Chapter 409

After arriving, Danielle sent Ross a quick message to let him know sheโ€™d landed safely.

Ross: [You and Shermaine need to take good care of yourselves. Joshua and I are having lunch now.]

Danielle glanced at Shermaine, who was beside her, and smiled playfully. โ€œYour brother and your man are out having lunch together.โ€

Shermaine lazily yawned before chuckling, โ€œThatโ€™s good. At least they have each other for company.โ€

Danielle sat down next to Shermaine. โ€œYouโ€™ve got company too.โ€

Shermaine handed her the room key card and said, โ€œAlright, go get some rest first so youโ€™ll have the energy to help me this evening.โ€

Her suite had two bedroomsโ€“her own and a guest roomโ€“so Danielle didnโ€™t need to book another room. Of course, even without a guest room, Danielle would have just crashed at Shermaineโ€™s place anyway.

After all, nothing was better than winding down after a long day with a hot bath and some gossip with her best friend.

โ€œIโ€™m totally fine,โ€ Danielle insisted.

Shermaine shot her a sideways glance. โ€œYou really think thatโ€™s convincing? But anyway, Iโ€™m glad that you and my brother are doing well.โ€

Danielleโ€™s cheeks flushed red, and when she realized Shermaine had caught on to her โ€œwalk of shame,โ€ she dropped the act. Rubbing her waist, she muttered, โ€œYour brotherโ€™s completely obsessed with me right now.โ€

โ€œI can tell,โ€ Shermaine teased. โ€œLooks like you two had quite a workout last night.โ€

That only made Danielle blush even more.

After teasing her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Shermaine turned her gaze back to the computer. With GPS tracking in place, Kylie had nowhere left to run.

However, since checking into a hotel, Kylie rarely ventured out during the day. Most of the time, she only appeared at night to hunt for prey. To avoid tipping Kylie off, Shermaine refrained from hacking into her devices.

She was waiting for those people to contact Kylie again.

At this hour, The Blues Jetroinian Restaurant was quiet. Besides their table, only two or three others were occupiedโ€“all by businesspeople conversing in hushed tones, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

Still, it was hard not to attract attention. Thanks to their looks, Ross and Joshua drew frequent glances from the surrounding tables.

Soon enough, a pretty woman approached their table, clearly aiming for Joshua. She bit her lip, hesitant but hopeful, her eyes locked on him as she edged closer, probably wanting to ask for his number.

Before the woman could even speak, Joshua casually picked up the water on the table, making sure the platinum wedding band on his ring finger was visible. The moment she saw it, she froze and soon awkwardly veered away, pretending sheโ€™d only been heading to the restroom.

Ross let out a soft laugh. He was used to this by now. Whenever they went out together, Joshua was always the center of attentionโ€“the most sought-after guy in the group.

Perhaps Joshua had the kind of vibe that ignited a womanโ€™s desire to conquer him. Even with his glasses on, it could not dull his allure as a mature man who radiated both elegance and edge.

They seemed destined for solitude, yet here they were, consumed by love, lost in the throes of passion beyond all self-control.

The waiter brought over the menu.

Joshua said, โ€œYour call.โ€

Without hesitation, Ross summoned the waiter and began placing their order. Just then, the windchime above the entrance rang out again, indicating that new guests had arrived.

The new guest was a strikingly tall woman, standing nearly 5โ€™7", with light gray eyes and sharp, sculpted features. Her fiery red hair was impossible to miss. It was vivid, flamboyant, and commanding.

A lean man in a tailored suit followed at her side, his features foreign, though it was hard to pin down to any specific country. What caught the other diners off guard wasnโ€™t just their striking looks, but how naturally they spoke the local language.

They picked a table close to Ross and Joshua. After sitting down, the woman ran her fingers through her hair and smoothed her dress, every gesture exuding effortless grace and refined elegance.

โ€œYour Highnessโ€”Judy, thatโ€™s the royal blood weโ€™ve been searching for,โ€ the man, Harry, whispered, his voice tinged with awe.

โ€œIโ€™m well aware,โ€ Judy said. Her gaze slowly settled on Joshua with quiet intensity as she sized him up.

โ€œHis genes are even superior to Xabierโ€™s. Heโ€™s got purer royal blood too,โ€ Harry added with implication in his words.

Of course, Judy knew that all too well. But Joshua was no puppet. He wasnโ€™t someone who would just bend to their will. As she studied him, she couldnโ€™t help but think, โ€˜He really is perfect.โ€™

Harry added, โ€œIf the royal family hadnโ€™t fallen, their heir wouldโ€™ve been your betrothed, Your Highness.โ€
