Austin thought, It's no surprise the department didn't recruit Uncle Dom, considering his status and capabilities. He likely avoided telling me about it because it's a secret department.

"Yes, he's my granduncle. However, I'm not exactly his student, though he has taught me herbal medicine." Austin wanted to clarify this to avoid inadvertently damaging Dominic's reputation.

"I know," Dr. Blanc said with a smile. "Still, we know how capable you are."

Austin scratched his head awkwardly. In the past, such a compliment would have filled him with pride, but he'd become more humble, understanding the pitfalls of overconfidence. "You're too kind, Dr. Blanc, but I have much to learn. Perhaps I might learn something from your experts during the mission," he said earnestly.

Alexander noticed Austin's change and felt happy for him. "Well, I'll leave the secret lab to you two. That way, we can focus on what I must do now."

He then glanced at the man beside him. Austin, having noticed the man upon arrival, found him familiar.

He's the only one standing, looking like a bodyguard. Hmm... A bodyguard? Finally remembering, Austin asked, "I—Is that Edward?"

"Edward Sullivan," Alexander replied, "He's my assistant and a friend."

"Oh, yes, I remember seeing you," Austin said, nodding vaguely.

"We've met twice before," Edward said with a half-smile, leaning in to whisper something to Alexander.

Alexander nodded, then addressed the others. "It's settled then. Dr. Blanc, please explain your plan to Austin."

Dr. Blanc nodded. "I'm confident it will go smoothly with his assistance."

Rising, he paused, turning back to Alexander. "Regarding your plans, remember that your actions might affect the relationship between… you know what I mean. Remember, you won't be seen as an individual, but as a representative."

"I know," Alexander replied, nodding. "We'll proceed with the utmost caution."

"I've made the necessary arrangements, but remember not to be rash. Consider the potential consequences, whatever the outcome."
