Chapter 324
Seren nodded. โYes, Mrs. Ford. Honestly, I think Miss Hart is a really outstanding woman. Donโt you think so?โ
Lucia agreed. โSheโs quite capable. But just say whatโs on your mind, Seren. No need to test me.โ
Seren smiled knowingly, โYou always know what Iโm thinking, Mrs. Ford. I heard Julian seems to have special feelings for Miss Hart, but sheโs already married.
โI was wondering if the reason he hasnโt been interested in blind dates is that heโs still holding out hope for her. Maybe if we let Miss Hart turn him down herself, Julian will finally lose all hope and be able to move on with his life.โ
Lucia frowned. โYou do have a point.โ
The main issue was that Julian was just too unruly. He never listened to them, had his eyes on a married woman, refused to go on blind dates, and even stirred up trouble between Levi and his father.
Maybe Serenโs idea wasnโt half bad.
Nina, even though she had three sons, was sitting on a huge fortune from her late husband. If Julian married her, itโd basically mean all that money would come to the Ford familyโa huge win for them.
โAs an elder, itโs not really my place to step in for something like this. You handle it,โ Lucia said.
Seren said, โI understand, Mrs. Ford.โ
Lucia got into the car with the driver and headed back, while Seren walked over to Sienna and Nora. โHello, ladies.โ
Nora and Sienna were busy looking at clothes. When they heard the voice, Nora didnโt even bother to look up. She just waved her hand and said, โWe donโt need any recommendations or introductions, thanks.โ
Serenโs face froze. She hadnโt expected them to mistake her for a salesperson.
Sienna turned her head and looked at Seren. โIs there something you need?โ
โMiss Hart, hello. My name is Seren White. You might not know me, but Iโm sure you know my fiancรฉ, Julian Ford,โ Seren said with a bright, friendly smile as she looked at Sienna.
Nora paused what she was doing and looked up at Seren. โJulianโs fiancรฉe?โ she wondered. โJust now, Enna and I were talking about Julian. He is engaged?โ
Seren couldnโt spot even the slightest change in Siennaโs expression. It was like her words meant absolutely nothing to Sienna.
โAnd?โ Siennaโs cold, indifferent gaze showed a flicker of interest.
Seren confidently tossed her hair and said, โI know Julian used to have feelings for you, but thatโs all in the past.
โNow, Iโm his fiancรฉe, and youโre a married woman, Miss Hart. So I assume thereโs no more entanglement between you two, right?โ
Nora frowned in annoyance. โWhat do you mean by that? What do you mean by entanglement?
โIf you canโt speak properly, then just keep your mouth shut. Words have consequences, you know. Donโt use such vague terms and try to smear my best friendโs reputation.โ
Seren lowered her head. โIโm really sorry, Miss Hart. I misspokeโI didnโt mean any harm. Please donโt take it the wrong way.โ
Sienna glanced out the window, her tone full of arrogance. โYou guessed right. There is an entanglement between us.
"In fact, just last night, we kissed. Funny thing is, he never mentioned you, his so-called fiancรฉe. And Miss White, you might want to watch your words. Iโm single, not married.โ
At that, Serenโs face changed dramatically, her eyes widening in disbelief, โWhat? No way. I thought you were already married?โ
Sienna asked curiously, โMay I ask who told you I was married?โ
Who started that rumor? Sienna wondered.
Serenโs heart plummeted. Theyโre that close, and sheโs not even married, she wondered.
Noraโs eyes widened in shock as she looked at her best friend. Last night? They kissed? she thought. So there really is something going on between her and Julian.
โMiss Hart, IโI just heard it from others, really, just some rumors. Please donโt misunderstand. I wonโt bother you two any longer. Goodbye,โ Seren stammered.
