Lily stopped, then nudged Alexander, realizing he wasn't going to speak. "That's it."

"Oh," Alexander replied.

"Oh?!" She raised her eyebrows, clearly dissatisfied.

"Just 'oh'?" Alexander laughed at her expression. "What else can I say? You have your plan, everything prepared, strong support, and reinforcements. Besides praising my capable wife, what else is there?"

Lily scrunched her nose. "Why do I hear sarcasm? I told you I didn't mean to hide it. We discussed this recently, and Dr. Blanc… you know."

Alexander was an exception when it came to secrets; Lily had nothing to hide from him.

"I understand," he nodded, sighing faintly.

Suspicious, she studied him. "Is there something you want to say? Why does your reaction seem so flat?" His calm demeanor suggested he was concealing something, though he was merely maintaining a facade. Dr. Blanc's and his superior's support eased his mind. If higher-ups were watching this organization, restrictions or arrests would be much easier. No matter how powerful the organization, its members still had families. The tides had turned.

A smile touched the corner of his lips as he tilted his head. After a moment, he said, "I also have something to tell you, but you can't get angry."

"Huh?" Lily was stunned. She hadn't expected him to use her own words against her. "Look, you have something to hide, and so do I…" He scratched his head, a smile playing on his lips. "Are we even?"

"Even?!" Lily straightened, turning to him expectantly, her eyes narrowing dangerously. "Tell me!"

Alexander was speechless. Why is my case different? Just now, I caved so quickly. Now it's my turn, and I'm drowning in guilt. He cleared his throat. "I know everything you just said."

"You know everything?!" Lily's eyes widened in surprise. She hadn't expected this; she'd been burdened with guilt for days over concealing it. "When did you find out?!" She was incredulous. This was extremely private and confidential; besides Dr. Blanc, she'd told no one. If I could keep her quiet, Dr. Blanc couldn't have… Wait a minute!
