Chapter 227

Hearing that familiar voice, Khloe’s face instantly turned pale, and the last bit of her composure seemed to break apart. The cold voice was like a thunderbolt, leaving her motionless, staring blankly at the tall figure slowly approaching the doorway. He was holding a little girl’s hand.

Khloe knew that today was truly the end for her, as muscles in her face visibly trembled. As the man came closer, she stared at him in a daze, her eyes fixed.

Tiana chuckled and sent out a message to share some even more sensational news.

Soon, a large screen on stage began to show a wedding photo of Khloe and another man. Upon closer look, it was indeed the man who had come in with the little girl.

Dressed simply, he looked at Khloe with uncontrollable anger boiling in his veins.

The man’s long–held anger erupted like a volcano. “Khloe, you haven’t even divorced me yet, so how can you split assets with your current husband?” His thunderous voice echoed throughout the hall.

Truman, Khloe’s real husband, looked at Vance and said mockingly, "This woman has scammed so many people through fake marriages, taking their money. Mr. Simpson, look at the wedding photo of us, and tell me, do you think the video is edited?"

Vance blinked, tears flowing uncontrollably. So, everything was a lie. His face went as pale as snow; his chest heaved as he glared at Khloe full of resentment.

His furious slap hit Khloe, and he shouted, almost breaking down, “A marriage scam? Khloe, how could you?”

Khloe sneered. “Why wouldn’t I? With fools like you, I’ve been stringing you along, and you chased after me for a year. But don’t blame me, blame those who don’t like you, or blame your own stupidity.”

Khloe realized it was over for her. Her top priority was to escape; she had already moved the entire dowry elsewhere.

She turned to Truman, her eyes full of mockery. “Truman, you’re nothing but useless. If you were willing to fight your brother for the family inheritance, would I leave you and our daughter?”

Truman ignored her and looked down at his daughter, whose face was already wet with tears. “Morris, do you still want a mom like this?”

Morris shook her head, tears streaming down. “Dad, I don’t want a mom like this anymore. I’m never looking for another mom again. The new mom you found for me is great, and I like her a lot.”

One had to admit, kids really knew how to hit where it hurt. Hearing Morris say she’d accept another woman as her mom almost made Khloe explode with anger.

Khloe said, “You ungrateful little brat. If you were a son, I could have secured my place in the Halford family. You’ve cost me my chance, so how dare you stand in front of me? Wanting another mom, you’re really ungrateful.”

Truman kept his hands over her daughter’s ears and looked coldly at Khloe. “Don’t worry,” he said. “I brought her to see you for the last time today. From now on, you’ll never want to see her." After saying that, he took his daughter’s hand and left.

Nick was so furious he could hardly breathe. It was extremely humiliating. Even though he knew the plan, it was still his son after all. It was incredibly embarrassing.

“That woman is so vicious, abandoning her husband and child for wealth and fame. She’ll do anything to get what she wants.”

“That’s true! That poor little girl earlier – if she were a boy, her mom would probably drain him for life.”

“What on earth did the Simpson family do to deserve being targeted by such a leech?"

“Poor Vance is really unlucky, dealing with such a cruel woman. Look at that smug face of hers, acting like everyone owes her something. She’s a disgrace to women. Can’t she just live a peaceful life anywhere?”

The hall was buzzing with mixed opinions and chaos.

John and Sasha, Vance’s grandparents, were both humiliated and furious. They wished they could find a room to hide in. Listening to the chatter, they couldn’t even muster the courage to say anything, except seethe with anger.

They simply couldn’t endure this level of embarrassment.

Vance, having calmed down a bit, suppressed his intense anger and addressed the crowd. “Dear friends and family, today’s wedding is canceled. Your gifts will be returned. Lunch is ready next door, so please go over there to have your meal.”

Khloe heard that the wedding was off and furiously shouted, “Vance, is this how little your love for me means? Sure, I’ve been married and had a kid, but are you only interested in my past?"

“You say you love me every day, but as soon as you find out I’ve been married before, your love disappears? You’re just like those jerks, no different at all. Cancel it if you want. Without you, I can definitely find someone better!”

Before Vance could say anything, Khloe ran off. Vance chased after her, determined to get the money back. There was no way he would let someone like her take off with his money.

Natalie and Tiana stood up. The show was over, and it was time for them to leave. But Jennifer blocked their way, furious. Nick saw Natalie and was instantly angry. “Natalie, did wrecking Vance’s wedding make you happy?”

Natalie gave him an icy look. “Did I ruin it? Are your eyes failing, or is there something wrong with your mind? Every time you see me, why do you hurry to blame everything on me?”

Nick choked on his anger. “What’s with your attitude? Is this how you talk to me?”

Natalie’s voice was cold. “I match your attitude. I’ve already warned you, don’t mess with me, or I’ll have no problem announcing your dirty secrets to the world.”

Nick was taken aback. He thought, ‘What secrets?’

He’d done many shady things but has kept them well hidden. He thought, ‘How can Natalie possibly know?”

Tiana looked at Nick with a scornful expression, even though he was her elder. But she couldn’t bring herself to respect him, because he didn’t deserve it.

Tiana said, “Natalie, let’s go. You can’t reason with him. He and Jennifer always stick together. Even if you’re right, those two will back each other up. As the saying goes, they’re shameless enough to scare even ghosts.”

“Tiana, how can you speak like that? Just because Vance didn’t want to marry you, aren’t you thinking about your own faults? Are you taking revenge because Vance turned you down?” Nick was shameless and knew how to hit where it hurt.

Tiana laughed in anger, looking at his flushed face, and replied with a grateful smile, “I should really thank your son. If he hadn’t blamed me so many times, I might still like him the same as before."

“Once I understood his true nature, I wasn’t upset at all. In the future, I’ll meet someone better, and my future father–in–law will definitely not be someone like you.

“Also, I’m great, I’m exceptional. It’s your son who isn’t good enough for me.”

“You…” Nick’s face turned pale with rage, and he stumbled back a couple of steps.

“Tiana, you ruined my brother’s wedding and still have the nerve to speak like that?" Jennifer was fuming, her face dark with anger.

Khloe couldn’t capture Vance’s heart. If Vance got back on his feet, she’d have another rival to deal with.

Tiana took a step back in disgust. “Don’t talk to me. You’re nauseating. Did you forget to brush your teeth this morning?”
