Chapter 308
As soon as he heard that, Julian shot up from his seat. Since Levi was standing way too close, he'd even leaned in so Julian could hear. As Julian stood up, his head smacked right into Levi's face.
"Ow, my nose," Levi clutched his nose tightly, tears springing to his eyes from the pain.
"He totally did that on purpose," Levi thought, realizing Julian was getting back at him.
"What did you just say? Who gave you permission to do that, Levi?" Julian's face turned stormy, his eyes cold and bottomless as he stared Levi down.
Levi kept pushing his luck. "I told you. I sold it for 130 million dollars."
Julian reached out and grabbed him by the collar, his voice low. "Levi, who gave you the guts to do this? Was it that spineless loser Marcus back at home?"
Just because Julian never got involved in the family's affairs didn't mean they could cross the line and mess with his mother's things.
Levi's neck was yanked up, making it hard for him to breathe. His face turned red as he gasped, "So what if it was him? So what if it wasn't? The stuff's already sold. If you've got the guts, hit me, Julian. But think about it. If you lay a finger on me here at the Bayer family's place, you're just asking for trouble and showing them disrespect. Come on, hit me if you dare."
Levi's taunting words made Clark, standing behind him, itch to punch him. This guy's really asking for it, he thought.
Just as Levi raised an eyebrow, looking all smug, a loud slap landed across his face. One side of his face swelled up instantly.
"Who did that? Who dared to hit me?" Levi spun around, only to meet Sienna's cold, emotionless gaze. "Sienna! It was you."
"Yeah, it was me. Got a problem with that?" Sienna shot back.
Levi's face flushed bright red, his breath caught in his throat. "Sienna, what gives you the right to hit me? This is between me and Julian. It has nothing to do with you."
Julian let go of Levi with a look of disgust. He realized he'd let Levi get under his skin and almost lost his composure in front of everyoneโwhat a mistake.
Sienna stood right beside Julian. "His business is my business. Got a problem? If you do, just swallow it. I could end you any time I want. Someone, throw him out."
"Sienna, how dare you? You two-timing slut. You're shameless, absolutely shameless," Levi spat, cursing her out.
Julian couldn't stand anyone badmouthing Sienna. He stepped up, dislocated Levi's jaw with ease, and kicked him square in the chest.
Levi passed out cold on the spot.
Clark quickly hauled him up and dragged him out.
"Sorry for making you upset," Julian said, meeting her gaze. That sentence she'd just said kept replaying in his mind, refusing to fade away.
It was like a thousand waves crashing in his chest, pounding fiercely against his burning, restless heart.
She said his business is her business. Was she just stepping in to help me out, or did she mean something more? he wondered.
"It's nothing. What were you guys talking about? Maybe I can help," Sienna said as she took a seat beside him.
Julian hesitated, then finally spoke, "It's just some personal business. One of the buildings is from my mother's. Levi sold it off behind my back while I wasn't paying attention. Have Clark contact the auction buyer later, and I'll buy it back, even if I have to pay double."
Not a single thing of my mother's is staying with the Ford family, Julian wondered. I'm taking it all back!
"Is this what you mean?" Sienna pulled out a document, and right there on the front was the very building Julian had just mentioned.
Julian was genuinely surprised, hardly able to believe it. Is this really just a coincidence? Or maybe it was fate that she happened to be the one who bought it?
Julian gave a small smile. "Yeah, but since you bought it, it belongs to you now."
I won't take anything from her, he wondered.
