This was almost impossible. Thinking of this, Janessa squinted thoughtfully. “No, this matter definitely isn't that simple. Keep an eye on Madelyn for me. If she does anything suspicious, report to me immediately.”

“Yes, Ms. Sherritt,” Javier nodded slightly before retreating.

Meanwhile, Madelyn went to Thornton Corporation after her classes. Seeing her, Cyrus immediately approached. “Ms. Thornton, it seems Janessa has already started investigating your whereabouts.”

“Is that so?”

After hearing this, Madelyn wasn't surprised. On the contrary, she struggled to suppress a laugh. “Let her be. I seriously doubt she can uncover anything,” she said.

Cyrus smiled slightly. “You’re brilliant, Ms. Thornton.”

Actually, Madelyn had been helping Cheryl extensively lately. However, she always instructed Cyrus to be discreet and leave no trace. Cyrus, being smart, acted efficiently and cautiously. Additionally, Septimus had been covering for Madelyn, making investigation futile. Therefore, Madelyn didn't care about the situation at all. But she imagined Janessa must be fuming. With this thought, Madelyn grinned. “I’m just giving you a taste of your own medicine, Janessa. Just you wait and see. The real show is yet to come.”

In the afternoon, at the Sherritt residence, Janessa returned home only to encounter a major event. A sudden roar broke the manor's silence. “What’s going on here?”

It turned out Cheryl was presenting evidence to Rupert, proving her mother had been wronged. “Dad, you can see for yourself. Mom was framed. Please forgive her,” Cheryl pleaded, looking aggrieved.

Finally vindicated, Scarlet cried, “Rupert, you know I was wronged. Please forgive me. I’ve been so miserable…”

Cheryl nodded repeatedly. “Dad, this was all Janessa’s scheme to sabotage Mom and ruin your relationship. She did this on purpose.”

Could it be the evidence of me framing Scarlet had been discovered? Before she could finish thinking, Rupert roared, “Unbelievable!”

Rupert glared at Janessa, livid. “Janessa, how dare you plot against your mother and our family! You’ve gone too far!”

“…I didn’t…” Janessa stammered, hastily trying to defend herself.

“Didn’t you? I have solid evidence here. What more do you have to say?” Cheryl threw out the evidence of Janessa’s collusion with Moana Corporation.

Seeing the evidence, Janessa’s eyes widened; she was speechless.

“Dad, we can’t let her continue like this!” Cheryl quickly added fuel to the fire. “She’s doing all this to secure her position in the company. Even the board members are starting to favor her. If the company falls into the hands of such a scheming woman… who knows what will happen?”

“Impossible!” Rupert was furious. “The thing I despise most is betrayal and disloyalty. The last press conference was crucial for our company, but you caused a scene. Where is your loyalty to our family?”

“Dad… I didn’t do it,” Janessa stammered anxiously, but Rupert was done listening.

“Enough! I don’t want to hear your excuses. You’ve crossed the line, and I won’t tolerate it!” Rupert turned to the butler. “From now on, Janessa is no longer a member of the Sherritt family. She is not allowed to set foot in this house ever again.”

“No, Dad!” Janessa was terrified at the thought of being expelled. She dropped to her knees, clutching his pants, begging for mercy. “Dad, I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I promise I’ll never do it again! I’m still part of the family. If you kick me out, what will I do? Please, Dad…”

However, Rupert had made up his mind. He waved his hand, ordering the servants. “What are you waiting for? Drag this wretched girl out!”

“Yes.” The servants rushed forward, grabbing Janessa and forcibly carrying her out. Even as they carried her out the door, Janessa’s desperate cries could still be heard: “Cheryl, this isn’t over!”

For years, she had viewed Janessa as a thorn in her side. Now, having finally driven the despicable woman out of the family, how could she not feel elated?

“Rupert, do you believe me now? I was wronged,” Scarlet said, looking pitifully at Rupert.

“It’s okay, as long as you know the truth and that I’ve been wrongly accused. I would never betray you,” Scarlet said gently.

Cheryl smiled, and the three of them reconciled happily. Later, Cheryl shared this with Madelyn over the phone, who couldn't stop laughing.

“Serves her right. That’s what she gets for messing with me?”

“You’re brilliant, Madelyn. Let’s see if she dares to be smug now!” Cheryl flattered.

Madelyn laughed, imagining Janessa fuming with anger. “Why are you laughing so happily? What are you talking about?” A robust voice echoed from the entrance.

Upon seeing Derek, Madelyn said to the person on the other end of the phone, “Let’s talk later.”
