Raylee scoffed. “You’re really adorable, Mr. Goodridge. Have you ever heard of anyone who’d voluntarily part with their money like that?”

Samuel was livid. “I can’t believe you swindled that much money from Waverly! Do you really think everyone in the Goodridge family are pushovers? I’ll call the cops on you!”

“Go ahead; I’m all for it!” Raylee retorted, rolling her eyes dismissively.

Upon seeing Raylee’s calm demeanor, Samuel knew things weren’t as simple as they seemed. “What is going on? Why did you swindle Wavy out of so much money? Make yourself clear!”

“Why don’t you go ask your dear sister? Why ask me?” scoffed Raylee.

“I will definitely get to the bottom of this; you won’t be able to escape. You won’t get any money that doesn’t belong to you!” After expressing his indignation, Samuel asked, “Where are you living now? Who was it that treated your injuries?”

He was indeed angry, but Raylee’s attire that night had truly taken his breath away. At that moment, describing her as merely beautiful was no longer sufficient. She was so beautiful that she looked like a fairy that had descended to earth. She was still as beautiful as before she was imprisoned, no, even more so. The naivety of her youth before she turned eighteen had been replaced by an intellectual beauty that only a mature woman could possess.

A wave of regret washed over Samuel. Had it not been for those four years of imprisonment, Raylee would have remained the cherished little princess of the Goodridge family, the beloved younger sister he doted on. Samuel quickly caught up to Raylee and gripped her shoulder, his voice laced with irritation. “I’m asking you a question here. Why aren’t you answering? Can’t I, as your former brother, show a bit of concern about your recent situation? How long are you going to hold this grudge against me? Just because you’re heartless, doesn’t mean I am!”

Raylee couldn’t comprehend how he had the nerve to call her heartless. There was neither affection nor concern between them anymore.

However, she could understand how someone foolish like him would fail to grasp reality.

“Let go!” Raylee warned coldly, looking at the hand on her shoulder. “Of course, if you wish…”

Samuel, unwilling to let go, pressed on with his questions. “Or is it just like Wavy speculated? You’ve actually latched onto a wealthy man, and this man is not only older, but also married!”

They truly are siblings, huh? They even spread rumors exactly the same way!

Infuriated, Raylee swiftly countered with a grappling move, seizing Samuel’s arm and yanking it backward.

Crack! The sound of bones breaking echoed through the air. Samuel’s arm had been dislocated and hung down limply. The pain was so intense that it made him cry out on the spot. “Argh!”

“Mr. Goodridge, I’m no longer the adopted daughter of the Goodridge family, so keep your distance from me. I don’t want people to misunderstand our relationship!” Raylee said as she turned and walked away.

This weakling sure is a pathetic excuse for a sparring partner! I haven’t even exerted my full strength, yet he was already incapacitated! How worthless!

Samuel was urgently whisked away to the restroom. Fortunately, a friend of his was a doctor and managed to reattach his arm. Once the pain had slightly subsided, he immediately hired a lawyer to investigate the matter of the three hundred million.
