Chapter 621
Stephanie's indifferent demeanor shattered all of Tyler's restraint. "Stephanie, that's your mom. Her place has now been taken by another woman, and you're just going to let it happen?"
"It was Olivia who let another woman take her place," Stephanie said casually.
"I know it was Olivia, so I kicked her out of our family. You know she's too weak to make it on her own. Isn't that enough to calm your anger?" Tyler spoke more urgently, as if kicking Olivia out was a form of revenge for Stephanie.
Stephanie replied, "Does it matter if I'm angry? That's not your concern."
"Youโ"
Stephanie cut him off, "Enjoy your chaotic life ahead. Oh, by the way, I heard Amber took the kid to Fiorenza and found a man named Tommy."
โShe found another man?โ Tyler thought, his face darkening.
Stephanie added, "With your son and your money."
Her words hit like a punch, and Tyler's breathing turned ragged. Before he could respond, Stephanie cut the call.
Sebastian arrived just in time to hear Stephanie say, "With your son and your money." He wrapped his arms around her from behind and softly asked, "Was it a call from the Hart family?"
Stephanie replied, "Yeah, they said Olivia was kicked out of the Hart family, and it seems like Catlin might have been sentenced too." Seeing how worried Tyler was, it looked like it wasn't a light sentence.
"That mouth of yours is as sharp as a knife," Sebastian said with a faint smile.
"That's not nearly enough," Stephanie smirked. Those people loved to provoke others with words, so she was just giving them a taste of their own medicine. This was nothing compared to the insults they'd hurled at her before. "Why are you here?" she asked.
"Let's go try on the dress," Sebastian said, wrapping an arm around her waist as they headed out.
Stephanie inquired, "Whose party is this, anyway?" It was unusual for Sebastian to personally prepare dresses.
Sebastian replied, "It's for Mr. Josef Murphy."
"Huh? Didn't we barely have any contact before?" Stephanie asked, confused. The Murphy family, being somewhat inconspicuous, hadn't interacted with the Giovanni family for years.
Sebastian stopped and looked at her. As their eyes met, he gently pinched her nose. "That's the past," he said.
Stephanie was utterly confused, struggling to understand why Sebastian was so concerned. It seemed a lot had happened at home while she'd been away.
As she went downstairs, she overheard Richard and Sofia arguing again. Sofia shouted, "I'll go fight the Casalini family, but you need to pay up."
Sebastian and Stephanie both felt speechless. Before getting the marriage license, Richard and Sofia had argued about it, and now that they had it, they were arguing over money. They certainly had a wide range of arguments, and each changed incredibly fast.
When Richard heard the word โmoney,โ his face almost twisted in frustration. "What money? Are you short on cash?"
"That's not the issue; just pay up," Sofia replied angrily.
"I have no money. I'm broke," Richard shot back.
"Then I won't go to the Casalini family. Don't even think about it," Sofia snapped.
The Casalini family was a total disaster right now; anyone who got near them would end up fuming. Sofia didn't want to get worked upโit wasn't good for her health.
As she was so stubborn, Richard's face turned red with rage. "Money, moneyโgo ask Stefano for it. No matter how much you get from the Casalini family, I won't take a cent of it, okay?"
โHe wonโt take any?โ Sofia's eyes lit up. "Really?"
"Yeah."
"Alright then, I'm going."
Stephanie watched in disbelief. โSofia is going just like that? The Casalini family is really going to face tough times ahead.โ
Richard laughed at Sofia's sudden change in attitude. "You're the lady of the Giovanni and Lucano families. Are they out of money? Why are you so obsessed with cash?"
Sofia explained, "Oh, you don't understand. There's been a war up north for years, and those orphans and poor people need a lot of charity." She had already spent a lot on it.
Richard was taken aback for a moment, his expression turning strange. "Wow, someone like you actually has such a generous heart."
"Hey, what do you mean by that? What's wrong with me?" Sofia shot back, upset by his tone.
And then, the two started arguing again.
Sebastian rubbed his forehead, feeling a headache coming on. He sighed and led Stephanie to the nearby sitting room.
Seeing this, Elliot quickly arranged for the dress to be brought over there.
