Chapter 216: A Coward
โGo on! Hit me if you dare! If you canโt kill me, perhaps you should change your last name!โ Raylee vented her anger without restraint. โAt home, youโre nothing but a burden, and outside, youโre a coward who even dares to lay hands on a woman! Youโve spent your whole life without any real skills, and your only talent is distorting the truth and wrongly accusing others! Having grown up as you have, it seems like youโre the universeโs idea of a sick joke. People like you, without the protection of your family, are nothing but a worthless piece! With so many people dying every day, why havenโt you been one of them? Your existence is a mere waste of air, and your death would be a waste of land!โ
After hearing a barrage of angry words from Raylee, Samuel was thoroughly irritated. Without further ado, he rushed forward to pull Raylee away, his fist immediately greeting Percivalโs face.
Percival was utterly baffled by their conversation. The moment before the fist could land, he caught hold of Samuelโs wrist, saying irritably, โSamuel, calm down. Who are you calling an adulterer? On what grounds are you accusing me? Who exactly have I betrayed?โ
โStill here pretending, are you?โ Samuel gritted his teeth, glaring at him relentlessly. โYou thought you could pull the wool over everyoneโs eyes, but you didnโt expect to get caught by me, did you? Tell me. How long have you and Raylee been secretly seeing each other? A year? Six months? Or just a month? Iโm warning you. Raylee is my sister. How dare you mess with her? You must be tired of living! Donโt think just because youโre Casimirโs childhood friend, I wouldnโt dare to lay a hand on you!โ
A wild fury coursed through every vein in Samuelโs body. In the next moment, he clenched his other fist, brutally striking the corner of Percivalโs mouth.
Percival was still in a state of confusion. Caught off guard, Percival was punched. He then touched his face and realized he was bleeding. Such a ruthless move!
At that point, Samuel was still fuming. He raised his fist, ready to throw another punch.
โArenโt you done? Well, then. Donโt blame me for losing my patience!โ Percival skillfully dodged his attack, patiently waiting for the right moment. Once he saw his chance, he struck a forceful blow to a pressure point on Samuelโs neck.
โArgh!โ Samuel suddenly let out a cry of distress. The intense pain in that moment nearly sent him to meet his maker. He grimaced, clutching his neck, a flicker of almost imperceptible fear flashing across his face. He was the very picture of a cat whose tail had been stepped on.
Percival warned him in a deep tone, โIโm skilled in both modern medicine and traditional medicine, and incidentally, I have some combat arts skills. Mr. Goodridge, if you insist on courting disaster, I wouldnโt mind showing you a taste of my capabilities.โ
Samuel dared not move forward. Instead, he took two steps back and stared intently at Percival. That previous moment had caused him quite a significant amount of pain. It felt as though he had been abruptly struck by lightning, a fierce surge of electricity coursing through his most sensitive nerve. That was a pain that originated deep within the bones. Even until then, he hadnโt been able to recover. He couldnโt bear to go through it all over again.
Watching Samuel scared out of his wits, Raylee felt an immense sense of satisfaction. She had initially picked up a brick, ready to send Samuel straight to heaven, but there was no need for that anymore.
They always say not to offend those in the medical field. Otherwise, they will make you suffer.
โHave you calmed down?โ Percival asked, a hint of seriousness seeping through his tone. โCould you please elaborate, Mr. Goodridge, on what you just said?โ
Percival didnโt know how he had become an adulterer in Samuelโs eyes. Is he accusing me of sneaking around with Raylee?
Gritting his teeth in condemnation, Samuel said, โWhat are you pretending for? I caught you red-handed, and you still wonโt admit it! Percival, I never thought youโd be such a coward. You have the audacity to act but not the courage to admit it. Youโre nothing but a coward, and I despise you deeply!โ
Percival simply felt that he was inexplicably baffled. When his temper flared, he didnโt bother to hide his displeasure.
โWhy would I admit to something Iโve never done? My relationship with Ray-Ray is pure and innocent. Youโve accused us for no reason. Are you even a man? Besides, why have you accused me of messing around with your sister? Setting everything else aside, what gives you the right to claim Ray-Ray as your sister? Ever since she came out of prison, have you ever treated her like a sister?โ
Percivalโs words were like fuel to the fire. With a surge of anger, Samuel took a step forward, seizing Percival by the collar, and roared, โWho gave you the right to call her Ray-Ray? Who do you think you are? Whether or not I consider her my sister, itโs none of your business! Even if I bore a deep grudge against her, I wouldnโt allow you to bully her! Iโm warning you. Stay away from her. Even if you possess the greatest abilities, I can still ensure youโre banished from Jexburgh!โ
