Before the man could finish, Donald punched him in the arm. Donald said seriously, โIโm not joking. She is my brotherโs ex. If you even think about her, my brother will kill you.โ
The man said, โCome on. Quit messing with me. You donโt have a brother. You only have a little sister, Cheryl.โ
Donald sighed and clarified, โI mean my cousin, Jonathan.โ At that, the manโs grin vanished instantly. Everyone knew the name of the CEO of Horizonlead Group.
โSorry,โ the man said. โI was just running my mouth. Your cousin isnโt actually going to kill me, right?โ
Donald chuckled. โLuckily, heโs not here, or I couldnโt save you.โ The man patted his chest in relief and didnโt dare joke around anymore.
Jennifer picked up some fruit, pastries, and toys for kids, then headed to Teresaโs place. Teresa didnโt let her in, blocking the doorway.
โIf youโre here to invite me to your wedding, Iโll be there the day after tomorrow,โ Teresa said.
โI brought some things for Mike. Iโm hoping I could see him,โ Jennifer said.
โMike is doing just fine. Donโt worry about him. You can leave now,โ Teresa replied, starting to close the door.
Jennifer set the things down by the door. โAt least take them inside for Mike, okay?โ She added, โBesides, maybe you can come to my wedding without Mike. Iโll take you both out for a meal another day instead.โ
Teresaโs face darkened. She said expressionlessly, โMike doesnโt need your charity. Spare him fake concern.โ
Jennifer took a deep breath. Every time she and Teresa met, neither of them was in a good mood. But Jennifer had watched online videos of sisters hugging at weddings, crying, and the younger one singing or dancing for the bride. Those touching moments always made Jennifer wish she could have the same.
โYou want me to dance for you at your wedding?โ Teresa asked. โIโm over four months pregnant. Do you want me to waddle out there and dance for you?โ
Jennifer glanced at Teresa, who was wearing a loose, pale purple T-shirt. โThen just donโt wear something too casual that day, and donโt go for a tight dress either. If youโd rather sing for me, Iโll be really touched,โ Jennifer suggested.
Teresa let out a cold laugh and said in annoyance, โIโm not good at singing.โ With that, Teresa slammed the door shut.
Jennifer stood there a moment, then knocked and called out, โDonโt forget to bring the stuff inside, Iโm off now.โ There was no response.

Chapter 477
Jennifer had just come downstairs and left the neighborhood when a familiar figure appeared in front of her. It was Sanford. He strolled over and greeted her, โWell, fancy running into you here.โ
Jennifer was a bit confused. She didnโt know why Sanford had come.
Sanford said, โIโm just killing time by wandering around. Iโve been hanging out all over Nareigh these days for your wedding, just waiting for the big feast.โ
Jennifer smiled. โIf you donโt want to stay in the hotel, you can live in my hospital dorm.โ
Sanford waved her off with a laugh. โNo, thanks. I canโt stand the smell of disinfectant. It gives me the creeps.โ
โBy the way,โ Jennifer said, bringing up Teresa, โTeresa canโt marry you right now. I talked to her about it, and she said no.โ
Sanford asked, โIs she still waiting for Jonathan? Did she have a kid with him? I donโt mean Isabel, by the way.โ
Jennifer raised her eyebrows and stared at Sanford. Sanford became more serious. โI saw you bought some stuff and went upstairs to see Teresa. Did you pick up toys for a kid, too?โ
