Chapter 380: The Delusion of Casimir

That said, Raylee had absolutely no interest in his affairs with Waverly. All she cared about now was the masked man. There was no room in her heart for any other man, let alone a jerk like Casimir.

Raylee turned to leave, but Casimir stepped forward to stop her. โ€œRayโ€”Ray, donโ€™t go,โ€ he said. โ€œItโ€™s rare for us to meet today. Letโ€™s go inside and have a chat. Iโ€™ll buy you anything you want.โ€

โ€œForget it!โ€ Raylee flatly refused.

โ€œCan you stop treating me like this, please? Itโ€™s clear you still love me, and youโ€™re finding it hard to let go. So why resort to such a harsh attitude, causing pain to both of us?โ€ Casimir seemed somewhat annoyed. โ€œWe shouldnโ€™t be wasting our time on such romantic drama right now. We should be united in heart and mind, drawing resources from Mr. Foucault. Only when I become stronger will I be worthy of marrying you. Whatโ€™s the point of you sulking in front of me all the time? Shouldnโ€™t you be doing something concrete instead? Other than upsetting both of us, it serves no purpose!โ€

Raylee couldnโ€™t help but laugh at his audacity. โ€œOh my God, Mr. Sutherland, where on earth did you get the idea that Iโ€™m hopelessly smitten with you? You truly are sick with narcissism! However, given how self-obsessed you are, youโ€™re beyond hope. Even if youโ€™re cured, you would be nothing but a retard. So, just stop making a fool of yourself!โ€

โ€œRayโ€”Ray, do you mean what you say?โ€ Casimir asked, hope still lingering in his voice. โ€œI refuse to believe it. After all the years weโ€™ve shared, itโ€™s impossible for you to just move on!โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t care whether you believe it or not!โ€ Raylee sneered.

โ€œCould it be that youโ€™ve fallen for Mr. Foucault during the time youโ€™ve been together?โ€ Casimir was filled with intense jealousy.

โ€œI had anticipated this outcome. Itโ€™s hard not to be moved by a man as exceptional as Mr. Foucault. However, you have to ask yourself, are you being realistic? Have you considered your own status? Isnโ€™t he out of your league? Rayโ€”Ray, itโ€™s not that I believe youโ€™re unworthy of him. Rather, I want you to recognize the realityโ€”the gap between you and Mr. Foucault is simply too big. You should be with someone of similar status. Thatโ€™s just how the world works.โ€

Raylee couldnโ€™t be bothered to waste her words on him. Yet, Casimir was relentless in his attempts to persuade her.

โ€œRayโ€”Ray, to put it bluntly, even if you were to be with me, you wouldnโ€™t be a match. After all, I am the heir to the Sutherland family, and youโ€™re merely an adopted daughter of the Goodridge family. But who can deny our feelings? And my love for you? I can overcome any obstacle to be with you, but my efforts alone arenโ€™t enough. Rayโ€”Ray, we need to do this together. Only a relationship where two parties strive together can truly last. I donโ€™t mind that youโ€™ve been intimate with Mr. Foucault, nor do I hold it against you for momentarily losing your judgment and developing feelings for him. As long as you come back to me, Iโ€™ll be waiting for you still.โ€

With that, Casimir couldnโ€™t help but reach out, longing to caress her smooth cheek. However, before he could even make contact, Raylee shoved him away. โ€œGet lost, you idiot! I donโ€™t want you to wait for me. I stopped liking you a long time ago, you scumbag. Donโ€™t flatter yourself. You make me sick!โ€

After unleashing her tirade, she still wasnโ€™t satisfied. She took it a step further by kicking him. Suffering a barrage of kicks, Casimir was forced to retreat. It was only by grabbing onto a nearby car that he managed to prevent himself from falling down miserably.

He gritted his teeth and said, โ€œRaylee, when did you become so aggressive? Youโ€™re a girl. You shouldnโ€™t resort to violence at the drop of a hat. Itโ€™s quite unladylike! When it comes to being gentle and considerate, youโ€™re nowhere near Waverly. I donโ€™t even need you to be gentle, but at the very least, you should act like a normal person. Letโ€™s not even talk about me. With your violent tendencies, Mr. Foucault is bound to grow tired of you!โ€

No sooner had she taken a step forward than she found herself rooted to the spot, as though her feet were stuck with some kind of super glue. Her gaze was fixed intently on the man and woman not too far away. She had thought that running into Casimir was bad enough, but the scene unfolding not far from her shattered her heart. Shockingly, Leonardo had emerged from a car, accompanied by an unfamiliar woman.
