Teresa remained unconvinced. She had her own life and didn't consider herself so frail as to be confined to the house all day.

“I’m not suggesting you stay home constantly,” Jonathan said. “I’m not trying to restrict your freedom; I simply want to take better care of you.”

“It’s just that there isn’t enough room for a maternity nanny here, and everything is inconvenient. If you’d prefer, we can arrange for you to stay at a maternity center.”

“No, thank you. I don’t need a maternity center. I’m fine staying here,” Teresa replied.

Jonathan sighed. “Where did you inherit this stubbornness? You’re driving me crazy.” He was only trying to make things easier for her, hoping she’d be more comfortable.

Teresa said, “It’s not about stubbornness. If I move into your house, have you considered your mother’s reaction? Or what others might say?”

“Worried the rumors will jeopardize your chances at a new romance?” Jonathan raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with jealousy.

“I’m just afraid I’ll interfere with your moving on,” Teresa retorted. “Aren’t you supposed to be marrying Ms. Kelly?”

“I already have two children. Why would I even consider marrying her? Besides, I have zero interest in her,” Jonathan said.

“She’s from a prominent family, and she even visited your grandfather. Isn’t your mother quite fond of her?” Teresa pressed.

Jonathan felt a fresh wave of frustration. His brows furrowed. Why does it always come back to my mother? I’m not a mama’s boy, he thought.

“Let’s not get sidetracked. We’re discussing your living arrangements. If you wish to remain at Rosary Estates for now, then I’ll move in with you,” Jonathan said.

Teresa was speechless.

“So, either you move in with me, or I move in here, or we both return to Luviston Estates,” Jonathan continued.

“Hold on,” Teresa said, completely baffled. “Luviston Estates was our marital home. We’re divorced, and now you want us to move back there? That’s not a viable option. You’re not giving me any real choices.”

“Fine, I’ll move in here. I’ll arrange for maternity nannies to handle the cooking and cleaning, but they won’t be staying overnight,” Jonathan said, stepping back. “That’s settled, for now.” He glanced at the clock. “I’ll head back now and move in tomorrow.”

Teresa frowned. “Can you not be so bossy? I haven’t even agreed to any of this yet.”

“Then what do you want? You don’t want to reconcile, you don’t want to move in with me, and you don’t want me moving in here either.”

“Either way, I need to keep an eye on you and the baby. What if you faint again and no one is around? I can’t let that happen,” Jonathan insisted.

Teresa bit her lip, thinking, Maybe he only cares about the baby now. If I weren’t pregnant, there’s no way things would have improved between us. She took a deep breath. “I can take care of myself. Just visit when you have time. That’s enough.”

“No way,” Jonathan said firmly. “If you won’t let me move in, then when Miriam returns, I’ll settle things with her.”

Teresa gritted her teeth. “That’s your go-to threat.”

“It’s not a threat; I’m letting it slide. Let’s move forward. You kept Mike from me, and I’m willing to let that go,” Jonathan replied.

Teresa fell silent again.

Jonathan’s expression made it clear: if Teresa didn’t comply, he would deal with the people around her.

Chapter 721

Teresa finally spoke. “I have one condition. Don’t tell Mike I’m pregnant yet. He just reconciled with you and is really happy about it. I don’t want him to walk on eggshells around me because of the pregnancy. I’ll tell him myself once it’s obvious.”
