Chapter 739 Ninety Million Winner
Freyaโs POV:
The moment her voice landed, murmurs filled the auction room.
โWhere did this kid come from? An Omega, and she dares to challenge the Sanders?โ
โSixty million? Thatโs a ten-million jump for no reason. How long would it take to make that back?โ
โTsk, tskโฆ Looks like things are taking a turn. I thought with Ms. Freya showing up in person, the Sanders had this locked down.โ
I was at a loss for wordsโฆ
Hearing the crowdโs chatter, I clenched my teeth and gripped the hem of my dress tightly.
I knew Hayley would pull something, but I didnโt expect her to raise the bid by a full ten millionโcompletely wrecking our budget.
That scheming bitch! She was doing this just to humiliate me in public!
If it werenโt for the fact that Alpha Benjamin was at her side, I wouldโve given control to my wolf and ripped her apart right here.
โMs. Freya, what do we do? If we lose this land, the board and the elders will never let it slide!โ Nathan said anxiously.
โShut up! You think I donโt know that?โ I snapped.
Hayley was clearly giving me no way out.
Hayleyโs POV:
I watched with calm amusement as Freyaโs expression changed again and again.
Never mind her budgetโif I wanted to, I could dig up the entire Sandersโ financial system from the inside out.
If she canโt even handle this much pressure, sheโs still far too weak.
โBoring.โ I sighed and stood up, ready to leave.
I had just straightened my back when Freya suddenly shouted, โSeventy million!โ
Oh?
So she did want to butt heads with me.
I smirked, crossing my arms as I watched her with interest.
Too bad she didnโt realize that everything she ownedโall her assets combinedโwould barely amount to my spare change.
How could she possibly compete?
I raised my paddle to up the bid again, but before I could speak, a manโs voice rose from the front row.
Ninety million.
โNow this is interesting,โ I chuckled, then leaned toward Benjamin and whispered, โDidnโt expect someone else here to enjoy making Freya suffer as much as I do.โ
Benjamin gave a meaningful smile. โYeah. You two are so in sync. Iโm starting to get jealous.โ
I pouted slightly. โYouโre jealous over that?โ
I turned my head back toward Freya to see how she would react.
It was obviousโshe couldnโt handle the sudden leap in price. All the arrogance had drained from her face.
In the end, the auctioneer brought down the gavel. โCongratulations to the gentleman who secured todayโs land for 90 million.โ
As the winning bid was announced, I saw Freyaโs assistant, Nathan, break into a panic. He rushed out, already on the phone trying to salvage the situation.
Freya, however, forced herself to stay composed, watching calmly as I approached her.
โOh no,โ I said with a mocking smile, โlooks like the land youโve been dreaming of just slipped through your fingers. And now, even without Peter, you probably wonโt be able to secure your position.โ
โHmph. Thatโs none of your concern, Hayley,โ Freya snapped coldly. โYou didnโt get it either, did you?โ
โTrue! I lost a golden opportunity to worm my way into the Sander Group,โ I said with faux disappointment. Then my face shifted back to its usual indifference. โBut have you forgotten? I never planned on returning to the Sander Group in the first place.โ
Freyaโs face froze, at a loss for words.
โSo, losing something I never wanted in the first place? Whatโs there to regret?โ I said softly. โBut making you thoroughly miserableโthatโs a win Iโll gladly celebrate.โ
โOf course weโre celebrating,โ Henry chimed in, grinning. โThis calls for a drinkโto celebrate!
โA toast to someoneโs impending doom, starting from today!โ
โSay that again and Iโll rip your mouth apart!โ Freya growled, her wolf flashing through her sharp, threatening eyes.
โGo ahead. Try me. Iโve been itching for a good fight.โ Henry sneered. As a high-ranking Beta, he bared his sharp canines without backing down.
Just then, a sharply dressed man in an expensive suit walked toward us, holding a file.
