Chapter 229
When Jennifer heard this, she was already annoyed with Xavier. This Xavier kept siding with Natalie.
Easton was a suspicious person. She asked, "Mr. Kane, how much did Natalie offer you to speak for her and always think of her? Or have you two been involved all along? Otherwise, why have you been defending Natalie from the start?"
Easton frowned as he looked at Xavier. It did make sense; Xavier had been defending Natalie from the very beginning.
Xavier glanced at Easton, knowing well that Eastonโs suspicious nature would definitely make him doubt him.
"Ms. Simpson, are you trying to stir things up between me and Mr. Garcia again? I have no connection with Ms. Shawn, I just canโt stand your malicious attitude." He furrowed his brows slightly, feeling sad seeing Eastonโs suspicious gaze.
Easton was suspecting him. He really disliked Easton too. It was clear that only Natalie was willing to love him, yet he still pushed away the one who loved him the most.
Jennifer was furious. Xavier hadnโt experienced her venom yet.
She felt even more wronged. She said, "Mr. Kane, Iโm just surprised. Why do you always side with Natalie! Did I say anything wrong today? It was obviously Natalie who helped Tiana ruin my brotherโs wedding.
โBesides, those little spats before were just minor tricks between us women. Donโt you guys also have such rivalries? Natalie just canโt accept losing and blames it all on me.โ
Xavier kept silent; he didnโt want to say anything more. He was paid to do the job. If Easton didnโt want to trust him, he would just stay quiet.
Easton said nothing, opened the car door, and got in. Xavier opened the car door, got in, and drove away.
Jennifer watched as Eastonโs car drove away, her eyes filled with gloom. She thought, โEaston, you promised to marry meโdonโt think you can just leave me like that.โ
But she couldnโt shake the feeling that she was losing her grip on Easton. If push came to shove, sheโd have to find another way to make Easton obey her wishes.
Jennifer narrowed her eyes, realizing she needed to speed up her plan. Those two old geezers from the Garcia family ought to be dead. Easton should completely detest Natalie by this point.
When he returned, he had to take over Eastonโs position; otherwise, all her efforts would be for nothing.
Easton was determined to repay Natalieโs kindness with hostility, and he intended to follow through.
Jennifer gritted her teeth and thought, โNatalie, Iโm definitely sending you to hell.โ
Jennifer took out her phone and called Oliver, "Oliver, arrange a hypnotist."
Oliver said, "Ms. Simpson, are you planning to make a move on Easton?" Oliver was the person arranged to advise Jennifer, always by her side offering strategies.
Jenniferโs eyes were filled with murderous intent. "Yes! While he still has some trust in me." She hung up the phone, a malicious smile spreading across her face.
In the car, Easton looked at the silent Xavier and casually remarked, "Xavier, youโre the person I trust the most."
Xavier was surprised, then he smiled.
Chapter 229
โItโs enough that Mr. Garcia trusts inc.โ Xavierโs gloomy mood lifted instantly.
Easton looked at him in the rearview mirror, "Xavier, do a scene with Jennifer."
"But if you do this, you might end up putting Ms. Shawn..."
โThereโs no need to say more, just do as I say.โ Easton interrupted coldly, then closed his eyes.
80:
Not far away, Wendy watched Jennifer with increasing hatred in her eyes. So, Khloe was arranged by Jennifer.
She could only blame her foolish son and her poor judgment of people.
Wendy closed her eyes, thinking that without Natalieโs warning, she would have spent her life being deceived.
Nora said. "Mrs. Simpson, weโve traced the transferred money, it was moved by Ms. Simpson, but we donโt know where she sent it.โ
Wendyโs eyes suddenly opened wide. "Was it Lindya who helped her?"
Nora nodded slightly. "Yes, it was her. The funds being transferred put our company in a tough spot."
Wendy took a deep breath. Thankfully, she had prepared ahead of time; otherwise, the company would have been gone by now. There were too many of Jenniferโs people in the company, so she could only short the company.
Wendy said, "Letโs go, and keep it low-key. For now, donโt alert Lindya. Get the evidence and put her behind bars."
Nora nodded. "Okay!"
The next day. On a deserted island.
The calm sea lay like a huge mirror, quietly spreading between the sky and earth, reflecting the clear blue sky and the pristine white clouds.
The gentle waves swayed softly as the sunlight sparkled on the waterโs surface, making one feel refreshed, as if all worries had disappeared.
The sea breeze was still cool. Natalie tested the water temperature, and it felt just right. She had taken an hour-long speedboat ride to come here for some fishing.
She put on her gear and glasses, which had a camera attached, capturing every moment of her adventure.
Pointing at the fishing rod, she said to Tiana at the shore. Itโs a calm day today. Give it a try, and you might have some unexpected catches,โ
Tiana was thrilled. "Sure!"
She pointed at the large box on the speedboat. "Natalie, tomorrow itโs all up to you. See that big box? We have to come back with a full load."
Natalie chuckled. There are plenty of fish under the sea that I love to eat. Iโm diving in; you can wait for me up here. The visibility is excellentโI can see some squid and octopus."
โI love octopus. If you find any, donโt let them get away." Tiana said from the shore, where the water was slightly chilly, prompting her to step back.
Chapter 229
โOkay!โ Natalie dived into the water, which was so clear that Tiana could still see her.
She snapped a picture with her phone, capturing Natalie looking just like a mermaid. She admired her so much but couldnโt do what she did.
Natalie was amazing at catching fish with her bare hands. She took a net and dove in. After swimming a few meters, she found a conch.
Natalie was thrilled, she picked it up and placed it in her net.
Today, she actually wanted to catch some yellowfin tuna for sashimi. Unfortunately, there was no chance of finding any here; catching a fish like that would be tough.
This diving area was full of parrotfish. Natalieโs movements were gentle and quiet as she sneaked up and caught two of them.
After picking up two clams, she noticed how beautiful the nearby coral reef was. This kind of terrain often had lobsters. She came up to catch her breath and returned the items to the speedboat. She saw Tiana had caught a small fish and was pulling it up with effort. Natalie chuckled, placed the goods in a box, and dove back in.
Not far away, on a boat. Vance was intensely staring at Khloe and her lover.
โKhloe, just give me back my money and Iโll let you go.โ Vance had chased her from the wedding site all the way to the sea. When he saw Khloe and the man sailing away in a boat, he had silently boarded it as well.
He was enraged when he saw them about to do something awful on the boat, so he revealed himself.
He had been hiding for an entire day and night. After chasing Khloe for a whole year, she ended up deceiving him. He was totally angry.
After leaving the wedding venue, he felt as if he were soulless.
He waited around until it got dark, and when there was no one else around, he finally realized how ridiculous todayโs events were.
