Chapter 680
Just when Sofia had finished off the last person and thought it was over, two more cars arrived at the alley entrance. This time, even more people were coming.
Sofia said, โDamn it. Are they trying to kill me today?โ
Luca glanced at her. โThen why arenโt you running?โ
Sofia didnโt say anything and started to run.
Luca asked, โStill have the energy to fight?โ
Sofia retorted, โDonโt underestimate me.โ But in truth, she was starting to feel drained. Last night, Richard had worn her out. She had been running for several blocks with Luca and had just fought tooth and nail with a dozen people. She was genuinely exhausted now.
Luca rolled her eyes at Sofia and, with agility, hopped onto the iron gate behind her.
Sofia thought, โThis girl is good.โ
When Richard arrived, he saw a group of people chasing Sofia. Richardโs eyes turned cold. He turned around, took a rifle from the trunk, and fired a round of shots at them.
Those people didnโt expect an ambush from behind. By the time Sofia and Luca climbed over the iron gate, all of them had been knocked to the ground.
The only one left alive saw Richard and backed away as if he had seen the Grim Reaper. Richard strode forward, each step as heavy as if he were stepping on the manโs heart.
โMr. Casalini.โ The man recognized Richard, his voice trembling.
Richard stepped on the manโs chest. โTell me who sent you?โ
โI, weโฆโ The man hesitated, unwilling to tell the truth.
The next moment, Richard pressed the gun against the manโs forehead. โMr. Casaliniโฆโ the man begged.
Richard narrowed his eyes. โLet me guess. You are Elenaโs people?โ
The man remained silent.
Richard raised an eyebrow. โDan?โ The man remained silent, but a flicker of panic flashed across his eyes when Richard mentioned this name.
Richard chuckled. This time, without waiting for the man to speak, he directly sent him to death. He turned and looked towards the depths of the alley.
Sofia was long gone. The image of her rushing figure flashed through his mind, which made Richard smile.
Dan didnโt wake up until late at night. Elena had been staying by his side the whole time. Seeing that he had finally awoken, Elena let out a sigh of relief. โDan, youโre finally awake. You really scared me.โ
Elenaโs voice was filled with worry.
Seeing Elena, a hint of disgust flickered in Danโs eyes, and his indifference was particularly obvious. โWhy are you here?โ he asked coldly.
Elenaโs heart trembled at his icy tone, and she choked out, โWhy? Would you rather have Sofia here? She wouldnโt come.โ
Dan didnโt say a word. His face, already pale, grew even colder when he heard Elenaโs words.
Elena lowered her eyes. โWere you with her last night?โ she asked, her voice filled with unspoken pain.
Before Dan could speak, she cried out hysterically, โWhy? Dan, Iโve been by your side for so many years. Canโt you fall for me a little?โ
Danโs eyes turned colder when he heard Elenaโs words.
Elena said, โSheโs already in your past.โ
Elena had lost track of how many years she had loved Dan. This love had lasted so long that she had forgotten time itself. She thought, โIf it were anyone else, they would have been moved after so many years. Is this manโs heart truly made of stone?โ
โYou remember everything now, donโt you?โ Elena asked, sensing that Danโs memory had already returned. Elenaโs voice was filled with unprecedented despair when she asked the question.
Dan glared at her coldly. โYouโre the one who tampered with my memory.โ
Elena was speechless. Silence fell over them. She looked at Dan, her breathing ragged.
A dangerous look flickered in Danโs eyes. โElena, you deserve to die.โ
Elena was shocked, and Danโs words kept ringing in her head. โWhat did you say?โ Elena asked and thought, โDo I really deserve to die? Have I really done something wrong? No. I do not.โ
Tears welled up in her eyes. โYou said I deserved to die, Dan. Iโm your fiancรฉe. Iโve been with you for so many years. Weโre getting married. Iโm the one whoโll spend the rest of my life with you. You betrayed me and youโre cursing me.โ
They were supposed to get married. Now that Sofia suddenly reappeared, their wedding had been postponed indefinitely.
Hearing Dan say that she deserved to die, Elena felt a suffocating pain in her heart, as if so many years of their relationship had become a joke.
โYou hate me because of her? Do you know that you would have died if you hadnโt left?โ Elena gritted her teeth as she spat out the last three words, โI saved you.โ
Sofia was a homewrecker for Elena. โThe Giovanni family is a quagmire; you wonโt benefit from getting involved. Donโt you know that?โ Elena questioned sharply.
Dan shot her a cold look.
Elena, always afraid of Dan, felt even more suffocated. โSofia doesnโt love you at all. Look how she treated you after what you did to her last night.โ
Elena assumed that the man last night was Dan, which made her hate Sofia even more. She had planned so meticulously and didnโt understand why Sofia ended up in Danโs arms.
Thinking about Sofiaโs reaction last night, Elena said, โShe wanted to kill you. She doesnโt love you at all.โ Elena wondered, โHow could Sofia do such a thing if she loves Dan?โ
Elena spoke hysterically, and her words made Danโs face darken. Finally, he shouted coldly towards the door, โSamuel.โ
Samuel had been guarding the door. After seeing Dan faint so many times today, he didnโt dare to leave for a second.
Hearing Danโs voice, Samuel immediately entered and said, โSir?โ
Dan said, โTake her away.โ
Hearing this, Samuel glanced at Elena.
โDan.โ Seeing that Dan wanted her gone, Elena felt even worse.
Elena knew that it was because she had said things that Dan didnโt want to hear. He always got her away every time she said something he didnโt like. Elena thought, โBut Iโm his fiancรฉe. How can he treat me like this again and again?โ
Seemingly used to this situation, Samuel looked at Elena and said, โMs. Rossi, please.โ
Elena took a deep breath, tears streaming down her face. โIt doesnโt matter what you feel for her now. Sheโs already Mrs. Casalini. The two of you can never be together.โ
Each word Elena spat out in anger grated on Danโs nerves. He looked at her, his gaze becoming increasingly dangerous.
It was evening at the Giovanni residence. Stephanie had a good appetite and had three bowls of oatmeal. Sebastian took her for an hour-long walk, and only then did she feel comfortable enough to sleep.
In the middle of the night, Allisonโs call came. โStefi, thereโs something I need to tell you.โ
Stephanie, disturbed in her sleep, was about to curse when she heard Allisonโs voice and quickly swallowed her words back.
โWhatโs up, Allison?โ Stephanie was sleepy.
Hearing her voice, Allison apologized, โOh, Iโm sorry. I forgot about the time difference.โ
Stephanie replied, โItโs okay. Tell me whatโs going on?โ
Allison said, โOlivia is dead.โ
Stephanie said nothing.
