Chapter 714
โJonathan,โ Werner interjected. โThe whole family knows youโre going to be a dad. This is great news! This is the Lynn familyโs first grandson!โ
โI heard Donald and Cheryl faked the report to keep you from finding out,โ Werner continued. โDonโt worry, Iโll give them a piece of my mind. Iโll stand up for you.โ
Jonathan rubbed his temples. โIโm out of town right now. I canโt make it back.โ
Hayden snorted. โYouโre always so busy, running around every day. I swear, you canโt even tell whatโs important anymore. But I donโt care. I want to see my adorable great-grandson right this instant.โ
โGrandpa, itโs really not possible today,โ Jonathan said. โIโll bring Mike back when I get a chance, but thereโs no way Iโm letting him go alone. Heโs just a kid. Without me and Teresa, heโll be scared. Please donโt frighten him.โ
Hayden was quiet for a few seconds, then chuckled. โI knew it. Teresaโs the one who had your kid, right? Your mom tried to hide it from me, saying she didnโt know who the mother was. Come on, who else would put up with you enough to have your child except Teresa?โ
Jonathan looked at Teresa, still unconscious in bed. He thought, โYeah, who else but her?โ
โTomorrow, you bring Teresa and Mike home together,โ Hayden demanded. โTeresa gave our family its first grandson, and youโre still not remarried to her? What, you want them out there suffering alone?โ
โHow could I ever let them suffer?โ Jonathan pinched the bridge of his nose. Knowing what he needed to do, he hung up.
He then called Gary, briefly informing him that the family already knew about Michael.
โHow did they find out so fast? Was it you, bro?โ Gary asked, surprised, believing Jonathan would wait a few days.
โWasnโt me. Anyway, the whole family knows now. Itโs a good thing. I have nothing to hide,โ Jonathan replied.
Jonathan asked Gary to look after Michael for now and not bring him to the Lynn residence yet. There were too many people, and Michael was still so young.
โDonโt worry, bro. I know what you mean. Mikeโs still little. Without you, heโd definitely be scared,โ Gary said.
โYeah,โ Jonathan replied. โIโm busy here. Iโll hang up now.โ
โAlright,โ Gary agreed.
Jonathan sat by the bed, gazing at Teresa. He already had a son, and honestly, that was enough. At least, he wouldnโt be childless. But now, realizing she was pregnant again, he smiled. โWho wouldโve thought Iโd end up with two kids by thirty-one?โ he mused.
Teresaโs eyelashes fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was Jonathanโs gentle smile. For a split second, she thought she must be dreaming. She realized he was holding her hand, the touch making her palm feel hot, and she quickly pulled away.
โYouโre awake. How are you feeling? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?โ Jonathan asked, reaching out to touch her face, but Teresa turned away.
Jonathan withdrew his hand, forcing himself to be patient. โI bought you some food. Try to eat something now.โ
Teresa snapped back to reality, her voice flat. โI donโt need you fussing over me.โ Remembering Ireneโs words before she passed, she wanted nothing to do with him.
โIโm not hungry,โ she said, turning her back, her posture cold and distant.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow. โHow can you not be hungry after not eating all day? The baby must be starving!โ
Teresaโs body went rigid. โHe knows,โ she thought.
