Chapter 363: Severely Misunderstood

The masked man was nonplussed. “All right; let go of me now. It’s the middle of the night, and we’re two grown men hugging in an underground parking lot. I don’t want people to get the wrong idea.”

Halston stubbornly twisted his body, his crying intensifying. “I refuse to let go! You’re my sworn brother! I’m scared that you’ll disappear if I let you go!! Mr. Lorimer, do you have any idea how much I missed you every single moment you were gone? I thought I would never see you again! When you passed away, I was still in the military, so I couldn’t even attend your funeral. Do you know how much I regretted that? After retiring, they informed me that they couldn’t even locate your remains. I wished to pay my respects to you, but couldn’t find where your ashes were buried. I was so heartbroken!”

“Would you mind letting go of me first? I don’t want others to get the wrong idea and think I swing that way!” the masked man snapped irritably.

No sooner had he finished speaking than he saw Raylee standing at the elevator entrance. Well, it seems the misunderstanding has already taken place…

“I won’t let go! I won’t let go even if it kills me!” Halston held him tightly, refusing to release his grip. The reluctance he displayed was akin to that of lovers on the brink of parting.

When Raylee woke up, she didn’t see the masked man. Then, she overheard the bodyguard mention that someone had challenged him to a one-on-one fight. Immediately, her thoughts turned to Halston, and she came down anxiously to check on things, only to witness this scene instead. From her perspective, she was witnessing two grown men locked in a close embrace. At first glance, she thought she must’ve been seeing things. Upon a second glance, and then a third, her mind went completely blank. She could vaguely hear phrases Halston was saying, about how much he missed the masked man and how he thought he wouldn’t be able to see him again. Isn’t that the kind of sweet talk reserved for lovers? So, Leonardo and Halston were a couple all along?

“Let go of me, you idiot!” the masked man demanded, forcefully peeling off what felt like a relentless nuisance. Then, he headed straight toward Raylee. Halston quickly caught up to them.

The masked man explained, “Ray–Ray, please don’t get the wrong idea. This fool snuck out of the hospital in the middle of the night to challenge me to a one-on-one fight.”

“Mr. L-“ Before Halston could finish his sentence, he was met with a stern glare from the masked man. He quickly corrected himself, “K–R–Right! I came here to challenge Mr. Foucault to a one-on-one fight!”

Even though he couldn’t fathom why his sworn brother had turned into Leonardo, and how he had come back to life after being presumed dead… What unknown secrets had truly transpired there?!

5:11 PM

Chapter 363: Severely Misunderstood

The fact that he’s alive is all that matters! Nothing else matters anymore! The thought alone filled him with such joy that he could hardly contain it, and once again, he was moved to tears.

Seeing Halston’s tearful state, Raylee frowned and asked, “It was supposed to be a one-on-one fight, so how did it end up with you two embracing each other? And why are you crying so heartbrokenly? Did you two experience love at first sight, regret not meeting each other sooner, and were consumed by a passion so intense that it couldn’t be contained?”

The masked man felt as though he was suffering in silence; his bitterness was something he couldn’t express. To make matters worse, Halston was wiping his tears while nodding in agreement.

“Ah, yes! I missed Mr. Foucault so much that I couldn’t help but hug him. No, that’s not right. Ray–Ray, don’t get the wrong idea. My relationship with Mr. Foucault isn’t what you’re imagining. We are buddies, the best of friends, for a lifetime! Mr. Leonardo, from now on, you’re my sworn brother!”

Faced with Halston’s incoherent ramblings, even the masked man had to admit defeat. With a forceful kick, he almost sent Halston sprawling to the ground. Far from being angry, Halston instead reacted with a mix of laughter and tears. Raylee watched as the two exchanged flirtatious glances and their ambiguous interactions. No one would believe it if they said there was absolutely no connection between them. One is the man I love, and the other is a man who’s courting me. How did they suddenly end up together? The world has…

Completely unable to accept it, Raylee needed some peace and quiet. She then turned around and stepped into the elevator. The masked man wanted to follow her inside, but was held back by the weeping Halston.

“-Wait, Mr. Leonardo! Before you leave, I still have something to say to you.” The way he called him “Mr. Leonardo” was as revolting as it could possibly be. Chills ran down Raylee’s spine. Watching the two of them clinging tightly together like that, she couldn’t bear to look any longer. She immediately closed the elevator door. The world had turned into something she could no longer comprehend.

“Enough with the crying! Quiet down immediately!” The masked man was so irritated that he was gritting his teeth. “You idiot! Ray–Ray clearly misunderstood! Why the f*ck were you hugging me for no reason?”
