Chapter 748 Birthday

Naomi's twentieth birthday was two days away. Her parents wanted Elvis to throw her a sensational party.

"Sir, you can't keep making promises you can't keep. Just disappoint them!" the maid muttered to herself.

Elvis's expression remained unchanged. He nodded. "Okay, I'll tell the secretary to arrange it. I promise to make it sensational."

The maid was astonished. She couldn't believe Elvis had agreed.

Naomi's parents, Eleanor and Franklin, realized they had fallen for Elvis. He was, in their words, "really stupid and super cute."

"Mr. Augustine, thank you so much," Franklin said flatteringly. "We'll get Naomi and Clement divorced as soon as possible, so they can break up openly. Then Naomi can concentrate on serving you alone."

Elvis hooked his thin lips into an enigmatic smile. He said nothing, simply leaving the villa.

In the Rolls-Royce, Elvis reviewed documents in the back seat. Peterson, in the front, asked, "Master, do you really want to throw a birthday party for Naomi?" Elvis lowered his handsome eyelids, focusing on the documents.

"Master, that couple is insatiably greedy. Even if you care for Naomi, there's no need to indulge them."

Elvis's thin lips curved into a slight arc. "Don't worry, I'm just toying with them."

Molly was locked in a small, dark room. She looked up as Olive entered, Sadie carrying a chair. Olive sat, elegantly pouring herself tea.

"Molly," Olive asked, "tell me, who is your master?"

Molly, mentally prepared for this interrogation, glared at Olive. "Olive, don't be clever. I don't have a master. I hate you, I hate Elvis, I hate all of you. I did it all myself."

"Oh, really?" Olive sipped her tea. "Your Mermen powers infiltrated Imperial City over thirty years ago. You were the first to discover Aunt Bounty's background. And you all infiltrated Greenland, pretending to be good citizens. That's not something you could do alone."

Molly's pupils constricted. Olive was too perceptive; nothing escaped her.

Molly snorted. "Those are just your guesses. I won't tell you anything!"

Olive set down her teacup and stood, squatting beside Molly. "I know I can't force you to talk. You'd better pray your master keeps her tail hidden. Don't let me find her."

Molly's heart sank. She was terrified of Naomi's secret being revealed.

Olive, from Visionary, had already destroyed the Mermen cornerstone buried in Greenland's Royal Palace for years and was now meddling in the Augustine family's secrets.

"Molly," Olive said, "I actually came to borrow something..."

"What?" Molly asked.

Olive's bright eyes flickered down to the string of red demon bells at Molly's waist.

"No way!"

Molly's eyes flashed with alertness. She reached to cover the bells, but Olive was faster.

"Give it back! Olive, give me back the demon bell!" Molly demanded.

Olive stepped back, holding up the bells. Her eyes shone. "Molly, don't be stingy. I'll only use it for a while."

Molly, chained to the floor, lunged at Olive, but fell heavily. She glared, fists clenched. "What do you want? What do you want with my demon bell?"

Olive remained calm. "The Augustine family's suffering began with a string of demon bells. Let me end it with this one."

Molly stared, breathless, at Olive.

Olive left, Sadie following. "Princess, where do you think the Mermen princess is?"

"She's closer than we think," Olive murmured.

Sadie was confused. "Then who is this Mermen princess?"

Olive looked up at the sky. "We'll know soon. Let's go."

"Princess, where are we going?"

"To the hospital, to see Aunt Bounty."

At the hospital, Olive saw Alpha, Annabelle, and Rory. Alpha held Annabelle's arm, his face grim. Annabelle looked pale and distressed, trying to pull away.

"Alpha, you've misunderstood," Annabelle whispered. "I came to see Bounty. I met Rory in the ward. We didn't even talk."

Olive sighed. Alpha was clearly jealous. A man of his age, still so possessive!
