Chapter 311: No Choice But To Concede

“I hold fifteen percent of Goodridge Group’s shares. I’m willing to give them all up. You put in another fifteen, and that makes exactly thirty. All I want is to save Wavy!” said Harriet.

“Dad, please just go along with Mom. Stop causing further trouble, will you?”

The family of three was in a lively debate. After a thorough discussion, they decided to give up their shares. The paperwork was processed swiftly, and in just one afternoon, the shares of Goodridge Group were transferred from the foundation to Raylee’s account. With thirty percent of the shares, she had become the largest shareholder of Goodridge Group. That was twice as much as what Casimir had deceived her of. This feeling was incredibly satisfying.

Of course, Raylee also kept her promise and had the masked man release Waverly that very day. Naturally, she was far from satisfied to see Waverly being released just like that. However, Tiffany was even more upset about her release. By letting Waverly out, Raylee was setting the stage for a future showdown between the two. Raylee would then watch the drama unfold from the side, which would be a much more satisfying experience.

Being a man of foresight, Alaric knew that using Leonardo’s connections to bail his daughter out was not a sustainable plan. So, he personally made a trip to the Lorimer Estate, met up with Victor, and apologized to him in person. Victor expressed his outrage over the scandal involving his daughter.

“Mr. Goodridge, isn’t it a bit late for an apology now? Do you know that the news about my daughter has already spread globally? Public opinion is still raging, and it’s basically impossible to suppress!”

Alaric, as cunning as a fox, analyzed the situation leisurely and said, “Mr. Lorimer, with the influence of the Lorimer family within the country, suppressing a scandal shouldn’t actually be that difficult. The public relations team of Lorimer Group is a renowned entity. Don’t you find it odd that the scandal still can’t be suppressed even till today? I believe someone is using this incident to deliberately undermine the Lorimer family. Simply put, they’re using someone else to do their dirty work.”

Victor’s gaze suddenly deepened. “You’re saying someone is using the Goodridge family to attack the Lorimer family?”

“Surely, a person of your caliber wouldn’t fail to notice, right, Mr. Victor?”

“Well, that didn’t stop your daughter from fanning the flames of my daughter’s scandal, did it? So, tell me, how do you plan to settle this mess?”

Victor’s dark pupils shifted as he continued, “If you’re truly sincere, then give me Snow Wave Amusement Park!”

“What?” Alaric immediately rejected, saying, “Snow Wave Amusement Park is my daughter’s dowry, as well as Goodridge Group’s largest ongoing project at the moment—”

Victor cut him off, saying, “Just tell me whether you’ll give it to me or not! As long as you’re willing to hand it over, I promise that Tiffany will never bother your daughter again. Otherwise, I would have no choice but to turn a blind eye to her actions.” His tone was casual, yet it carried a palpable sense of threat.

Alaric was instantly in a predicament. First, he transferred thirty percent of his shares to Raylee, and now he was being asked to hand over Goodridge Group’s largest project. He couldn’t possibly be willing to accept this outcome. However, just because Waverly had just managed to get out of trouble, it didn’t mean she could rest easy from then on. If Tiffany were to relentlessly come after her like a rabid dog, then it would have been pointless to rescue her at all. The thirty percent of his shares would also be surrendered in vain.

In order to resolve matters once and for all, Alaric had no choice but to concede.

“Mr. Victor, as you suggested, I’ll be handing Snow Wave Amusement Park over to you. I hope you could keep Ms. Tiffany under control, so she won’t be able to harm my daughter in the future.”

“Of course, Mr. Goodridge. You can rest assured,” said Victor with a calculating glint in his eyes.

After the project transfer procedures were completed, Tiffany hurriedly sought out her father upon receiving the news. She expressed her frustration and urgency by exclaiming, “Dad, did you really get swayed that easily by a lousy project? There’s absolutely no way I’m letting that b*tch Waverly off the hook so easily!”

Victor said with a serious expression, “Let’s put an end to this matter, no more fussing about it. If you’re feeling down lately, then consider taking a trip abroad to clear your mind.”

“But, Dad…”

“No one can change what I’ve decided! This isn’t your first time dealing with such a scandal. Don’t think I’m unaware of your scandals abroad. If you keep going on like this, then you’ll have to face the consequences yourself!” said Victor with a huff.

Faced with her father’s warning, Tiffany found herself at a loss. Despite being extremely angry, she didn’t dare to voice any objections.

Victor frowned. “Who said I was going to give you Snow Wave Amusement Park?”
