Chapter 198

“And also, as far as I knew, that swimming pool was 2.1 meters deep. If I got in the water, since I was afraid of water, I could easily have drowned. How could I possibly risk drowning just to pull Roschelle into the water?”

“Third, there were a lot of people in the swimming pool, so I wouldn’t have been so stupid or made such obvious moves where everyone could see me.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Patrick was clearly stunned for a moment, then slowly frowned. Just now, Roschelle got dragged into it. He was so mad and rushed that he didn’t really think about the details.

Alarieka said… That made a lot of sense.

The two cops looked at each other. The female cop immediately lowered her head and wrote down everything Alarieka said in her notebook.

After finishing, the policewoman looked up and said softly, “Just now, we already went to Roschelle’s place. What she told us wasn’t quite the same as what you said.”

Alarieka chuckled, “How could what she said be the same as mine?”

The policewoman pressed her lips together.

On Roschelle’s side, she didn’t flat-out say it was Alarieka who pushed her into the water, but she kept acting pitiful to get sympathy, and sometimes hid behind the two men. She had questioned so many suspects. If she couldn’t see through Roschelle’s little tricks, she might as well quit her job.

Although Roschelle’s comments didn’t directly say it was Alarieka who pulled her, her words just led people to the conclusion that it was Alarieka who pulled her. It was really kind of obvious. Even at the end, Roschelle just stopped answering and hid behind the two men, crying. Kieran and Patrick just kicked them out.

Most importantly, she had looked into the relationships between a few people, and she also knew that Kieran and Alarieka used to be kind of like siblings. It’s just that these two maybe didn’t do a good job as brother and sister. Kieran was really generous and booked a VIP room for Roschelle, but when it came to his sister Alarieka, he got stingy and only booked her a shared room. It wasn’t that giving Alarieka a shared hospital room was being stingy, it was just about Kieran’s finances. A shared hospital room really didn’t seem like something a rich guy like him would do. And the person was actually the little sister I’d lived with for a few years.

The policewoman kind of guessed the truth, but she didn’t dare to say anything reckless as a cop.

She and the male cop stood up and said gently to Alarieka, “We’re going to the hotel to check the surveillance now. We’ll be back in two hours.”

Alarieka nodded. “Okay, thank you.”

After the two cops left, Patrick seemed unable to hold back his anger anymore and strode forward.

“Alarieka, did you know what you were saying?”

Alarieka just gave him a cold look, then lay back on the hospital bed, curled up under the covers, and turned her back to Kieran and Patrick. Patrick gritted his teeth and said a lot, but Alarieka didn’t respond at all. Patrick was still rambling on.

“I told you, you’d better be thankful that Rose’s kid was totally fine, if anything happened to her or the kid even a little bit…”

Patrick’s lungs almost exploded from Alarieka’s attitude. He just stood there and stared at Alarieka for a while without saying anything.

Alarieka just recovered and didn’t have the energy to deal with those two men. Patrick didn’t say anything, and she was happy to have some peace.

Patrick lost, and Kieran came out. Through a layer of blanket, Alarieka heard Kieran’s deep, rich voice, with a hint of heaviness.

“Alarieka, you still didn’t learn to listen, still didn’t learn to behave.”

No matter what Patrick said, Alarieka wasn’t moved. Maybe because of everything that happened before, when Kieran spoke, Alarieka’s heart trembled for a moment.

Alarieka curled up under the blanket and squeezed her eyes shut.

Kieran said, “The only reason you could still stay in the hospital and not go to the police station was because you were in a coma. If there was nothing wrong with you, I would have already sent you to the police station.”

Alarieka’s closed eyes suddenly trembled. She suddenly opened her eyes, and sharp pain spread all over her heart. She kept backing off, but the result wasn’t what she wanted.

Alarieka lifted the blanket, her eyes facing the yellowed hospital nightstand, lips pressed together, voice calm.

“The police haven’t made a conclusion yet, but you two were in a hurry to decide I’m guilty.”
