his hand toward her. โIโll guide you.โ She had no choice but to place her hand in his. The moment he grabbed her, goosebumps erupted across her skin. They walked a few steps before Kason suddenly asked, โYou donโt have any other electronic devices, do you?โ
โWhat do you mean?โ Sierraโs heart skipped a beat.
โThis place is heavily monitored. Any tracking devices, recording tools, or cameras will be detected. I just wanted to warn you in advance.โ
Sierraโs heart sank. No wonder no one had ever gathered evidence against Kason; he was too cautious.
Her earringโฆ what should she do?
โNo, I donโt,โ she said, forcing her voice to remain steady. โWhy would I need those things?โ Kason nodded. โOf course, I trust you. Just giving you a heads-up.โ
Then, he continued leading her forward. Sierra kept up her usual demeanor, but inside, her pulse was racing. The earring Jonathan gave her wasnโt just a trackerโit had a camera too. There was no way it would go undetected. How was she going toโฆ
