Chapter 337
After locking them up, Christopher made a phone call.
"Yes, we have her. When will we receive payment?"
"Have you tied her up properly?" the person on the other end asked worriedly.
"Don't worry. We've always met our clients' needs," Christopher replied, pausing before adding, "Even if she weren't tied up, do you think she could escape?"
"Better safe than sorry."
While Christopher also believed Lily couldn't escape, the plan had to be flawless; mistakes were unacceptable. He didn't take the caller's caution to heart.
"When are you coming?"
"I can be there in two days. Give Lily water, but less food for the next few days. Don't overfeed her. Also, remember the injections," the caller instructed.
Christopher was silent for a moment before awkwardly laughing. "Shouldn't you do this yourself?"
"I have an urgent matter and can't leave. Just follow my instructions. I'll pay extra if you administer the injections on time," the man said in a deep voice. "All right then!"
Christopher happily hung up, having reached an agreement. He only cared about the money. Interpol had been closely watching him lately, and he desperately needed a large sum to disappear. This mission was simple and would be over quickly.
"Leo, give them water and check if they're awake," he told his driver.
Leonel grumbled, "Even a wild boar would still be unconscious after that much drugs, let alone two little girls."
"Do as I say! No excuses!"
Reprimanded, Leonel reluctantly grabbed two water bottles and went to check on the girls. He first entered Giselle's room and found her sleeping soundly; her posture hadn't changed.
"As expected. I knew they wouldn't wake up so soon!"
He went to Lily's room. Finding her safe and sound, and still aggrieved at the reprimand, he slammed the door.
"When's the client coming, boss? This mission is boring. Let's finish it and leave."
"Why the rush? Stay put for two days. He'll come; he has the person he wants, and he's already paid the deposit." Christopher bit into a piece of jerky. "Have you prepared what I asked for?"
Leonel and Jo exchanged glances. Leonel said, "We don't handle drugs, boss."
They murdered, robbed, kidnapped, and blackmailed, but they avoided drugs. They were criminals, but they feared addiction. The risk far outweighed the reward.
"Who said you had to handle it? Just put it in the needle and give it to the girl," Christopher said quietly, glancing at Lily's room.
"Tsk, tsk," Leonel clicked his tongue, a sudden wave of sentiment washing over him. "This client is cruel."
The client wanted Lily heavily sedated, tied up, and injected with drugs. He must have hated her intensely and wanted to destroy her; not just kill her, but break her spirit, leaving her to suffer a life worse than death. Even Lily's kidnappers had never been this brutal.
"Enough! Jo, you do it!" Christopher said, fearing Leonel's soft heart would get the better of him.
Leonel gave Jo a pained smile. "I advise you to go now, Jo. When she wakes up, you might not be able to handle her crying and begging. I saw her face earlier. She's gorgeous."
