Chapter 622 Unqualified

The girl glanced at Yunice, then shifted her gaze to the man sitting beside her.

He looked powerful. Magnetic.

Totally different from Tommy.

Honestly? Even more appealing than Tommyโ€ฆ

Her eyes flicked once more, and then she actually picked up her book, nervously walking over.

But instead of stopping by Yunice, she bypassed her and paused beside Wyatt. โ€œHi. Could you help me with a problem? Tommyโ€™s a bit overwhelmedโ€ฆโ€

Yunice looked up, lazily resting her chin in one hand. โ€œWhatโ€™s the question? I can take a look.โ€

The girl pouted and gave Yunice a scornful glance, then forced a sweet smile. โ€œTommy mentioned you earlier, but weโ€™re in the same year, so weโ€™re probably about the same level. This is an advanced questionโ€”itโ€™s way past test difficulty. I doubt you can handle it. Let him help me instead, save everyone time.โ€

Yunice sipped her drink, amused. Did this girl really think Wyattโ€™s face said "highly educated?"

Wyatt didnโ€™t bother being polite. His expression went cold. โ€œMy tutoring comes with a steep price. You sure you can afford it?โ€

The girl smiled confidently. โ€œI donโ€™t mind paying. You can add me on WhatsApp and Iโ€™ll send you a tutoring fee.โ€

Even the most expensive private tutoring didnโ€™t go past a few thousand dollars per session. Getting this manโ€™s WhatsApp would be worth every cent.

Wyatt let out a low chuckle. โ€œYou donโ€™t qualify to be my student.โ€

The girl froze. Her smile collapsed.

Yunice couldnโ€™t hold back a laugh. Wyatt hadnโ€™t even been to college. He had his strengths in business, but academics? Not his thing.

She reached for the girlโ€™s book. โ€œLet me. I wonโ€™t charge you, and I donโ€™t need your WhatsApp.โ€

The girlโ€™s face instantly dropped, but she needed an excuse to back down, so she reluctantly walked back over to Yunice.

She was eager to see what Yunice could do. If she messed up, sheโ€™d have every reason to humiliate her right in front of her boyfriend.

Just imagining it made her giddy.

Yunice glanced at the problem, then began working through it on a blank section of the page.

The girl immediately protested. โ€œHey, donโ€™t scribble in my book! Iโ€™m a clean freak. If you mess this up, Iโ€™m throwing the book away!โ€

Yunice looked up and raised an eyebrow. โ€œIf I get it wrong, Iโ€™ll buy you a new one.โ€

Still not satisfied, the girl sneered, โ€œThis is a custom print. You wonโ€™t be able to replace it.โ€

Wyatt opened his jacket, pulled a checkbook from his inner pocket, and tossed it on the table. โ€œUse this.โ€

The checkbook was slim, and the problem was complicatedโ€”solving it might take an entire page.

Yunice flipped to the back of the checkbook and started writing.

The girl didnโ€™t even watch her solve it. She was too busy sneaking glances at the man beside her.

Who carried a checkbook around? He had to be loaded.

As that thought crossed her mind, a voice cut in. โ€œDone.โ€

The girl snapped out of it. Tommy glanced over too.

Yunice calmly capped the pen, tore out the completed check page, and tucked it into the girlโ€™s book. โ€œThatโ€™s the solution. You can study it later. Youโ€™re smartโ€”Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll figure it out.โ€

The girl stared blankly at the check. There were only three lines of writing.

Just three steps?

Sheโ€™d studied the solution beforehand to show off in front of Tommy, and the standard answer had taken a full page with all the detailed steps.

But Yunice had solved it in just three lines.

Still, the answer was correct.

She felt unsettled. Turning to Tommy, she said, โ€œSenior, Yunice solved it, but Iโ€™m not sure if the steps are valid. Could you check it for me?โ€

โ€œI want to share this with classmates later, and if sheโ€™s wrong, itโ€™ll mislead others and hurt her reputation.โ€

She eyed Wyatt as she spoke, hoping heโ€™d step in and criticize Yuniceโ€”give her a way to keep the conversation going.

But Wyatt just refilled Yuniceโ€™s drink and didnโ€™t even look at her.

Tommy walked over and took the check. โ€œLet me see.โ€

He handled the check carefully, angling it just enough to glimpse the back.

There, the identity of the checkโ€™s account holder was printed.
