Chapter 359

It was his cousin.

โ€œJulian!โ€ Sean shot up and sprinted toward him. โ€œJulian, man, I missed you.โ€

Julian frowned. โ€œWhat are you doing here?โ€

Sean, still filthy from the fight, moved to hug him.

Julian took two steps back. โ€œWhat do you think youโ€™re doing?โ€

โ€œJulian, you have no idea what Iโ€™ve been through tonight. I was this close to being six feet under,โ€ Sean whined dramatically. He just wanted a hug, but his cousin wasnโ€™t even offering a little comfort. He used to be the one whoโ€™d help him clean up after he wet the bed as a kid.

โ€œAhem. What happened?โ€ Julian asked.

As Sean was about to explain, he noticed Sienna standing next to his cousin. His eyes nearly popped out of his head as he pointed at her. โ€œItโ€™sโ€ฆ itโ€™s you.โ€

Sienna Hart. The woman his cousin was obsessed with.

โ€œDo you know me?โ€ Sienna asked, turning to look at him.

Sean grinned. โ€œYou must be Sienna. Iโ€™ve seen your picture in my cousinโ€™s room. He told me youโ€™re the girl heโ€™s into.โ€

A blush crept up Julianโ€™s neck. โ€œAhem. This is my cousin, Sean Lecter.โ€

โ€œNice to meet you,โ€ Sienna greeted.

"Sienna Winifred" walked out.

Sienna strode over to her, looking her over from head to toe for any serious injuries.

โ€œWinifred, Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re okay,โ€ Sienna said, finally letting out a breath of relief.

โ€œSienna, I didnโ€™t know he was one of yours. I thought he was here to capture me, but he ended up getting hurt to save me. Heโ€™s in surgery now,โ€ Winifred said.

Sienna stroked her hair. โ€œHeโ€™ll be fine, donโ€™t worry. His name is Fay Santos. He works for me."

โ€œYou knew I left the country all along, didnโ€™t you?โ€ Winifred asked, a little sheepish. Winifred felt a pang of guilt. Sheโ€™d run off without telling her.

โ€œYes.โ€ Sienna didnโ€™t press the issue. People had to do what they had to do, and it wasnโ€™t her place to interfere as long as they were safe.

The operating room door opened, and the surgeon came out.

โ€œFamily? The patient is stable, but the wound is very deep. He should avoid any strenuous activity for the next year, or he risks permanent disability.โ€

Lana nodded. โ€œOkay, thank you, doctor. We understand.โ€

โ€œSienna, you and himโ€ฆโ€ Winifred observed the new dynamic between her sister and Julian. It was different from before. Were they together?

That Julian Ford sure worked fast. It hadnโ€™t been that long, and he was already by her sisterโ€™s side. But if he wanted to be a permanent fixture, heโ€™d have to get through her first.

โ€œSo youโ€™re Siennaโ€™s sister,โ€ Sean said, walking up to Winifred. โ€œThank you for tonight. If you hadnโ€™t saved me, Iโ€™d probably be pushing up daisies right now.โ€

But the warmth in Winifredโ€™s expression vanished when she turned to him. โ€œOne million dollars,โ€ she said coldly. โ€œHereโ€™s my account number. Wire it.โ€

The smile on Seanโ€™s face froze. He took the card she held out, laughing awkwardly. โ€œRight. Okay,โ€ Sean replied. Heโ€™d never met a woman who could flip a switch so fast. Women were impossible to figure out.

โ€œSienna, he saved me.โ€ Winifred said, her tone softening again as she spoke to her sister. โ€œI owe him one.โ€

Winifred glanced at the platinum-blond man lying in the hospital bed. His skin was fair, his features delicate and soft, but he didnโ€™t seem capable of smiling. He looked like an automaton, his face a perfect, emotionless mask.

Sheโ€™d been around people who lived in the shadows; she could tell at a glance that Fay Santos was hiding something.

Sienna explained. โ€œI rescued him from a human experimentation lab ten years ago and trained him to be my aide. He suffers from a kind of emotional numbness. Heโ€™s been with me ever since. A while back, he made a mistake, so I sent him to Eastria. I never expected him to run into you there."
