Chapter 159: Good or Evil
โOur fance is now worthless. Well, perhaps not entirely worthless. We can send him to the medical ship in international waters. After all, heโs been in the District Nine Prison, so his organs are worth more than the average personโs.โ
Fury blared in Kayleeโs eyes. โSo, you never intended to release Jeremiah from the very beginning. You made me come to pick him up just to deceive me.โ
Bastian cocked an eyebrow at her, his face filled with mischief. โKay-Ray, youโre really sharp, but donโt you worry, I wonโt send you to the medical ship. That place is terrifying. They perform kidney surgeries without anesthesia. How could a girl like you endure that? Besides, youโre worth far more than your fance. It wouldnโt make sense to send you there.โ
His lackadaisical demeanor was so irritating that Raylee felt a strong urge to punch him in the face. Suppressing her urge to lose her temper, she asked, โWhy am I so valuable? Is it because Iโve been to the District Nineโฆโ
โWhy donโt you make a guess?โ
Bastian started to play coy, squatting down next to her and looking straight into her eyes.
Baylee had a vague understanding of the reason. It was likely due to the fact that she was used as a guinea pig in the District Nine Prison. They are interested in my body, or more specifically, my organs, arenโt they?
She didnโt waste words with Bastian. Casting a glance at the pistol in his pocket, she casually asked, โAre you sure Jeremiahโs going?โ
โHis fate is sealed. Death is inevitable for him. However, considering your loyalty to him, I will protect you. Stay with me, and I promise you will live a life of luxury. My little princess will only taste the sweetness of life, never its bitterness.โ
โF*ck you!โ
In a flash, Raylee made her move. After letting out a curse, she had already managed to get hold of the gun.
With a face full of terror, Bastian immediately raised his hands, pleading, โRay-Ray, weapons are dangerous. Please give me back my gun!โ
Narrowing her eyes cautiously, Raylee stood up and took a few steps back, her face devoid of any expression as she spoke. โSince death is what awaits him, I might as well help him meet a quick end.โ
โDo you really care for him that much?โ Bastian lamented, brows furrowed. โFrom what I know, he wasnโt good to you. He even deceived you into going to East Aploth, nearly costing you your life.โ
Bearing the pain, Jeremiah lifted his gaze to the barrel of the gun, his voice filled with anger as he said, โYou fool, if I were you, Iโd aim the first bullet at myself. I donโt need your pity; just take care of yourself!โ
Jeremiah still hoped that she could swiftly end her own life, rather than fall into the hands of those brutes.
With mixed feelings, Raylee glanced at him. In this moment of life or death, why is he still thinking about me? This man is no good, he never has been. Yet, he has tried his utmost to prevent me from rushing to his aid in Musmeynia. Even after I had arrived, he didnโt blame me for exposing the evidence. Instead, he wished for me to have a quick death, sparing me any further agony. Has he suddenly grown a conscience? Good or evil, which side is heโฆ
Regardless of whether he was good or evil, Kaylee never once contemplated letting him die. Her goal was to bring Jeremiah back alive.
In the next instant, she shifted the direction of her gun, aiming it at Bastian.
โRay-Ray, what are you doing?โ Bastian exclaimed in surprise.
Chapter 159: Good or Evil โ Finished
The fearlessness in Rayleeโs eyes couldnโt be any more obvious. She kept her gun trained on Bastian, closing in on him until the barrel pressed against his temple.
โDo you really think you can kill me? Donโt be naรฏve, put the gun down,โ Bastian said, laughing nonchalantly.
โDonโt push me?โ Raylee threatened as she launched a kick at his knee. โGet us out of this hellhole, or I swear Iโll kill you!โ
Bastian winced in pain, his sharp eyebrows furrowed tightly. โRay-Ray, be gentle. Youโre hurting me,โ he said.
โShut up,โ Raylee barked, unable to take it anymore; she stomped her foot on him again.
The eccentric behavior of this psychopath was so revolting that she almost threw up in disgust.
โJeremiah, do you have any strength left? Secure him. Weโre going to risk it and escape from this place!โ Raylee shouted.
โYes,โ Jeremiah managed to stand up despite the pain.
However, the moment he approached Bastian, he was kicked away.
โWhat makes you think you can lay a finger on me?โ Bastian snarled menacingly. He turned around again, gripping the wrist of Raylee who was holding the gun, his smile gleeful as his gaze lingered on her.
As the situation spiraled out of control before her eyes, a wave of panic washed over Raylee. Without a second thought, she immediately pulled the trigger.
