Chapter 334
Sienna spoke in a cool, even tone. โGo ahead.โ
โI know you and Dr. Solis have a special connection. I need him to save my family. Shadow, I never touched your stuff. I can return it to you exactly as it was,โ said Felix.
No matter how hard Felix tried, he could never dig up anything on Nicholas. That was because Nicholas was from a family heavily protected by the Umbrella Organization.
Felix was broke and had zero connections; people like that were completely out of his league. So the only way in was through the Lynch family and Eleanor.
โWhy should I trust you? Only the dead can keep secrets. Donโt you think?โ Siennaโs voice was icy, every word sharp as a blade.
Felix forgot to breathe for a second, nearly suffocating under the sheer force of her presence.
โFelix, you should know by now that your threats mean nothing to me. From the moment you touched my things, your life stopped being your own,โ Sienna said, her tone calm but edged with lethal intent.
Sweat gathered in thick beads on Felixโs forehead as he struggled to keep his composure.
I have gambled everything on this one desperate moveโrisked it all, and now, is it really going to end in failure! Felix wondered.
โIf you can get Dr. Solis to help me, my life is yours to takeโanytime, anywhere. But if you canโt, well, I canโt guarantee your secrets will stay safe,โ Felix said, his voice shaking but his eyes full of stubborn defiance.
This was his last chance, and there was no turning back now.
Sienna smirked, a playful glint in her eyes. โFelix, do you have any idea where the last person who tried to threaten me ended up?โ
Felix shook his head.
Sienna tapped her fingers on the table. โAt the bottom of the ocean.โ
Felix froze, his face stiffening. โArenโt you afraid Iโll just hand your stuff over to Eleanor? Sheโs the one who put me up to stealing it from you in the first place.โ
He'd spent three whole months scheming, just waiting for the chaos to give him a shot at breaking through the Umbrella Organizationโs defenses.
โYou wonโt give it to her,โ Sienna replied coolly, her tone absolute. โShe canโt get you out of this mess. What you need, Eleanor doesnโt have what it takes to make the number one doctor in the field lift a finger for her.โ
She added, "What is Dr. Solis."
Sienna saw right through him, and the way she had everything in the palm of her hand made Felix feel like an ant being crushed under a mountainโcompletely powerless.
Felix took a slow, steadying breath. โShadow, I admit I need your help, but your stuff is in my hands. If we go head to head, weโll both go down together.โ
Sienna let out a soft laugh. โBoth down together? You wouldnโt risk it. If you did, all that scheming of yours would be for nothing."
Felix was at a total loss. Facing someone this powerful for the first time, he realized he had no leverage at allโnot even the barest shred. She has already seen right through him long before this meeting. What do I even have left to bargain with? He wondered.
โUse my family. Irribarre for a fair trade," Felix said.
Sienna curled into a frosty smile. โAlright, since weโre talking about a fair deal, let's lay out the rules for you. Clearly, you--"
Sienna looked at him with a halfโsmile and drawled, โI donโt know?โ
Felix clenched his fists so tight his knuckles turned pale. No matter what move he made, it was a dead end; there was no way out for him, and he knew it. He was completely trapped.
But even if there was only the slimmest, most uncertain chance, he had no choice but to go for it.
Thinking of his sister lying in a hospital bed, on the verge of death, Felix gritted his teeth, stood up, and braced himself against the wall.
With a sickening crack, Felix brutally broke his own arm with his bare hands.
