Chapter 381: Come Back To Me

The unfamiliar woman was tall and strikingly beautiful. She exuded an air of impeccable grace, with a hint of mixed heritage adding to her allure. It was drizzling, and Leonardo opened his umbrella to shield her from the rain. His tie was slightly askew, so she straightened it for him. The two of them were standing incredibly close; from Rayleeโ€™s perspective, they were practically glued together. They appeared to be a perfect match, their closeness mimicking that of a couple deeply in love. If they are a couple, then what am I?

Suddenly, tears blurred Rayleeโ€™s vision. Her heart felt as if it had been stabbed by a sharp blade. One stab, then anotherโ€ฆ The pain was so intense that she wished for death. At that moment, she had a strong urge to confront Leonardo, to question him about the woman. Who is she? What is their relationship? However, she lacked the courage to do so. She was afraid that the answer she would receive was exactly what she had anticipated.

As if things couldnโ€™t get worse, Casimir conveniently approached her and commented, โ€œIsnโ€™t that Mr. Foucault? The woman standing before him, if Iโ€™m not mistaken, is called Angela. She was in the same cohort as Percival. Years ago, she was caught in a media firestorm due to a medical incident. Later, she went abroad for further studies. However, donโ€™t let her past medical mishap fool you. It doesnโ€™t diminish her brilliance in the slightest. She holds a doctorate in medicine, and her expertise is in no way inferior to that of Percival. She was once well-known in the capitalโ€™s circle, recognized as a prodigy in medicine. Moreover, she hails from a wealthy family.โ€

Raylee bit her lip. So, sheโ€™s Angela, huh? The woman doctor who often video calls Leonardo in the middle of the night and affectionately calls him Leo. Once, it had sparked her jealousy. Upon seeing her today, Raylee couldnโ€™t help but feel her jealousy intensify, as Angelaโ€™s appearance, status, and accomplishments were far superior to hers.

Observing Rayleeโ€™s tear-streaked face, Casimir felt a pang of bitterness in his heart. โ€œSo, it seems like youโ€™ve really fallen for Mr. Foucault, but he already has such an outstanding woman by his side. Ray-Ray, donโ€™t be naive. You and Mr. Foucault are from two different worlds. Do you really think heโ€™d be interested in you? You might only see Angela now, but there might be countless other Angelas out there still. How could a man like Mr. Foucault possibly lack attractive and accomplished women by his side?โ€

As he spoke, he gently held Rayleeโ€™s shoulders, offering advice with unmatched sincerity. โ€œRay-Ray, thereโ€™s always a way out. Youโ€™ve just fallen for him, and your feelings arenโ€™t that deep yet. Itโ€™s time to draw the line. I donโ€™t mind if youโ€™ve loved him before. As long as you donโ€™t give up on me, I wonโ€™t give up on you. Come back to me, and we can be together, alright?โ€

Raylee regained her composure, her expression unreadable as she fixed her gaze on Casimir. โ€œOh? Is that so? I definitely wonโ€™t give up!โ€

Just as a glimmer of joy flashed in Casimirโ€™s eyes, Raylee landed a punch on his stomach before snapping, โ€œI wonโ€™t give up on hitting you! Donโ€™t you dare touch me again. The next time, I swear Iโ€™ll break that arm of yours!โ€

After spending over half a year together, she didnโ€™t know much about Leonardo. Her understanding of his personality, the way he interacted with the world, and his attitude toward relationships remained superficial, but her feelings for him were undeniable. He was her redemption in the darkness, pulling her out from a bottomless abyss and nurturing her as one would a delicate flower in a greenhouse. Loving someone was like tending to a flower. Regardless of his true character, she, the flower, bloomed even more beautifully under his nurturing. That was enough for her, as she knew she shouldnโ€™t get greedy in life. After all, it was rare for a person on the brink of death to encounter someone who would care for them wholeheartedly. Thereโ€™s no reason for me to feel unsatisfied. Whatโ€™s wrong with just enjoying our remaining days together?

After giving herself a pep talk, Raylee didnโ€™t feel as upset anymore. Having slightly recovered, Casimir, however, came running over to fan the flames. โ€œRay-Ray, do you really think you can compare to Angela? Apart from being a bit younger, how else are you better than her? In terms of family background, she comes from a well-educated and respected family in Jexburgh. And you? Youโ€™ve already severed ties with the Goodridge family. Youโ€™re not even an adopted daughter anymore. Youโ€™re just the daughter of a housekeeper. You have nothing to be proud of. How can you even compare to Angela?โ€
