Chapter 556

Richard and Sebastian’s conversation ended on a sour note. After leaving the study, they went straight to find Stephanie, who was still in the medical room.

Sofia talked about marrying Richard, and Lottie immediately became angry. She pulled Sofia aside. “What’s wrong with you? Is this something to use as a vent for your anger?”

Even though Richard’s feelings for Stephanie were troubling, Lottie would never agree with Sofia’s extreme approach to resolving the situation. Lottie thought, ‘Sofia’ll only be harming herself by doing so. For years, Sebastian has been extremely wary of Richard. Richard holds a grudge against the Giovanni family. With Sofia stirring up all this drama, won’t she and Richard end up hating each other, constantly at odds? I don’t want to see Sofia go through such hardship!’

Sofia said, “I’m going to get back at that jerk Richard like this.”

“Are you out of your mind?” Lottie burst out. She thought, ‘Is this about revenge or making things worse for herself?’

Sofia just snorted and didn’t reply. Seeing her silence, Lottie’s mouth twitched slightly. “Are you serious?”

Sofia nodded. “Yes.”

As soon as Sofia nodded, Lottie slapped her on the back of the head. “You silly girl, are you asking for trouble?” Lottie thought, ‘How can she be so clueless?’

Lottie thought she had done a great job raising Sofia and Stephanie over the years. She thought, ‘But why did everything fall apart at critical moments? One ran away, and the other thought of using marriage to get back at a guy. I’m so upset.’

Sofia said, “Isn’t it for Stefi’s sake? With Richard acting like that, how can she be at ease during her pregnancy if I don’t handle this?”

Stephanie said, “I can.” She nodded firmly, suggesting she could remain calm during her pregnancy if Sofia didn’t provoke things. But if Sofia did, Stephanie, constantly hearing about her fights with Richard, definitely couldn’t stay calm.

Sofia said, “Stefi…”

“You be quiet.” Lottie’s face turned pale with frustration. She had just been happy for a moment, and now Sofia was causing trouble. Raising kids was such a hassle.

Sofia pouted, but before she could say anything else, Lottie’s phone rang.

Holding back her anger, Lottie answered the call. Someone spoke on the other end. Lottie coldly replied with two words, “Do it.”

At this moment, Lottie’s tone was like Sebastian’s, filled with a deadly aura and intense stare. Just a moment before, she looked like a worried mother, but now she stood like a lioness, showing fierce coldness immediately.

After hanging up the phone, Lottie turned to Stephanie and Sofia. “I need to step out for a bit. Sofia, take Stefi back to her room.”

“Oh, okay.” Facing her suddenly stern mom, Sofia nervously swallowed and quickly turned into a well-behaved daughter, nodding her head.

Lottie had just left when Richard arrived, giving Stephanie a dangerous look, moving his lips as if he were about to say something.

Sofia pulled Stephanie behind her and grumbled, “What? Want to start a fight?”

Richard’s eyes were cold. “If you don’t want Dan to get hurt, that document better be back in my hands within three days.”

Sofia was shocked and thought, ‘Three days?’ Richard’s tone was full of danger, and Sofia understood that if they couldn’t get the document back in time, the consequences would be serious.

“Why are you telling me this?” Sofia asked. She thought, ‘Dan is about to marry another woman. His situation has nothing to do with me.’ Thinking of the time spent in Sandara, a sharp pain went through Sofia’s heart.

Richard said, “I’m just letting you know.” He thought, “That’s it, just a heads-up. Sofia would have to figure it out for herself if she wanted to know anything more. If Sofia knows, then she’ll inform Dan.”
