Chapter 366
Vivianโs eyes lit up. โNathan, youโre truly my best friend. When I make it big, I wonโt forget youโjust wait and see. I promise I wonโt let you down.โ
Nathan lowered his head with a soft โMm,โ hiding the complicated emotions thickening in his eyes.
Fay slowly opened his eyes and met Winifredโs gaze, looking momentarily surprised.
Winifred pushed herself up, walked over, and poured him a glass of water.
โItโs you,โ Fay said, taking a sip of the water.
Winifred pulled up a chair and sat beside him, her tone sincere. โFay, thank you for saving me.โ
Fay replied, โIt was my duty. I shouldโve told you who I was sooner.โ
Winifred looked him up and down, her voice coming out in a lazy drawl. โEither way, I owe you a favor. So, what do youโ"
Fay hissed in pain, clutching his shoulder as he drew in a sharp breath.
โI told you it was just my duty. Iโm your sisterโs man. Iโm just following orders,โ he replied.
Winifred shot to her feet, her voice cold. โFay, isnโt that what you want? For me to owe you?โ
Fayโs face stiffened at her words.
Winifred stared at him, her words slow and deliberate. โFrom the very beginning, you never meant to come clean about who you reallyโ"
โYou waited until things got dangerous to jump out and save me. Let me guess, you screwed up with my Sienna and now youโre trying to use this as a way to get back to her side, right?โ
Fay hadnโt expected Winifred to be this sharp. At this point, he had nothing left to say.
Just as he was about to answer, Winifred cut in, โWhatever your reasons, I owe you for saving me, and thatโs not something I can just ignore. I did my homework on you. Youโre fiercely loyal to Sienna. So Iโll repay this favor. Iโll talk to her and make sure you get to stay with her.โ
She had talked things through with Stemma before coming to the hospital.
Fay looked up at her in disbelief. โYouโฆโ
As Winifred was about to step out of the hospital room, Fay called out softly, โThank you.โ
As Winifred was passing by a hospital room, she unexpectedly spotted Thorn inside, and her curiosity was instantly piqued when she noticed there was a woman sitting right by his bed.
Thorn gazed up at the ceiling with a look of utter despair, feeling like this womanโs relentless care had completely robbed him of his freedom these past few days.
Heโd never met a woman so annoyingly enthusiastic in his entire life.
When Thorn caught sight of Winifred, he immediately called out, โWinifred! Come in!โ
At his words, Clarkโs whole body went rigid, and he leaned even lower over his phone, pretending to be completely absorbed in it.
Winifred stepped inside, thinking the womanโs back looked strangely familiar.
Thorn replied, โWhereโs Sienna? Is she okay?โ
โSheโs fine. What happened to you?โ Winifred asked.
Thorn propped himself up, another wave of weakness hitting him. โGot into a car accident. I should be out in a few days.โ
Winifred took a closer look. He didnโt seem to have any visible injuries. โCould it be internal injuries?โ she wondered.
โWell, if thatโs it, Iโll be going,โ she said.
โWait! Tell her Iโm here,โ Thorn blurted out quickly.
Clark was already trembling, too scared to even lift his head.
That only made Winifred even more curious. She strode over, lifted Clarkโs chin, and stared straight into his eyes.
She understood in a flash.
โSo it really is him,โ Winifred realized.
Clarkโs eyes widened in shock as he forced his voice lower, croaking, โMaโam, is there something you need?โ
Winifred decided not to call him out and simply let go of Clarkโs chin.
โIโll pass along your message,โ she said.
Clark muttered to himself, โCrap, this is bad,โ and hurried off to tip off Julian.
Sienna had pretty much settled everything in Meridia, so it was about time to head back and check on the Umbrella Organization.
