Chapter 317: A Perfect Fit
She tried fighting for justice for her orchids; all she sought was fairness. However, everyone in the Goodridge family turned against her.
One after another, they urged her indifferently, โArenโt they just plants? Why do you have to make such a big fuss about it? Wavy didnโt know any better; she thought they were just weeds, so she crushed them all. She didnโt do it on purpose.โ
According to them, Waverly didnโt do it on purpose because she was naive. She was the victim because she got switched at birth. Everyone stood from the victimโs perspective, launching their criticisms at Raylee.
Later on, as if Waverly had derived pleasure from tormenting her, she became more audacious, inventing new ways to destroy the things Raylee cherished. The countless collectible figurines she had been collecting since her childhood were either missing or broken. Even her beloved Ragdoll cat was โaccidentallyโ overfed to death. Despite having moved into the Goodridge Manor, Waverly still managed to accidentally damage her belongings.
Bitter memories flooded her mind, one after another, causing Raylee to involuntarily clench her fists. Suddenly, she ordered the workers moving things in the courtyard, โGet rid of all these rose lilies and all the other flowers. Theyโre giving me a headache. Also, donate everything that originally belonged to the owner of this mansion. That includes her clothes, shoes, and hats. Only keep the valuable stuff. Iโll sell them off later.โ
โUnderstood, Ms. Somers!โ
Raylee then entered the mansion once again. Although Waverly had been poor from a young age, the interior design of the mansion truly had taste and style. It was as grand and luxurious as the castles of princesses from legends. Any woman who saw it would have liked it. However, it wasnโt long before the operations of this princess paradise were about to change.
Raylee was planning to transform this mansion into the most luxurious public restroom in Jexburgh. As for Goodridge Groupโs headquarters, she decided to turn it into a funeral company that integrated both production and sales. I bet the Goodridge family would be delighted after seeing this!
As Raylee was deep in thought, planning her next move, she realized she had quite a knack for scheming. Without further ado, she spilled all her ideas to her friend, Plumpy. After consulting with the masked man, Plumpy quickly relayed the result by saying, โMs. Somers, Mr. Foucault mentioned that Snow Wave Amusement Park is now under your ownership. You have the authority to decide its business direction, and no one else has the right to interfere.โ
โAll right, then. Do as Iโve instructed for the public restroom and the funeral company!โ
She was curious about how stringent the approval process was. Considering the vast amount of remaining space, she was even contemplating setting up a crematorium. The funeral and cremation could then be conducted in a full package. The Goodridge family would surely be shocked to find out that their largest foundational project had been replaced byโฆ

Chapter 317: A Perfect Fit
The latch on the jewelry box had broken, spilling out a heap of trinkets that didnโt look particularly valuable. The pendant on one of the necklaces bore a peculiar design. It looked incredibly familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere before. Immediately, Raylee picked up the pendant.
Soon enough, she remembered. The peculiar pendant, with eight corners, bore a striking resemblance to one side of the self-destructing box she had taken from Veraโs safe. Realizing something was amiss, she immediately returned to Royal Court with the pendant in hand.
After she took out the self-destructing box, she quickly flipped to the side that resembled the shape of the octagonal pendant. Instead of saying they were similar, it would be more appropriate to say that they were exactly alike in shape and size. In fact, it was a completely perfect fit.
She immediately took the octagonal pendant and fit it into the corresponding octagonal recess on the box. With a click, the octagonal pendant fit perfectly into the recess. As if it had been sucked in, it was so deeply embedded that not even the slightest nook or trace could be found, no matter how much one tried to pry it out.
Rayleeโs heart was pounding with excitement as she finally understood the meaning of the words written in that letter. Only by gathering items of the same shape on all six sides and fitting them into the recesses, could the self-destructing box be opened safely.
The octagonal pendant was seamlessly fitted into one of the octagonal recesses, so she still had five recesses left. Without a momentโs hesitation, Raylee excitedly ran back to the mansion and fervently searched through Waverlyโs belongings at the entrance.
Regrettably, after rummaging for quite a while, she didnโt find any other pendants. Initially, she had thought that she could unveil the secret of the self-destructing box immediately by gathering the rest of the patterns. This inevitably led to her feeling disappointed.
โCould it be a mere coincidence?โ Raylee muttered, torn with uncertainty. If so, then why did Waverly have this octagonal-shaped pendant? Whatโs the connection between Waverly and the mystery of my origins?
