Chapter 243
Natalie shouted, โTiana, quickly throw the fish away!โ
โOkay!โ Tiana tossed the fish behind her.
Then the sea eel turned and chased after it.
Tiana collapsed to the ground, almost crying out of fear.
She thought, โOh noโฆ Itโs so scary. Danger is everywhere. First, a shell bumped my foot, and now a sea eel chases after me.โ
โThat pesky eel! It swam right up to the shore just to chase after food.โ
Murray rushed over with a bucket, helped Tiana up, and watched the eel wolf down the fish.
He was shocked, wondering, โIs it really this dangerous even on the beach?โ
Murray said, โDamn it! Tiana, itโs not safe even on the beach. Iโd better not go fishing. Letโs wait for them to catch it. If an eel bites us, thatโs bad news.โ
Tiana was terrified.
She said, โMr. Spencer, for safety, letโs fish from the ship. I almost got bitten in the face by a jumping eel. Itโs terrifying. Letโs get back to the ship quickly.โ
Tiana looked at Murray with tears, still in fear.
Seeing her teary face, Murray felt sorry for her and said, โAlright, letโs get back on the ship. I think itโs quite scary too.โ Then they got onto the ship with the lobsters.
Xavier shook his head, a smile playing on his lips, as he thought, โJust one eel has frightened both of them quite a bit.โ
Xavier loved fishing and stood by the sea in a relaxed manner. Shortly after casting his line, he felt a tug and reeled in a grouper, smiling with happiness.
He thought, โOh, if I could come here every month to relax, that would be great.โ
Over the past two years, even getting a good nightโs sleep had become a luxury for Xavier.
Easton, meanwhile, was swimming in the ocean the entire time.
Watching Natalie reel in fish one after another, he waited beside her for her to bring them in.
At this moment, Easton felt more relaxed than ever.
It had been a long time since he had felt so joyful.
Coming here was the right decision. At least he wouldnโt have more conflicts with Natalie.
Natalie surfaced with a large octopus in her hand and exhaled deeply. She said, โEaston, hurry, this octopus is huge. Letโs stir-fry it tonight.โ
Seeing all the seafood, Natalie was so excited that she forgot about her dislike for Easton.
She came out here to unwind, not to fight with anyone.
Easton noticed Natalieโs flushed cheeks and said with a smile, โNatalie, do you want to take a break?โ
Natalie shook her head and said, โNo, I just found a lobster nest. Iโll catch these first.โ
With that said, Natalie plunged back into the water.
Easton watched her joyful figure and smiled.
As he watched her happy figure, his eyes turned affectionate.
After three hours of diving, Natalie finally felt tired.
She came ashore, looked at the dozens of sea creatures, and turned to Easton, saying, โEaston, Iโll sell you 10 for 300 thousand dollars. Remember to transfer the money to me.โ
Natalie took off her goggles, revealing faint red marks around her eyes. Easton frowned slightly and said, โAlright, Iโll have Xavier transfer the money to you when we get back, along with an additional 30 thousand dollars. And youโre in charge of dinner tonight.โ
Natalie thought, โOh, who would ever complain about having too much money? Being rich is absolutely wonderful. If Iโm not making money when I can, Iโll be a fool.โ
Natalie said, โAlright, Iโll take care of dinner. Iโm going to take a shower and a nap; I still need to do some night fishing.โ
Then Natalie stepped onto the ship with an easy grace.
Easton watched Natalie walk away. Then he looked at his injured arm, feeling a bit downhearted. It seemed she really didnโt care about him anymore.
In the past, even if Easton just had a small cut on his finger, Natalie would worry for ages and use the best ointment on him. But now, even though Natalie was aware of the deep cut on his arm, she didnโt show any concern.
Easton sat on the beach basking in the sun.
He gazed at something afar, his expression growing more serious.
Xavier saw that Easton was in a bad mood, so he didnโt bother him.
In the afternoon, the chef Murray brought along made lots of delicious food โ grilled, boiled, and steamed. Every seafood dish was really fresh.
Easton and Xavier also got on the ship to join for the meal.
Natalie invited them, so Murray didnโt raise any objections, but he wasnโt friendly with Easton.
Easton didnโt pay attention to Murrayโs expression. He gracefully enjoyed his dinner. The oatmeal was made by Natalie. He hadnโt had it in ages, and tonight, he finally had a satisfying meal.
Tiana wasnโt happy with Easton either, but Natalie, having earned money from him, was eating happily.
Natalie glanced at her phone and said, โMurray, the tide wonโt go out until after 2 a.m. You can sleep first. Iโm used to diving at night.โ
After Natalie finished speaking, she heard Tiana say, โNatalie, donโt go in. Wicked Jen is here; letโs go back. We canโt deal with her, but we can certainly avoid her. Keeping our distance is the only way to stay safe.โ
If Tiana had been alone last night, her reputation wouldโve been ruined.
Natalie looked puzzled and asked, โWicked Jen?โ
Murray explained, โOh, itโs Jennifer. Sheโs here, so letโs just switch islands or head back. No one wants to die at sea.โ
Natalie looked outside and, as expected, there was Jennifer. She was standing at the bow of the ship, dressed in a very alluring manner that highlighted her flawless figure.
Frowning, Natalie said, โAlright, letโs go back.โ
Easton observed the three people, slightly furrowing his brow, and pondering, โAre they really that afraid of Jennifer?โ Xavier also felt a bit nervous, as if Jennifer was watching him closely. He said, โWellโฆ Ms. Shawn, myโฆ My stomach hurts.
โMaybe I caught a chill from fishing in the sea before. Could you take me back as well? I donโt feel itโs safe for me to stay here. Iโm worried I might pass out from the pain.โ
Natalie looked at Xavier puzzled. He had just eaten two bowls of oatmeal and two lobsters. How could he have a stomachache?
However, Xavier gazed at Natalie with pleading eyes, too afraid to stay with Easton for fear that it might cost him his life. Natalie looked at Easton and said coldly, โIf Mr. Garcia agrees, you can leave with us.โ
Xavier smiled and said, โMr. Garcia, Iโm not feeling well, so Iโll head back now and wonโt bother you and Ms. Simpson anymore.โ
Easton said angrily, looking at them, โXavier, letโs head back together then.โ
Hearing this, Xavier let out a sigh of relief.
Going back was a good idea. On land, Jennifer couldnโt hold her own against him.
Murray said, โMr. Garcia, Mr. Kane, you should head back to your ship. Weโre about to set sail.โ
As Easton and Xavier got off the ship, Jennifer blocked their way. She complained, โEaston, why didnโt you take me on your boat trip?โ
Eastonโs tall figure looked even more striking in the sunset. He hadnโt told Jennifer where he was, so how did she find him?
Easton squinted, musing, โJennifer always manages to track me down. Upon reflection, Iโm starting to suspect that itโs not just a coincidence every time.
โSo, thereโs only one possibility: someone close to me is connected to Jennifer, and itโs not just one person.โ Recently, Easton had been probing the situation, and as expected, Jennifer reappeared.
Easton frowned, his voice cold and intimidating as he asked, โHow did you know I was here?โ
