Lorenzo’s eyes? They are as sharp as Sebastian’s, right? He’s seen all sorts of things in his time. Couldn’t he tell if Ella was really an undercover agent? Wait, something doesn’t add up here, Stephanie thought.

Hearing that, Ella frowned. “Messing with me?”

“Definitely,” Stephanie said.

“Why would he do that to me?” Ella asked.

Stephanie shrugged. “You’re easy to mess with. He’s probably just playing games with you.”

Sebastian had mentioned that Lorenzo liked Ella. After everything that happened, Stephanie thought it was pretty clear that Lorenzo was just messing with Ella.

Ella didn’t like that. Sure, she wasn’t bad-looking, but she knew her limits. She wasn’t some supermodel, and Lorenzo wasn’t the type to play games with her.

Just as Ella was about to say something, she suddenly heard Sofia’s voice in the background. “Stefi, I’m going to make Richard pay for what he did.”

“Okay, I can’t talk right now. I’ll call you tomorrow. If you need anything, call me, and I’ll come get you,” Stephanie said and then hung up.

As the call ended, Ella’s mind was still racing. ‘Messing with me? Someone as proud as Lorenzo? He barely even looks at me, let alone play games. What a joke!’ she thought.

Stephanie had just finished her checkup in the medical room when Sofia suddenly remembered something and rushed off to find Sebastian and Richard. Lottie stayed behind with her for the checkup. The results came back positive—two lines. They quickly did an emergency ultrasound. After a quick bathroom break, the results were already in.

Stephanie was pregnant, and Lottie was absolutely over the moon. “Oh, Stefi, you’re gonna have a little baby.”

She was still smiling when Sofia suddenly burst in.

As Sofia was about to get close to Stephanie, Lottie quickly pulled her behind her. “You and Richard, seriously, when will it ever end? Don’t scare Stefi.”

Sofia thought, ‘Huh? Scare her?’

“Wait, I just…” she started to say.

Lottie cut her off. “What do you mean? I’m telling you. Next time you get near Stefi, keep it down. You don’t wanna scare her baby, too.”

A bit confused, Sofia asked, “Her baby?”

“Yeah, look right here,” Lottie said, pointing to a spot on the ultrasound image and showing Sofia where the baby was.

Sofia blinked, not seeing anything that looked like a baby. “This dark area… is that a baby?”

‘What? Am I supposed to believe that? Babies look like that?’ she thought.

Chapter 555

“Yep, that’s the baby. It starts off looking like this,” Lottie said.

“Really? It doesn’t look like a baby to me,” Sofia replied.

“Oh, come on. This is what babies look like at first. That’s how they look in the womb,” Lottie said. She realized there was no point in trying to explain further. Whether Sofia could see it or not, that was how a baby started.

Seeing her mom get all worked up, Sofia rolled her eyes. “Fine, whatever you say.”

Lottie didn’t bother responding. She just kept staring at the test results, practically glowing with happiness.

Then, out of nowhere, Sofia dropped a bombshell. “By the way, I’m getting married to Richard.”

Stephanie and Lottie froze, their faces full of shock. The sudden silence in the air was almost suffocating. Lottie was stunned, staring at Sofia.

Stephanie’s face went completely blank, and she was shocked. “Wait. You and Richard are getting married? When?”

“Tomorrow. Unless something goes wrong, we’ll get married tomorrow, and divorced the day after,” Sofia said, sounding casual.

Stephanie and Lottie both thought, ‘What is she talking about? She’s already planning the divorce before the wedding? Why even bother getting married then?’

Sofia continued, “Richard is a jerk. Even though Stefi’s pregnant, he still won’t leave her alone. So, I’m going to tie him down with marriage. That way, he won’t have time to mess with Stefi.”

“And if he’s still not behaving after we’re married, I won’t divorce him. I’ll keep him stuck to me for life. He’ll be mine forever,” Sofia added.

She tried to explain her intention, but Lottie and Stephanie already got what she meant.

Stephanie felt completely speechless. “Uh, actually, you don’t have to do that.”

‘What does she mean by stopping Richard from messing with me? She’s going to trap him for life with marriage? But then she’ll be stuck with him, too,’ she thought.
