Chapter 721

Teresa remained unconvinced. She had her own life and didn't consider herself so frail as to be confined to the house all day.

โ€œIโ€™m not suggesting you stay home constantly,โ€ Jonathan said. โ€œIโ€™m not trying to restrict your freedom; I simply want to take better care of you.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s just that there isnโ€™t enough room for a maternity nanny here, and everything is inconvenient. If youโ€™d prefer, we can arrange for you to stay at a maternity center.โ€

โ€œNo, thank you. I donโ€™t need a maternity center. Iโ€™m fine staying here,โ€ Teresa replied.

Jonathan sighed. โ€œWhere did you inherit this stubbornness? Youโ€™re driving me crazy.โ€ He was only trying to make things easier for her, hoping sheโ€™d be more comfortable.

Teresa said, โ€œItโ€™s not about stubbornness. If I move into your house, have you considered your motherโ€™s reaction? Or what others might say?โ€

โ€œWorried the rumors will jeopardize your chances at a new romance?โ€ Jonathan raised an eyebrow, his tone laced with jealousy.

โ€œIโ€™m just afraid Iโ€™ll interfere with your moving on,โ€ Teresa retorted. โ€œArenโ€™t you supposed to be marrying Ms. Kelly?โ€

โ€œI already have two children. Why would I even consider marrying her? Besides, I have zero interest in her,โ€ Jonathan said.

โ€œSheโ€™s from a prominent family, and she even visited your grandfather. Isnโ€™t your mother quite fond of her?โ€ Teresa pressed.

Jonathan felt a fresh wave of frustration. His brows furrowed. Why does it always come back to my mother? Iโ€™m not a mamaโ€™s boy, he thought.

โ€œLetโ€™s not get sidetracked. Weโ€™re discussing your living arrangements. If you wish to remain at Rosary Estates for now, then Iโ€™ll move in with you,โ€ Jonathan said.

Teresa was speechless.

โ€œSo, either you move in with me, or I move in here, or we both return to Luviston Estates,โ€ Jonathan continued.

โ€œHold on,โ€ Teresa said, completely baffled. โ€œLuviston Estates was our marital home. Weโ€™re divorced, and now you want us to move back there? Thatโ€™s not a viable option. Youโ€™re not giving me any real choices.โ€

โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll move in here. Iโ€™ll arrange for maternity nannies to handle the cooking and cleaning, but they wonโ€™t be staying overnight,โ€ Jonathan said, stepping back. โ€œThatโ€™s settled, for now.โ€ He glanced at the clock. โ€œIโ€™ll head back now and move in tomorrow.โ€

Teresa frowned. โ€œCan you not be so bossy? I havenโ€™t even agreed to any of this yet.โ€

โ€œThen what do you want? You donโ€™t want to reconcile, you donโ€™t want to move in with me, and you donโ€™t want me moving in here either.โ€

โ€œEither way, I need to keep an eye on you and the baby. What if you faint again and no one is around? I canโ€™t let that happen,โ€ Jonathan insisted.

Teresa bit her lip, thinking, Maybe he only cares about the baby now. If I werenโ€™t pregnant, thereโ€™s no way things would have improved between us. She took a deep breath. โ€œI can take care of myself. Just visit when you have time. Thatโ€™s enough.โ€

โ€œNo way,โ€ Jonathan said firmly. โ€œIf you wonโ€™t let me move in, then when Miriam returns, Iโ€™ll settle things with her.โ€

Teresa gritted her teeth. โ€œThatโ€™s your go-to threat.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not a threat; Iโ€™m letting it slide. Letโ€™s move forward. You kept Mike from me, and Iโ€™m willing to let that go,โ€ Jonathan replied.

Teresa fell silent again.

Jonathanโ€™s expression made it clear: if Teresa didnโ€™t comply, he would deal with the people around her.

Chapter 721

Teresa finally spoke. โ€œI have one condition. Donโ€™t tell Mike Iโ€™m pregnant yet. He just reconciled with you and is really happy about it. I donโ€™t want him to walk on eggshells around me because of the pregnancy. Iโ€™ll tell him myself once itโ€™s obvious.โ€
