Chapter 351: Rooftop Confrontation
Fearing Waverly might cause trouble again, Samuel had been keeping a close eye on her lately. He forbade her from seeing Mindy and prohibited her from transferring money to her. He exhausted every possible means to prevent her from associating with this dubious character. He had no other choice, as he had truly seen Waverly’s true colors. A woman, not particularly known for her intellect, continued to associate with this detrimental friend, fully aware of the numerous unlawful acts she had committed. This was no longer a matter of being unable to discern right from wrong. Therefore, he had to resort to stern measures to separate them.
In the hospital, Mindy had reached her boiling point. She added Waverly on an alternate account and sent her countless text messages.
“I’ve spent all my money treating my face! If you don’t give me more money, the hospital is going to kick me out! I’ve done my research. There’s a hospital in Kylara that can treat my face, promising at least an eighty percent recovery. However, I will need five million, so hurry up and help me gather the money! Haverly, why are you ignoring me? You better think this through! I’m not someone you can just choose to acknowledge or ignore at will! Are you really going to be so heartless, leaving me behind? Believe it or not, I can make myself out of your league! Fine! You’re really something, Waverly! All right, then, I guess I won’t mind announcing your secret to the world! My life now is no different from being dead anyway. If it comes to it, I’ll just take you down with me! Don’t expect to keep living your carefree life as your privileged little prominent young lady now that I’m in trouble!”
Waverly was flustered when she saw Mindy’s threats, which were full of hostility. No matter how she tried to soothe Mindy, it was of no use. Waverly’s patience had reached its peak. She could no longer stand the feeling of being threatened by others. My money doesn’t just fall from the sky. Time and again, Mindy asked me for large sums of money. How am I supposed to produce that much money! She was terrified that Mindy would indeed bring her down with her if she failed to meet the latter’s demands. Fearing that her past acts would be exposed, she was perpetually on edge, living in constant fear and apprehension. She feared she would become an outcast, abandoned by the Goodridge family, and once again reduced to a lowly resident of the slums. As time passed, all the fear within her transformed into resentment, gradually evolving into deep-seated hatred. Every single day, Waverly wished nothing more than for this woman to drop dead.
Finally, one late night, while Samuel was away on a trip, she found herself not being watched so closely.

Chapter 351: Rooftop Confrontation
“Waverly, have you finally decided to see me? I’ve been waiting for what feels like an eternity. It truly hasn’t been easy! I thought the esteemed daughter of the Goodridge family had completely despised a loser like me!”
Looking at Mindy, whose entire head was swathed in bandages, Waverly truly felt a profound sense of repulsion. People with such insatiable greed have no right to exist in this world. The sooner they’re gone, the better!
“Why are you looking at me with such an expression? Hahaha, do you despise me? Want to get rid of me? You thought by ditching me, you could just comfortably resume your life as a prominent young lady? How naive! Absolutely laughable! You called me a fool, but in reality, you’re the one who’s truly senseless!” Mindy taunted her mercilessly.
Exhausting her last ounce of patience, Waverly managed to flash her a smile. “Mindy, your face is already disfigured. Why can’t you just keep calm and live peacefully? Your constant aggression is making things uncomfortable for both of us.”
Mindy roared at her in anger, saying, “Live peacefully? How can I live peacefully? My appearance is ruined! My life is ruined! If you were in my shoes, you would’ve lost your sanity long ago! I’ve tried every possible way to reach out to you for so long, but you’ve consistently ignored me! Since you’re going to do this, don’t blame me for what comes next! My patience is running thin, so get my money ready immediately! I need to go to Kylara for my facial treatment!”
Waverly responded nonchalantly. “It’s not like I deliberately avoided seeing you. My brother watched me like a hawk, not allowing me any contact with you. He was shadowing me like a ghost, so what could I have done? If you’re looking for someone to blame, it should be yourself for not being strong-willed. Your work was far from clean, and you’re always involved in foolish deeds. Yet, you lack the ability to clean up the mess you’ve made. Calling you worthless would be an insult to the word itself.”
“How dare you insult me!” Mindy flew into a rage out of humiliation. She raised her hand, delivering a fierce slap. A forceful slap landed, knocking Waverly’s head to the side.
She clenched her fists tightly, almost growling under her breath as she retorted, “Was I wrong? Every attempt to mess with Raylee has ended in failure. What are you, if not useless? To think you even threatened to have us go down together. What did I do wrong that made you want to bring me down with you? The one who wronged you was Raylee. Reprisal for a wrong should be directed at the perpetrator. Instead of settling the score with her, you chose to target me. How is that fair to me?”
