Chapter 228

Jennifer was so infuriated by those words that she gaped, her face twisted with anger. She thought, ‘Damn it! Tiana, I’m definitely going to get my revenge!’

Seeing Jennifer like this, Tiana felt only one thing–satisfaction! Awesome!

“Natalie, let’s go,” Tiana said with the smugness of a winner, holding her head high as she confidently pulled Natalie away.

Natalie didn’t give Easton a second glance as she followed Tiana out.

Outside the hotel, under the clear sky, Tiana looked at Natalie. “Natalie, how do you feel?”

With fiery red lips and a bright smile, Natalie said, “Feeling pretty good. Tiana, you were so right, it’s hard to advise someone who’s bound for trouble. Since we couldn’t stop Vance, he chose his own path.”

Tiana said, “Yeah! I hope he enjoys this surprise. I kept warning him, but he always thought I was jealous of Khloe. Anyway, it’s good we’re leaving.”

“Easton and those folks from the Simpson family are such jerks! Let’s head back to the island, and your ten male models are still waiting there.”

“I know you haven’t been up to much lately. Why don’t you come hang out with me for a couple of days? I know you love free diving. I checked the weather, and it’s perfect for the next two days. After that, it will be too chilly to go in the sea.”

Natalie thought for a moment. Lambert wasn’t home, and the designs could be put off for a bit.

“Great! I’ll head out today. Just need to grab my gear first.” Natalie thought for a second, deciding to take a couple of days to relax. Vance was going to have a tough time soon, but she had no idea where he fell into the water. Not that it mattered to her.

“Come on, let me introduce you to another handsome guy. You’ll definitely like him!” Tiana eagerly tugged at Natalie. There are plenty of amazing guys out there!

Just as Natalie was about to leave, someone grabbed her wrist.

Natalie turned around and saw it was Easton. His hand was warm, and that warmth spread to her heart.

It had been days since she’d last seen Easton. Every time she saw him, his handsome face always left a strong, captivating impression on her.

Easton’s unique looks hardly allowed any woman to guard her heart.

She furrowed her brows. “Mr. Garcia, let me go.”

Easton frowned. “Are you going to meet a guy?”

Natalie said, “What I do is none of your business. You should go comfort your beloved. She got upset with Tiana earlier, and I worry she might get angry enough to end up at the hospital, leaving Mr. Garcia’s heart aching even more.”

Easton snapped, “Natalie, talk to me properly.” Her unfamiliar attitude made his chest ache.

Nowadays, Natalie’s hot-and-cold demeanor left him increasingly puzzled.

Natalie said, “Oh, come on! Wasn’t I just trying to be understanding about how much you care for your Jennifer? Before, when I told you not to go, you said I was overreacting.”

“Now that I’m being considerate, you’re saying I’m not speaking properly? Mr. Garcia, I’m really curious, what exactly do you want from me?”

Easton paused, with an intense look in his eyes. “Don’t go, and I've something to say to you.”

Natalie frowned. “Sorry, other than the divorce, I have nothing to discuss with you. Let me go.”

Instead of letting go, Easton held on even tighter.

Natalie said, “Easton, you’re hurting me!”

Hearing that, Easton loosened his grip significantly.

Looking into Natalie’s mesmerizing and striking eyes, he said, “You can’t go find other men.”

Tiana said, “Mr. Garcia, you’ve got serious double standards. When you’re hugging and cuddling with your sweetheart and hurting Natalie, do you ever remind yourself that you’re married?”

Easton gave Tiana a cold glance. Tiana was frightened and hid behind Natalie. Even though she enjoyed the verbal jabs, she was still quite scared of Easton. His eyes were cold.

Natalie blocked Easton’s view. “If there’s anything, aim it at me. Don’t hurt Tiana.”

“Do I come across as someone who casually harms others?” Easton couldn’t help but ask, and he wondered what Natalie really thought of him.

Natalie said, “You felt free to hurt me as a wife, let alone anyone else.”

Easton gazed deeply into her eyes. “What happened before was my fault…”

Natalie stared at him with piercing eyes. “Do you think a simple ‘my fault’ can heal all the pain I’ve been through?”

Easton, feeling guilty, let go of her hand. His arm was injured, and he winced slightly.

Natalie noticed that he was hurt. She looked at Easton’s arm. Being a doctor, she detected a faint scent of blood.

Just like in the past, he had established some influence overseas. This trip was to completely gain control over those people, and he returned with injuries.

He was powerful; she couldn’t confront him, so she just avoided him.

Easton met her gaze and realized she knew he was injured.

“Natalie, I’ll make it up to you for all the past hurts,” he said, his tone much gentler.

Natalie shook her head and rejected him deliberately, “I don’t want your compensation, and you don’t deserve it! Why should I take back a tainted man? You and Jennifer are a perfect match, so please stay together for good.”

After finishing her words, Natalie left with Tiana. She really couldn’t stand Easton anymore.

Easton stood there, stunned, watching Natalie walk away. She knew everything and was even less willing to forgive him. Her eyes were filled with deep hatred. Natalie despised him.

In the past, when he was hurt, she’d feel sorry for him and used the best medicine to gently take care of his injuries. Easton’s heart ached with a growing desire to make Natalie his own. He narrowed his eyes coldly.

Xavier saw everything that had just happened and shook his head slightly. He thought, That guy’s got no chance.

“Mr. Garcia, we have two important video meetings this afternoon. We should go back to the office,” Xavier reminded him.

Easton murmured. “She knows I’m hurt, but she doesn’t care like she used to.”

“Mr. Garcia, Ms. Shawn has moved on. Her heart is shattered. Even before, when she tried to care for you, you didn’t appreciate it…”

“Shut up,” Easton said with a cold look.

“Let’s go to the office,” Easton said, walking towards the car parked by the roadside.

As they reached the entrance, Easton turned to Xavier. “Hasn’t that man been found yet?”

Xavier shook his head. “No, there’s been no trace since then. I’m starting to think those photos might have been fake, sent by Jennifer on purpose to drive a wedge between you and Ms. Shawn.”

Easton furrowed his brows. That man looked exactly like him. If it weren’t for the photo on Natalie’s phone, he would have always trusted Jennifer.

“Then let’s wait for six months.” Easton also wanted to know if what Natalie said was true.

“Easton,” Jennifer ran out looking upset. She approached him and asked, “Easton, are you leaving?”

“Yeah,” Easton nodded slightly.

“Easton, everything that happened today was planned by Natalie and Tiana. Poor Vance’s wedding was ruined just like that!” Xavier couldn’t help but say, “Ms. Simpson, you’re mistaken. Your brother’s downfall was well-deserved.”
