Chapter 242
Tiana had heard from her dad about Easton. If William had gone too far, he might have ended up in prison.
William was notorious as a playboy with many illegitimate children.
To prevent the illegitimate children from returning to claim the inheritance, Vernon gave all the assets to Easton, whom he had raised personally.
Although William was a jerk, he respected Vernon and wouldnโt let his illegitimate children trouble his parents. Officially, Easton was Vernon and Anneโs only grandson.
Easton had many stories to tell. However, no one was aware of what ultimately became of his mother.
Tiana suggested, โMr. Spencer, maybe we should be more polite to him later. You said heโs ruthless behind the scenes. What if he decides to deal with both our families? Weโd have no way to defend ourselves.โ
Damian warned Tiana not to provoke Easton, and to endure the hatred no matter how strong it was.
Though Tianaโs company was promising, it was nothing compared to giants like the Garcia Group.
The Spencer family posed a formidable challenge to the Garcia family, yet Murray lacked the unyielding determination that Easton possessed.
Murray was trembling with anger and demanded, โWhy do we have to tolerate a jerk? He hurt Natalie so deeply, and Iโm going to kill him!โ
Murrayโs eyes, usually warm and inviting, now burned with the fire of fury.
Tiana couldnโt help but laugh at his bravado and said, โAlright, Iโll just sit back and watch you do it.โ
Murray was astounded and pondered, โYouโre really wise.โ
As Eastonโs boat docked, he gracefully stepped off, protected by his bodyguards.
Easton glanced at Murray with sharp eyes and asked seriously, โWhereโs Natalie?โ
โHmph! Scram, jerk,โ Murray muttered as he gathered his fishing gear, resolved to catch a bountiful haul of fish today.
Easton watched Murray in silence and chose not to ask more.
Xavier came down with his fishing gear, gazing at the vast blue sea, feeling relaxed like he hadnโt in a long time.
Xavier commented, โMr. Garcia, the beautiful scenery is incredibly soothing.โ
Easton took a deep breath and removed his sunglasses, just in time to see Natalie emerge from the water.
In her net bag, there were six big lobsters.
She swam toward the shore with all her strength.
Natalie shouted, โMurray, come over here! The resources are great; I caught six lobsters all in one place, and I really love these lobsters!โ
Murray ran into the ocean with a bucket, laughing as he collected the lobsters Natalie had caught and put them inside.
โWowโฆโ Murray was amazed; each lobster was over a pound, and he was so excited he didnโt know what to do.
This was his first encounter with lobsters so fresh and large.
โNatalie, youโre really incredible,โ Murray said, deciding he would learn to dive so he could join Natalie in the water catching fish.
Natalie smiled and suddenly looked up to see Easton standing on the shore, which made her pause in surprise.
Murray understood why Natalie was surprised. He turned to look at Easton and said unhappily, โNatalie, I didnโt know he was coming.โ
Natalie asked, โHas Jennifer arrived? If Jenniferโs here, letโs move somewhere else because sheโs been after you.โ
Murray suddenly turned nervous. He answered, โNo, I havenโt seen her.โ
Hearing this, Natalie breathed a sigh of relief. She was also afraid of Jennifer because she was a heartless and cruel woman.
Natalie pointed at the lobsters and said, โPut them in the fridge. Let your chef handle them for dinner tonight."
โI saw a stingray. It was too big, and I was worried it might drag me into the sea, but I spotted some coral trout. Iโll catch a few for a steamed fish dinner tonight.โ
Murray was thrilled and remarked, โThatโs great, Natalie! Thanks for your hard work. Iโll have my chef make the most delicious seafood for you.โ
Natalie smiled and dove into the water again.
The water was so clear that they could see where Natalie was diving.
Easton changed into his swimsuit and went into the sea.
The wound on his arm was visible. He squinted, looking at Natalie with a smile.
Murray looked at Easton and asked, โWhat are you doing?โ
Easton replied coldly, โSwimming.โ
Murray pointed at his injured arm and said, โEaston, youโre hurt. What do you think youโre doing going down there? Trying to attract sharks?"
โNatalie is really happy today. Donโt go disturbing her. Youโre so mean.โ
Easton frowned and thought, โAm I mean?โ
Murray glanced at the boat and asked warily, โEaston, is Jennifer here too?โ
Easton replied seriously, โNo.โ
Murray replied, โOh! Then Iโm relieved. Youโre more upfront than Jennifer. At least you wonโt attack us at sea. If she were here, we should head back.โ
Easton furrowed his brows and asked, โAre you really that afraid of her?โ
Murray laughed bitterly and said, โHow could I not be afraid? Sheโs like a poisonous snake, a perfect match for you. I wish you both a long life together, but make sure you never harm the innocent again.โ
Easton was furious.
Murray stuck out his tongue at Easton before turning to take the lobsters to the ship.
Easton frowned, thinking. Last night, Natalie was in danger. Jennifer is really the mastermind.
โWhy does she insist on killing Natalie?'
โIs it just because she wants to marry me?'
Easton saw that Natalie had already caught a grouper.
She dragged it towards the shore, swimming with the exuberance of a playful fish.
Easton plunged into the water and swam over.
Then Natalie spat out a mouthful of seawater.
Suddenly, she saw a handsome face up close.
โOh! You scared me,โ Natalie said as she quickly backed away from Easton, who had appeared out of nowhere.
Seeing his arm wrapped in bandages, Natalie frowned and asked, โEaston, do you even realize what youโre doing? Youโve still got a wound on your arm. Why did you jump down?โ
It seemed Easton just didnโt know how to look after himself.
Easton chuckled softly and asked, โDo you still care about me?โ
Natalie laughed in disbelief and said, โEaston, do you hear yourself? Do you know how hard I worked to save your life? You nearly died in a fire and then in a car crash, and I almost got eaten by wolves!"
โIf thereโs a next time, I wonโt save you.โ
Natalie shot Easton a fierce glare.
Easton chuckled, his hair damp from the sea, making his features even more striking. โNatalie, hand me the fish,โ he said with a charming smile.
Natalie frowned and said, โIf you want to eat fish, go catch it yourself.โ
Easton raised an eyebrow and said, โIโll pay you.โ
Natalie gave a bright, charming smile and said, โAlright! Thirty thousand dollars per fish.โ
Eastonโs eyes gleamed with amusement. He said, โDeal.โ
Natalie thought, โIs Easton crazy or what, coming here just to get himself scolded?โ
Knowing Easton was rich, Natalie handed him the fish and said, โHold on, Iโll catch more. Today Iโm earning 300 thousand dollars.โ
Natalie tossed the fish to Easton and swam back into the ocean depths.
โOhโฆ Natalie, help! Thereโs a giant sea eel chasing me!โ Tiana screamed wildly, running towards Murray, clutching a freshly caught fish.
