Chapter 164
Andrewโs sudden comment instantly darkened the mood for the Stevens family and Harvey.
Harvey replied with a scowl, โAs I said, I was busy securing support the moment Christie was taken. Andrew, why the constant criticism?โ
โEven then, you could have answered your phone,โ Andrew retorted with a cold smile. โOr was that โsupportโ a cover for your fear of Tony?โ
Harveyโs face darkened. Andrew had hit the mark. Humiliated by Tonyโs earlier mockery, and owing him millions, Harvey had been too intimidated to confront him.
โAndrew, youโre a small-time doctor. Iโm letting this slide for Christieโs sake,โ Harvey said smoothly. โYou may not understand the extent of my familyโs influence, but those who know, know.โ
Though seething, Harvey maintained a faรงade of indifference, projecting an image of the Weller familyโs superiority.
Andrew scoffed. โChristina may be naive, but not everyone falls for your empty boasts. I donโt know much about the Weller family, but I do know you wouldnโt dare challenge Tony!โ
Andrewโs blunt honesty shocked the Stevens family.
Irene exploded. โAndrew, if you canโt say anything nice, keep quiet! Who are you to accuse Harvey of fearing Tony?โ
โOh, so he wasnโt afraid?โ Andrew asked with a mocking smile.
โOf course not!โ Irene shouted. โIf Tony were still alive, Harvey would destroy him!โ
Leroy chimed in, โThatโs right! Harvey could kill Tony in an instant! Tony wouldnโt stand a chance!โ
The mother-son duoโs over-the-top performance made the other Stevens family members cringe. Everyone knew Christina was the familyโs prized possessionโbeautiful and brilliant. Ironically, her mother and brother were remarkably foolish.
Harveyโs face twitched as he forced a laugh. โMrs. Stevens, Leroy, youโre exaggerating.โ
If not for Christina, he would have wanted nothing to do with these embarrassing fools who couldnโt recognize Andrewโs provocation.
โCan we stop this?โ Christina frowned. โAndrew, Harvey, please stop arguing. I donโt care who killed Tonyโhe got what he deserved.โ
Harvey smiled. โI agree, Christie. While the Weller family may have played a role in Tonyโs downfall, I never wanted to mention it. Taking credit would seem vain.โ
Leroy exclaimed, filled with admiration, โHarvey is so humble! Heโs such a role model!โ
Irene beamed with pride. โHarvey is absolutely flawless. Heโs the perfect gentleman.โ
