Chapter 366

Vivianโ€™s eyes lit up. โ€œNathan, youโ€™re truly my best friend. When I make it big, I wonโ€™t forget youโ€”just wait and see. I promise I wonโ€™t let you down.โ€

Nathan lowered his head with a soft โ€œMm,โ€ hiding the complicated emotions thickening in his eyes.

Fay slowly opened his eyes and met Winifredโ€™s gaze, looking momentarily surprised.

Winifred pushed herself up, walked over, and poured him a glass of water.

โ€œItโ€™s you,โ€ Fay said, taking a sip of the water.

Winifred pulled up a chair and sat beside him, her tone sincere. โ€œFay, thank you for saving me.โ€

Fay replied, โ€œIt was my duty. I shouldโ€™ve told you who I was sooner.โ€

Winifred looked him up and down, her voice coming out in a lazy drawl. โ€œEither way, I owe you a favor. So, what do youโ€”"

Fay hissed in pain, clutching his shoulder as he drew in a sharp breath.

โ€œI told you it was just my duty. Iโ€™m your sisterโ€™s man. Iโ€™m just following orders,โ€ he replied.

Winifred shot to her feet, her voice cold. โ€œFay, isnโ€™t that what you want? For me to owe you?โ€

Fayโ€™s face stiffened at her words.

Winifred stared at him, her words slow and deliberate. โ€œFrom the very beginning, you never meant to come clean about who you reallyโ€”"

โ€œYou waited until things got dangerous to jump out and save me. Let me guess, you screwed up with my Sienna and now youโ€™re trying to use this as a way to get back to her side, right?โ€

Fay hadnโ€™t expected Winifred to be this sharp. At this point, he had nothing left to say.

Just as he was about to answer, Winifred cut in, โ€œWhatever your reasons, I owe you for saving me, and thatโ€™s not something I can just ignore. I did my homework on you. Youโ€™re fiercely loyal to Sienna. So Iโ€™ll repay this favor. Iโ€™ll talk to her and make sure you get to stay with her.โ€

She had talked things through with Stemma before coming to the hospital.

Fay looked up at her in disbelief. โ€œYouโ€ฆโ€

As Winifred was about to step out of the hospital room, Fay called out softly, โ€œThank you.โ€

As Winifred was passing by a hospital room, she unexpectedly spotted Thorn inside, and her curiosity was instantly piqued when she noticed there was a woman sitting right by his bed.

Thorn gazed up at the ceiling with a look of utter despair, feeling like this womanโ€™s relentless care had completely robbed him of his freedom these past few days.

Heโ€™d never met a woman so annoyingly enthusiastic in his entire life.

When Thorn caught sight of Winifred, he immediately called out, โ€œWinifred! Come in!โ€

At his words, Clarkโ€™s whole body went rigid, and he leaned even lower over his phone, pretending to be completely absorbed in it.

Winifred stepped inside, thinking the womanโ€™s back looked strangely familiar.

Thorn replied, โ€œWhereโ€™s Sienna? Is she okay?โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s fine. What happened to you?โ€ Winifred asked.

Thorn propped himself up, another wave of weakness hitting him. โ€œGot into a car accident. I should be out in a few days.โ€

Winifred took a closer look. He didnโ€™t seem to have any visible injuries. โ€˜Could it be internal injuries?โ€™ she wondered.

โ€œWell, if thatโ€™s it, Iโ€™ll be going,โ€ she said.

โ€œWait! Tell her Iโ€™m here,โ€ Thorn blurted out quickly.

Clark was already trembling, too scared to even lift his head.

That only made Winifred even more curious. She strode over, lifted Clarkโ€™s chin, and stared straight into his eyes.

She understood in a flash.

โ€˜So it really is him,โ€™ Winifred realized.

Clarkโ€™s eyes widened in shock as he forced his voice lower, croaking, โ€œMaโ€™am, is there something you need?โ€

Winifred decided not to call him out and simply let go of Clarkโ€™s chin.

โ€œIโ€™ll pass along your message,โ€ she said.

Clark muttered to himself, โ€œCrap, this is bad,โ€ and hurried off to tip off Julian.

Sienna had pretty much settled everything in Meridia, so it was about time to head back and check on the Umbrella Organization.
