Chapter 393

โ€œHow could Sienna do this? How could she just toss me into a marriage for her own gain? Treating her own father like a bargaining chip?โ€ he raged inwardly. Aidenโ€™s chest heaved, his eyes red with fury. โ€œNo way. Iโ€™m not marrying you, so just give up on that idea.โ€

Demiโ€™s face fell, her eyes full of hurt and confusion. โ€œWhy, Mr. Hart? Is it because Iโ€™m not pretty enough for you?โ€ She knew she was a catchโ€”men always fell for her, and sheโ€™d never doubted her beauty. She was gorgeous, no doubt. But Aiden simply wasnโ€™t interested in foreign women; he preferred local women, plain and simple.

โ€œSorry, thatโ€™s not it. Youโ€™re beautiful, but weโ€™re just not a good match,โ€ he said. With that, Aiden turned to leave, but Demi smirked, propping her head up with one hand and turning slightly to face him, her eyes following his every move.

โ€œMr. Hart, Iโ€™ve looked into you. Life in the Hart family isnโ€™t exactly greatโ€”you donโ€™t even get pocket money every month. But if you marry me, whatever you want, Iโ€™ll make it happen,โ€ she said, her voice smooth and tempting. Aiden didnโ€™t flinchโ€”he just headed out without a backward glance.

Demi continued, her tone full of temptation. โ€œI heard you love collecting watchesโ€”well, my familyโ€™s in the watch business. And youโ€™re into racing, right? But youโ€™ve missed out on so many events because of money. Lucky for you, I own a racing club. If you want, I could just give you the whole thing.โ€

Aidenโ€™s steps slowed. โ€˜Damn, is she really this rich?โ€™ he wondered, a bit stunned. โ€œOnce weโ€™re married, Iโ€™ll put ten million a month straight into your account for living expenses. And thatโ€™s just the baseline. Iโ€™ll give you a supplementary black card tooโ€”my own. Most of my business is in oil, so trust me, money is never a problem for me.โ€

โ€œMr. Hart, you have three days to think it over. Letโ€™s meet at the same place, three days from now,โ€ she said, her tone cool and confident. Aiden had just opened the door, but he stopped in his tracks when he heard her words.

Demi pouted slightly, her tone soft and playful. โ€œMr. Hart, Iโ€™m still young, and my husbandโ€™s gone. I canโ€™t spend the rest of my life alone, can I? Donโ€™t you think so? Iโ€™ll be waiting to hear from you!โ€ Aiden strode out, slamming the door behind him, his eyes dark and unreadable.

Honestly, Demiโ€™s words were hard to resist. At the end of the day, he was aloneโ€”no one waiting for him, no one to care. For a moment, Aiden couldnโ€™t help but waver.

At the Lecter family home, Sean stared at a photo on the surveillance screenโ€”it was Winifred. โ€œI canโ€™t believe she saved me again,โ€ he thought, surprise flashing in his eyes. โ€œMom, Dad, I know her,โ€ Sean said, cutting off Dianeโ€™s endless chatter. Dianeโ€™s eyes widened with excitement as she grabbed his arm. โ€œYou know her? Who is she, son? The priest said you were fated to face a disaster, and the one who saved you is the person youโ€™re destined to be with!โ€

Sean frowned. โ€œMom, forget about that priestโ€”itโ€™s all nonsense. You really shouldnโ€™t take those people so seriously.โ€ โ€œAlright, alright, whatever you say. Now, tell me about that girl,โ€ she pressed, clearly eager for details.

โ€œHer name is Winifred Hart. Sheโ€™s Sienna Hartโ€™s younger sister,โ€ Sean said. โ€œWhat? Sheโ€™s actually a daughter of the Hart family? No wonderโ€”she didnโ€™t look ordinary at all. Sheโ€™s got this aura you just canโ€™t overlook. She must be such a kindhearted girl,โ€ Diane said, her eyes full of admiration.

Sean remained quiet, thinking, If you knew the truth, youโ€™d be terrified. She could snap a six-foot-tall guyโ€™s neck with her bare hands.

โ€œSean, do you like her? Want me to do a little digging and find out more for you?โ€ Diane said with a big grin. Just thinking about that icy, killer look in Winifredโ€™s eyes made Sean instinctively shrink back. No doubt sheโ€™s gorgeous, but damn, sheโ€™s dangerous, he thought. With her around, any little scheme I come up with would get shot down in a heartbeat, he told himself, swallowing hard. He shook his head. โ€œMom, someone like me could never be good enough for her.โ€

โ€œWell, sure, but youโ€™ve got a pretty handsome face. I think youโ€™ve got a shot. Plus, isnโ€™t your cousin Julian dating her sister? Thatโ€™s your chance right there,โ€ Diane said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
