Chapter 742 Biggest Wish
Hayley POV
โWell, you could say that.โ I didnโt deny it, but also didnโt fully admit that I was H. Once I told her that, Iโd have to reveal that I wasnโt an Omega as well.
โMs. Carson.โ Scarlett suddenly changed her tone, adopting a warmer edge.
The sudden shift in attitude caught me off guard, making me choke on my water. โThat was quick. I didnโt see it coming.โ
โMs. Carson.โ Scarlett smiled as she got closer to me, her hands fidgeting nervously. Then, she added, โTake me to see H, please.โ
I rolled my eyes speechlessly and shrunk back a little as I looked at her.
โMy biggest wish in life is to see her in person, just once, for real. If I could meet her, I donโt mind being demoted to an Omega like you.โ
I never imagined dealing with a fan so devoted theyโd risk their life. Thus, I could only find a way to stall for time. โMeeting her? Sure. But we need to have some agreements. Iโll take you to see H when you can meet both my and Godfatherโs standards.โ
โItโs a deal!โ Scarlett shouted excitedly. As if afraid I might go back on my word, she quickly grabbed my hand and linked our pinky fingers before finally smiling in satisfaction.
I shook my head helplessly as I looked at her earnest face. Having to restrain your true self and facing unknown future circumstances just for someone youโve never metโwas it really worth it? Most importantly, Iโm not even sure if I had such charms.
The next day, I found a book on computer programming and gave it to Scarlett for her to practice. I asked her to learn at least half before she came back; otherwise, sheโs not allowed to talk.
Today, I was heading to the Rock Betting Auction. This event was specifically highlighted on Freyaโs itinerary, so I couldnโt miss it. When we reached the entrance and gathered, only then did we realize Benjamin was missing.
โWhereโs he?โ I asked Henry.
He waved his hand, indicating he had no idea as well.
โHe had something to take care of. Iโll stick with Ms. Carson, so there wonโt be any problems,โ Zayd said.
Henry slung an arm over Zaydโs shoulder and teased him, โPerhaps you misunderstood my brother. She has those well-built Beta enforcers sent by her godfather to her. Do you think she needs your protection?โ
Zayd frowned.
โYouโll get the hang of it eventually.โ Henry patted him twice before nudging him into the car.
I smiled as I watched them.
The Rock Betting Auction was a signature event of the Winterbite Pack, and it had attracted many visitors. It was an annual event that used to be held on the outskirts, but for some reason, the organizers decided to hold this gambling event right in the city center of Winterbite Pack.
The rock betting itself didnโt mean wagering on a rock itself, but rather on the different gems hidden within it. It all depends on oneโs luckโwhether theyโd strike it rich or lose everything in an instant. It was kind of similar to buying a lottery.
Just like there were over a billion people buying lottery tickets hoping to win it, rock betting, too, had grown wildly popular. In recent years, there had been countless stories of werewolves becoming wealthy instantly from winning the rock betting. With such wealth, even a low-ranking werewolf could afford to hire a high-ranking werewolf as a bodyguard.
Itโs exactly for this reason that more and more people were willing to put everything on the line at this rock betting event.
As we got off the car, we bumped right into Freya.
