Chapter 460
โI donโt know if youโve seen the news, but just so you know, like you wanted, Iโm getting remarried,โ Jonathan said.
Teresa remained calm. Michael had already shown her Jonathanโs message, so she knew the news was fake. Jonathan wasnโt actually getting married.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes, repeating each word carefully, โI said, Iโm getting remarried.โ
Teresa said, โI heard you. Iโm not bothered. Wishing you a happy marriage and lots of kids. Happy now?โ
Seeing her indifference, Jonathanโs heart sank, and his face turned cold. He added, โThe weddingโs tomorrow.โ
โGreat, Iโll be there to cheer you on,โ Teresa shot back without missing a beat.
Jonathan was speechless. He walked past her, his face expressionless. On this breezy night, a chill ran through him.
Teresa stopped by Cathyโs place first. Cathy had been anxious to see her. Since Teresa suddenly had some free time, she decided to go over in the evening.
Cathy handed Teresa a pink tulle dress sheโd bought.
Teresa ran her hand over the fabric and said, โThis dress is really cute, but itโs a bit too tight on me. Maybe you should give it to Cheryl instead.โ
Teresa wasnโt sure if it was all the good food sheโd had lately or just that time of the month, but she felt like sheโd put on a few pounds. The dress had a super cinched waist, and she didnโt dare try it on.
Cathy laughed and said, โYouโre so slim! Thereโs no way it would be too tight on you.โ
Trying to change the subject, Teresa said, โCathy, did you need something from me?โ
Cathy smiled and said, โTeresa, now that Jennifer and Donald registered their marriage, weโre all family. Donโt be so polite and distant with me.โ
Teresa asked again, โDo you need my help with anything?โ
That was when Cathy finally got to the point. It was about finding bridesmaids.
At least four bridesmaids were needed for the wedding, and their zodiac signs should match Jenniferโs. So far, Cathy had only found three, and she wondered if Teresa knew any single girls her age who could be bridesmaids. With the wedding coming up fast, there wasnโt time to look everywhere, so Cathy felt it was better to find someone reliable.
Teresa thought for a moment and said, โThere is someone my age. But I canโt promise sheโll be able to do it.โ
โThatโs fine, just ask her if sheโs available,โ Cathy said.
Teresa agreed to ask. When she was about to leave, Cathy insisted that she take the dress with her.
When Cathy heard Teresa was going to see Jennifer, she gave Teresa another dress. It was the same style as the pink one, but in rose red. Cathy said the dress was for Jennifer and asked Teresa to bring it to her.
Jennifer hadnโt expected Teresa to come looking for her. She was both surprised and a little flustered. She hurried over to the small pavilion in her neighborhood. Upon seeing Teresa, she complained, โHey, Teresa, why didnโt you just come up to my place?โ
Teresa didnโt want to go into the home Jennifer shared with Donald. She looked at Jenniferโs tired face and said, โI heard you made a mistake during surgery and almost lost a patient.โ
Jenniferโs face stiffened. She said, โIt was just a small slip-up, nothing serious. Iโve already sorted it out. Who told you about it?โ
Teresa replied, โDonald told me. Donโt blame him for talking. Heโs just worried about you. He wanted me, as your sister, to check in on you.โ
Teresa handed Jennifer a delicate shopping bag and added, โCathy asked me to bring you this dress. She bought it for you herself. Youโre lucky to have a mother-in-law who treats you like family. Honestly, youโre pretty blessed.โ With that, she turned to leave.
Jennifer suddenly grabbed Teresaโs wrist. She wanted to tell Teresa something.
