Chapter 338
Christopher gave Leonel a stern look. "Don't you dare do anything stupid," he said. "Don't touch her; do only what the client requested."
Leonel pursed his lips in resentment. "I was just saying," he mumbled. "It's such a pity."
Unexpectedly, Jo agreed, "Yeah."
Christopher and Leonel looked at Jo in surprise.
Jo prepared the injection, placing the needle on a tray before standing. "I'll give her the shot," he said.
"Jo," Christopher stopped him. "Don't be too hard on her, or you might accidentally kill her. We'll have trouble answering to the client if that happens."
Jo nodded and walked toward Lily's room. He opened the door and looked at the woman lying on the bed. She possessed the petite figure of a typical Asian woman, but with full curves. Her slender arms, exposed by the covers, were as white as snow. She appeared to be asleep.
He walked to the bedside, switched on the lamp, and stared at Lily. He placed the tray on the bedside table and sat on the bed. He reached out and touched her leg lightly, slowly sliding his hand upward. He swallowed, his gaze following his hand. He stopped abruptly before reaching a sensitive area, his eyes widening in surprise as his hand froze mid-air, fingers twitching.
"Don't move."
He didn't realize a sharp knife had appeared at his waist until he felt the pain as it sliced through his clothes and into his flesh.
Lily, who was supposedly asleep, opened her eyes. The ropes binding her were gone.
"Who are you?" Lily asked coldly, sitting up.
Jo smirked but didn't answer. He suddenly turned, attempting to grab her slender neck. He ignored her threat.
Although he didn't know how Lily had awakened or freed herself, he was confident he could subdue her. Reality, however, proved him wrong.
Lily evaded his grasp, ducked, spun around with surprising speed, and positioned herself behind him. Before he reacted, she pressed the knife against his throat.
Jo's expression changed completely. Despite his glasses, the confident look on his face crumbled. He couldn't believe a petite woman had so easily overpowered him, a veteran in his field. He'd underestimated her, but his counterattack should have been foolproof.
"Answer me!" Lily said coldly. The knife pressed harder against his neck; if she increased her pressure, it would surely cut into his flesh.
"Who" Jo gulped. "Who are you?"
He finally understood why the client had insisted on heavy dosages and restraints. However, this realization came too late.
