Chapter 197
"I don't wish for you to have any business collaboration with the Yates family, and this will be how I want you to repay me for saving your life," Suzanne added.
Alan smirked in amusement. Seline's face fell. "How dare Suzanne do something like this?" Panic rose in her heart, but she put up a pitiful front as she looked at Suzanne. She said sadly, "You can't do this, Suzanne. Dad cares for you so much." Cared for her? The thought filled Seline with disgust. Henry forced her to marry Todd despite her reluctance and used despicable methods to ensure Todd had his way with her. Was that how he cared for her?
Selle turned to look at Alan, a hint of apology on her face. Standing tall, she said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Alvarez. My sister doesn't know any better. Please bear with her." She lowered her head slightly, thinking her poise would favorably contrast with Suzanne's commandeering, overbearing attitude.
A dark gleam flashed in Seline's eyes as she mocked Suzanne in her heart, "You've never known how to steal a man's heart, Suzanne. And you still don't."
Just as Seline was feeling very pleased with herself, Alan turned to Suzanne and replied with a half-smile, "How could I refuse your wish? Let it be exactly as you say."
Seline was shocked. She stared at Alan, dumbfounded, her hands balled into tight fists. How was that possible? Alan was clearly looking at her now. He had clearly expressed his interest in her.
Seline pretended to calm down before saying in a high-pitched voice, "Let's talk details regarding our business collaboration, Mr. Alvarez! I'll make sure this is a deal you'll be pleased with."
Suzanne smiled. Though she didn't say anything, the disdain in her eyes was evident. It shook Seline so hard that she almost couldn't take it anymore.
When she saw Alan and Seline, she panicked and followed behind them. Alan stopped in his tracks, turned around, looked at Seline, and said apathetically, "Please have some self-respect." What he said crushed Seline. Many people were looking at them with meaningful, pointed looks, causing Seline's face to burn furiously. She was clearly talking about a business collaboration, but the way Alan made it sound seemed like she was about to use her body in exchange for something else. Seline felt like her blood was boiling.
Sadly, Alan paid no attention to Seline at all. He turned back to Suzanne and said, "Let's go." Suzanne nodded, and both of them headed toward the private room. Seline's face contorted with rage as she glared at Suzanne's retreating figure.
Suddenly, Suzanne turned around to shoot a taunting glance at Seline before heading into the private room. Seline nearly exploded with rage. Her eyes were red with anger. One day, she would make sure that bitch died a painful death! She had no place to vent her anger, so she could only glare at the people around her and yell, "What are you looking at? Fuck off!" The people around her rolled their eyes at Seline and left in a huff.
Her phone rang all of a sudden. She took a deep breath, surveyed her surroundings, and walked out of the restaurant. She called her father and started to complain pitifully. "Dad, I was almost done with the discussion with Mr. Alvarez, but Suzanne demanded that Mr. Alvarez—"
He quickly interrupted, "How did she suddenly get involved in this?" Why did that stupid woman always appear at the worst moments? Emotions flashed in Seline's eyes. She could never allow Henry to know Sue's relationship with the Alvarez family. If he did, what would happen to her if she chose Suzanne to be the heiress to the Yates family?
