Chapter 739 Ninety Million Winner

Freyaโ€™s POV:

The moment her voice landed, murmurs filled the auction room.

โ€œWhere did this kid come from? An Omega, and she dares to challenge the Sanders?โ€

โ€œSixty million? Thatโ€™s a ten-million jump for no reason. How long would it take to make that back?โ€

โ€œTsk, tskโ€ฆ Looks like things are taking a turn. I thought with Ms. Freya showing up in person, the Sanders had this locked down.โ€

I was at a loss for wordsโ€ฆ

Hearing the crowdโ€™s chatter, I clenched my teeth and gripped the hem of my dress tightly.

I knew Hayley would pull something, but I didnโ€™t expect her to raise the bid by a full ten millionโ€”completely wrecking our budget.

That scheming bitch! She was doing this just to humiliate me in public!

If it werenโ€™t for the fact that Alpha Benjamin was at her side, I wouldโ€™ve given control to my wolf and ripped her apart right here.

โ€œMs. Freya, what do we do? If we lose this land, the board and the elders will never let it slide!โ€ Nathan said anxiously.

โ€œShut up! You think I donโ€™t know that?โ€ I snapped.

Hayley was clearly giving me no way out.

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I watched with calm amusement as Freyaโ€™s expression changed again and again.

Never mind her budgetโ€”if I wanted to, I could dig up the entire Sandersโ€™ financial system from the inside out.

If she canโ€™t even handle this much pressure, sheโ€™s still far too weak.

โ€œBoring.โ€ I sighed and stood up, ready to leave.

I had just straightened my back when Freya suddenly shouted, โ€œSeventy million!โ€

Oh?

So she did want to butt heads with me.

I smirked, crossing my arms as I watched her with interest.

Too bad she didnโ€™t realize that everything she ownedโ€”all her assets combinedโ€”would barely amount to my spare change.

How could she possibly compete?

I raised my paddle to up the bid again, but before I could speak, a manโ€™s voice rose from the front row.

Ninety million.

โ€œNow this is interesting,โ€ I chuckled, then leaned toward Benjamin and whispered, โ€œDidnโ€™t expect someone else here to enjoy making Freya suffer as much as I do.โ€

Benjamin gave a meaningful smile. โ€œYeah. You two are so in sync. Iโ€™m starting to get jealous.โ€

I pouted slightly. โ€œYouโ€™re jealous over that?โ€

I turned my head back toward Freya to see how she would react.

It was obviousโ€”she couldnโ€™t handle the sudden leap in price. All the arrogance had drained from her face.

In the end, the auctioneer brought down the gavel. โ€œCongratulations to the gentleman who secured todayโ€™s land for 90 million.โ€

As the winning bid was announced, I saw Freyaโ€™s assistant, Nathan, break into a panic. He rushed out, already on the phone trying to salvage the situation.

Freya, however, forced herself to stay composed, watching calmly as I approached her.

โ€œOh no,โ€ I said with a mocking smile, โ€œlooks like the land youโ€™ve been dreaming of just slipped through your fingers. And now, even without Peter, you probably wonโ€™t be able to secure your position.โ€

โ€œHmph. Thatโ€™s none of your concern, Hayley,โ€ Freya snapped coldly. โ€œYou didnโ€™t get it either, did you?โ€

โ€œTrue! I lost a golden opportunity to worm my way into the Sander Group,โ€ I said with faux disappointment. Then my face shifted back to its usual indifference. โ€œBut have you forgotten? I never planned on returning to the Sander Group in the first place.โ€

Freyaโ€™s face froze, at a loss for words.

โ€œSo, losing something I never wanted in the first place? Whatโ€™s there to regret?โ€ I said softly. โ€œBut making you thoroughly miserableโ€”thatโ€™s a win Iโ€™ll gladly celebrate.โ€

โ€œOf course weโ€™re celebrating,โ€ Henry chimed in, grinning. โ€œThis calls for a drinkโ€”to celebrate!

โ€œA toast to someoneโ€™s impending doom, starting from today!โ€

โ€œSay that again and Iโ€™ll rip your mouth apart!โ€ Freya growled, her wolf flashing through her sharp, threatening eyes.

โ€œGo ahead. Try me. Iโ€™ve been itching for a good fight.โ€ Henry sneered. As a high-ranking Beta, he bared his sharp canines without backing down.

Just then, a sharply dressed man in an expensive suit walked toward us, holding a file.
